    I’m not sure I can completely summarize what my personal views on sex are—just like, if you asked to list all the ways in which sex can impact our daily lives, I would probably find it equally difficult—since really, we are very sexual creatures and subconsciously or consciously, sex effects a lot of what we do.     First, I think human sexuality isn’t discussed enough in an open and honest manner in our society, especially when it comes to women. A good percentage of women are raised in a manner that either completely ignores the fact that they can experience sexual desire, or are raised to hide their sexual desire until well into a committed relationship. I don’t think this is healthy. As I said, I believe that our sexuality is an important part of our humanity, and therefore, I think we should be brought up learning how to have healthy, enjoyable, and fulfilling sex and should be taught how to communicate our needs and desires to our sexual partners.

    More personally, I view sex as a way to share an enjoyable moment with another human being and to learn more about that person. Within that broad definition however, I also can view sex simply as a way to show off and feel power over my partner, a way to show my appreciation or trust for my partner, a way to challenge my physical ability or my boundaries, or just a way to be giving.

    Why I Love Outdoor Sex

    I absolutely love being in nature anyway, so being able to go outside and have sex in nature is just the icing on the cake for me. But really, there are a few things.     I first heard of camming in the spring of 2015. I was a street performer at the time and was looking for new hula hoop videos to watch. I thought that was really cool and decided to look further into the industry.

    How My Life Has Changed Since I Started Camming

    My life has changed in many ways such as, how I think, how I live and how I work. I was not always the most determined or high driven girl. I was a little depressed and didn’t like to try. Camming has changed my way of thinking, I think more of myself and have more confidence because I make my own living now. When I work super hard, I benefit super hard… when I slack off, I benefit minimally. I like that it’s all up to me. It has changed how I live. I used to like doing nothing, slacking, drinking, partying etc. Now it’s hard for me to engage in things like that on a daily basis. It has changed my work ethic the most. Before, I had no work ethic, no routine, no goals. Now, I have all those things… and I am actually ENJOYING them! Camming has changed me for the better.

    Things I Had To Give Up

    I don’t have the social life I once had that’s for sure! Friends were top priority to me about one year ago. Now, with camming I often find myself saying “I’m too busy”, “I have plans”, “I can’t, I’m working right now” all the time.  I have lost many friends that don’t have time for me or don’t understand why I choose working over relaxing. I have given up my lazy days of being a teenager/college kid. I have given up partying extensively and even things such as smoking cigarettes for camming. It’s important to me, that I take care of myself as best as I can, for my fans.

    Who In My Inner Circle Knows I’m Camming

    So many! It’s not something I go screaming to the neighborhood but I don’t hide who I am from anyone. My mom (a.k.a. The Mothership), my dad, and my older brother all know. Other family members ask and I do like to keep it simple with “My boyfriend is supporting me right now, while I focus on school”, some members just wouldn’t understand. I told my close family soon after I got into the industry, honestly because I did not want them finding out by stumbling upon me online!!! They are all “As long as you’re safe and happy” very supportive which I am very lucky to have. All of my close friends know what I do. Especially since my ‘studio’ is my living room and I often get questioned about my pink walls! Friends that decide they want to look at me differently or judge me for being a camgirl, I simply don’t have time for.

    How Their Initial Reaction Was Like

    The Mothership was very curious about my job, she wanted to know that I was being as safe as I can, wanting to know that I wasn’t harming myself etc, … lots of ‘Mom’ like things! She likes it now and is really supportive of me, I can tell her almost anything about it, and my fans can even ‘Tip’ for me to call her! My brother and dad acted how you would expect, they pretended like they didn’t hear me! Although I know they did, we don’t talk about it like The Mothership and I do *thank god* but they both are aware, and don’t treat me differently. Actually my brother will make jokes about it sometimes. I’m just extremely lucky to have that support from them.

    Misconceptions About Camgirls

    The biggest one I have heard directed towards me is “Yeah, if I had your body, I would be a camgirl too”. I have to play this off lightly because my body is the last and almost least important quality you need as a camgirl. The misconception that all it takes is being ‘cute and little and sexy’ drives me nuts because you need SO MUCH MORE than that. You need to know and understand the business. You need to know how to manage yourself, your time, and your clients. You need a good personality and good customer service. You need to be dependable and reliable. You need to be responsible. Those are just a few qualities you need that are WAY more important than your body.

    Advice For Beginners

    The advice I gave myself *and keep giving myself* is this: Take it slow, Stay focused on your goals, Staying organized sucks, but helps A LOT, Don’t spread yourself too thin, and most importantly: Don’t quit, don’t quit, don’t quit, don’t quit!

    From a very young age, I knew that my sexuality was a big part of me.  I was always curious about it as a child, and when I came of age, I realized that sex was a way for me to explore and express myself, as well as connect with other people. I don’t think there’s any shame in being a ‘sexual’ person. Sex is natural, and I’m happy being open about my sex life with my friends and –to an extent- my family. It makes me uncomfortable to have to ‘censor’ my sexuality. I think pornography is a very grey area and I’m the first to admit that there are some issues around its creation, distribution and consumption. However, I think that again, it’s natural to be curious about it and for it to arouse someone.

    Porn interested me from a young age. I grew up with older brothers and would sometimes stumble across their collections. I would feel really guilty for looking, but by the time I was a teenager, I was regularly watching it. I must admit that now I barely ever do. I’m very fussy/particular about what I do and do not like, and not much of the ‘mainstream’ porn even turns me on. ­I’m more interested in indie porn that borders on the line of video art, BDSM scenes and group scenes. I was a young teenager when the idea of performing in pornographic movies interested me. It was something I wanted to ‘give a go’. Little did I know that it would be one of the most liberating and self-loving experiences of my life as well as causing such a rift in my personal life.

    What Is Ethical Porn?

    To me, ethical porn is a part of the industry that is just and fair; in which performers are treated with respect, paid fairly and have a safe environment. The footage released is without fetishization of unethical, harmful concepts portrayed by many companies (such as fetishizing race, age etc). The performers are not pressured to appear a certain way, and are able to present themselves however they feel comfortable. The scenes are distributed to sites which enable companies to obtain profit for their work as opposed to being stolen and posted on tube sites without performer and director consent.

    Which Porn Stars & Companies Make Ethical Porn?

    I honestly do not know of any large American companies that make ethical porn. I’d like to think that KINK.com do, especially since cutting ties with the infamous James Deen (an ex porn star known to have raped and assaulted numerous women). Everyone who works for them seems to speak highly of them, and having watched some documentaries on how they like to operate, it seems they treat their performers well. Here in Australia we are so lucky that most of our companies here are founded on the idea of ethical porn. Director Michelle Flynn of Light Southern was my first experience of ethical porn and was how I heard about it. I’ve shot a couple of scenes with her as my director. They were solo scenes – something I’m surprisingly uncomfortable with but wanted to give a go. She made me feel at ease. She let me decide what to wear, allowed me to do my makeup and hair however I wanted and made me feel at home. She talked me through the model release forms.

    Before I even shot for her, I had a meeting with her at her then office in Fitzroy where she gave me some advice on staying safe and working with the right people. Anyone would be lucky to shoot with a director with such a warm and kind approach. I’ve also heard that Girls Out West work from an ethical porn model, as well as Indigo Lush. Additionally, I’ve shot for international sites which I know come from this model, such as Yanks and Ersties. Many of Australia’s porn stars shoot ethical porn, however still shoot for companies that I wouldn’t consider to be of the same standard. However, I don’t think this is a reflection of them as people. I’ve also done this.

    Why Do We Hardly Hear About Ethical Porn?

    I think it’s crazy that people don’t know what ‘ethical porn’ is. People want to spread stigma about the industry, claiming that performers have ‘daddy’ issues, drug habits, are victims of assault etc. Whilst this may be true for some, it definitely is not a representation of porn performers. On the flip side, people want to say that it’s such an easy job, often making jokes that they will ‘drop out of school and become a porn star/ stripper/ escort’. Porn is not evil, but it is not an easy job either. I think people don’t realize the true issues of the porn industry. They do not realize that the problems lie within the stigma and is largely caused by the consumers. I think people don’t hear about it because they are unaware of the issues in the first place. However, I must again convey that from what I’ve seen, the industry here in Australia for performers is a much safer and ethical environment overall.

    Is There A Way To Watch Porn Ethically?

    Of course! Purchasing porn is the first step. Support your smaller companies, support independent companies. Stay away from tube sites. Of course, I can say all of this but most people probably won’t listen.
