A Sexual Home Appliance: Unboxing the VORZE A10 Cyclone SA

The A10 Cyclone SA by VORZE is a sexual home appliance. When I received it for the review, I did not know anything about it other than seeing pictures of it on the web. So I was surprised by how big the package was. I was expecting it to be about the same size as the flash jack that I have, however it was much longer and heavier. This made me wonder how you can masturbate with something that is of that size. It also came with a silicon plug which was packaged separately. I was pretty excited to unbox it as the pictures I have seen online showed the device to be slick and high tech. So you can say the excitement was from my virgin experience to having such a state of the art sexual tool. In short, I was geeking out.

When I unboxed the A10 Cyclone SA, I found that it came with the power adaptor with a type A plug head. This was a surprise to me as I was expecting a type G which is what my country uses—the main countries that use type A are USA, Canada and Japan. Based on this, my guess is that this is a Japanese type A10 Cyclone. I mean who else would create such a high tech sex toy? And I was right when I looked at the instruction manual; it was fully in Japanese. However, the A10 Cyclone was simple enough to use even without English instructions. This find made me even more excited because I know this A10 Cyclone will be of excellent quality. The other stuff that came with the A10 Cyclone were a DVD and a Bluetooth. Why would a sex toy need a DVD and a Bluetooth?

Putting my curiosity of the DVD and Bluetooth aside, I began to play around with the masturbator. The A10 Cyclone was indeed long and heavy; it is about fifty centimeter in length and about five hundred grams in weight. It has six buttons but no menu screen on the navigation panel. The six buttons are the power button, left and right buttons which I suspect are for changing the modes, up and down buttons which I suppose are to adjust the level intensity and lastly, a center button which I cannot figure out what it does. Before I could begin trying out the functions, I had to attach the silicon plug on. If you look at its base, there is an empty hole which is where the silicon plug should be attached. I was wondering how to remove the base to put the attachment. Strangely, the base had the illusion that it was being firmly screwed on but it wasn’t. This means that I could not twist it loose. Fighting my fear not to break it, I decided to pull the base off and surprisingly it came off easily. The base was attached with very strong magnets. Similarly, the holder for the silicon plug was also firmly attached to the motor by a strong magnet. I feel that the use of magnets was very ingenious as it really makes it easy a lot for the user to disassemble and assemble the A10 Cyclone, especially when you can want to clean up afterwards.

After I placed the silicon plug in the A10 Cyclone, I left it to charge so that I would have enough power to play with. While waiting, I went to my computer to take a look at DVD and to figure out the use of the Bluetooth. To my surprise, the DVD contain porn. Straight Japanese porn to be exact. There were three scenes inside: the first scene was a hand job, the next scene was a blowjob and the last scene a full-on vaginal penetration. On top of this, the Bluetooth allows you to synchronize the video with the A10 Cyclone. Hence, combining both visual and sensual experience to one holistic experience.

When it came for the time to lube up, I used the bottle of lubrication that came with the A10 Cyclone. The lube was a decent. However, I feel that you can use any type that you prefer as there was nothing special about the lubrication. I turned the masturbator on and boy, was I glad to see my assumptions about the navigation panel correct. I also found out that the center button was a pause button as well as a mode LED indicator. The A10 Cyclone had six different modes which are indicated by the different LED colours. They are aqua, pink, green, yellow, blue and red. These modes were patterns that were a combination of speeds and multiple-rotation. I personally enjoyed the red mode.

After I had pleasured myself, I felt that the A10 Cyclone might not be for you if you have a small penis as the silicon plug caters to those with medium to large penises. I wonder if VORZE sell silicon plugs that were tighter to cater to this market. With that being said, I still feel that the VORZE A10 Cyclone SA is a great product and a wonder gift for either a friend or for your personal pleasure.

12th Taiwan Gay Pride: An act of public obscenity or self-expression?

What comes to your mind when you think of gay pride parades? Topless guys with six pack abs and guys in speedo with strong torsos waving at you with a perfect smile. Over the years, public body exposure seems to have become a trademark in every gay pride parade. From promotional posters to official websites, images of guys confidently showcasing their body occupy most of the spaces. While it may not be a big deal in western countries, it has stirred some fierce debates in more conservative societies like Taiwan.

Although Taiwan Gay Pride has entered its 12th year, the general public still seems to have trouble getting used to having a massive crowd of topless guys in colorful Speedos marching through the streets. Many of them choose to bear with it because it is the once a year’s carnival occasion to them. However, every society has a group of moral defenders whose mission is to safeguard the traditional social values from the challenges posed by new cultural practices. Taiwan is no exception from that. Its group of moral fighters have been working hard to prevent Taiwanese society from falling to the invasion of foreign cultural practices.

It all started with the proposal of Taiwan’s civil partnership bill, which is aiming to grant marriage rights to LGBT couples. While this idea immediately received popular supports from Taiwan’s younger generation, a group called Taiwan Family Preservation Union decided to take up the task of preserving traditional marriages in Taiwan. They started to publicized biased beliefs about the LGBT community and Taiwan Gay Pride became one of their prime targets. The Pride’s scantily clad participants became their scapegoat. Accusing the Pride for attempting to loosen sexual morality in Taiwan by encouraging participants to publicly expose their bodies. To them, these acts of mass body exposure have reached a level of obscenity. However, the organizers of the Taiwan Gay Pride emphasize that the parade’s goal is to encourage self-expression through the showcasing personal body image. The Pride organizers that suggest conservatives rationalize the situation based on facts. A simple act of self-expression should have never been distorted into an act of intentional obscenity.

In the end, it all comes down to personal interpretation of public body exposure. For the younger generation including myself, it is the occasion that defines the act. In the case of gay pride parades, marchers expose their body parts in public to proudly celebrate LGBT culture and their queer identity. To them, it is a rare occasion where they can completely speak up about themselves without worrying about malice backlash from society rather than intentionally provoking the society at large. These LGBT individuals merely hope to attract the general public’s attention and share their ideas, culture and lifestyles with them. While conservatives may keep emphasizing the negative influence stemming from public body exposure, the LGBT community should not compromise this tradition so easily. After all, it is one of the more effective ways to get people’s attention and let them hear what we have to say. As long as the act does not go overboard, it should continue to be the widely practiced tradition in gay pride parades.

12th Taiwan Gay Pride: Redefining the LGBT culture

This past weekend saw the rainbow flags back in town when Taiwan held its 12th Gay Pride Parade in Taipei. With efforts from previous years, Taiwan Gay Pride has become an iconic LGBT event in Asia that attracted around 80,000 across the country and the world to participate in the parade this year. This year’s parade focuses on encouraging members of the LGBT community to learn about each other’s differences through embracing sexuality with a more open-minded attitude. In addition to the continuous effort to educate the general public about LGBT culture, the parade organizers think that different factions within the LGBT community also need to strengthen their mutual understanding. In other words, the dialogue about LGBT culture and sexuality needs to be redefined.

Taiwan’s LGBT rights movement was initiated from conservative social and cultural environment where the idea of homosexuality was rarely at the center of discussion. In its early years, it had to bridge existing barriers and introduce the unfamiliar idea of homosexuality to the Taiwanese society. Their mission is about establishing a fair and comprehensive understanding and meaning of sexuality in the Taiwanese social context. Their achievements became obvious when Taiwan was gradually recognized as the very few countries with an open-minded attitude toward LGBT culture. However, this does not help to completely clear up stereotypes associated with the LGBT community. HIV and STD continue to be regarded as gay men’s disease while LGBT individuals still face different kinds of discrimination. This may make us doubt on whether efforts from previous years will all end up in vain. It seems obvious that the LGBT rights movement fails to produce a public image that can represent all members of the community, and that further contributes to the fragmented understanding that the general public holds. The LGBT rights movement needs an internal remodeling in order to overcome existing stereotypes.

Thanks to a group of dedicated lawmakers who recognize the LGBT community’s need for a common ground, a proposal for a same-sex marriage bill is presented to the public. This quickly sparked strong opinion from both ends of the spectrum. The bill offers the LGBT rights movement a common ground to present a public image that encompasses the shared wish of the LGBT community. The community is now united under one simple wish, the right to get married legally. Banners bearing slogans calling for civil partnership can be seen throughout the procession of the 12th Taiwan Gay Pride. The civil partnership bill also simplifies issues surrounding the LGBT community for the general public. While defenders of traditional marriage continue to publicize false beliefs about LGBT culture and how it could endanger the traditional marriage values, for the first time, the LGBT community is given a channel to share its thoughts and ideas to the general public directly. Their arguments became simpler and more concentrated. Most importantly, it reflects the simple desire of the LGBT community to acquire rights that are enjoyed by the rest of society.

The new focus on equal rights and fair treatment helps to redirect the discussion about LGBT culture toward a less complicated path. The general public should realize that LGBT individuals in Taiwan are not asking for more than what the rest of them have been enjoying. The dialogue initiated by the LGBT community is aiming to create an equal social environment where LGBT individuals can coexist with the rest of society without suffering from any discriminatory treatment. It is about harmonious coexistence, and not fierce confrontation.

Interview with Erotica Novelist: Troy Lambert

SimplySxy takes the opportunity to speak to the author, Troy Lambert on his insipiration behind One Night in Boise and the advice he can give to aspiring erotica writers who wish to try their hand in writing.

SimplySxy: What was the inspiration behind One Night in Boise?

Troy: The inspiration for One Night in Boise was a challenge: I write thrillers, had written sex scenes in them, but this took at least the sex to another level. As sex is certainly thrilling and can be suspenseful, it seemed right up my alley. The story idea came to me early one morning, with the simple first line of the book, “It’s a dangerous game we play.”

SimplySxy: One Night in Boise is book one of the City Nights Series. How does the series link up?

Troy: The City Nights series is an erotic romance series sponsored by Tirgearr Publishing. The guidelines are simple: the story must be novella length, take place in a 24 hour period in a city of the author’s choosing. The story must be a mix of erotica and romance—not just a “sex” story, but one with strong character development as well.

I’m also the managing editor of the series, and the next book is One Night in Paris by Lucy Felthouse, followed by One Night in Rome by C. Margery Kempe and One Night in New Orleans by Kristi Ahlers. There will be one novella released a month, until we run out of authors and cities.

SimplySxy: How do you differentiate between erotica and romance?

Troy: Romance is more about characters and story. Much of the genre, like other fiction, is character or plot driven. Romance can have several heat levels, from the closed bedroom door, mild level of sex to erotic, hot love scenes.

Erotica is more about hot sex. Sex not only must be an integral part of the story, but it often is the story.

In this series the blend of the two is very important. The sex must be hot, but the story also has to be good, thus the erotic romance category. I added a sub-genre of thriller and it seems to work very well for readers.

SimplySxy: Are there any advice to new authors?

I get asked this one often, and my stock answer is this: if you can do something else, do it. Being a writer, making a living at it, is hard, and you really don’t get paid all that well for all the hours you put in.

But if like me, you find you really aren’t good for much else, and “normal” jobs seem to never work out because you simply have to write and you can’t help yourself, then stop worrying about how to “make a living” as a writer.

Do things with two criteria: Write things you enjoy writing that also pay at least something. Then learn to live on what you can make pursuing your passion. You might be poor for a while or even a long time, but you will be doing what you love and that is worth more than any mansion or fancy car.

It’s a dangerous game we play.

We like to play year round, but the snow, the cold has us turning to other games to pass the time in the winter. Tonight, though it is not yet spring, it is warm for early April, and we are both ready.

The yellow streetlights emit tight yellow pools of light that she avoids carefully. I circle the block, seeing if I can spot her in the shadows. When she spies the old Caprice, she steps to the curb.

She wears red leather. My favorite. A tight mini skirt, thigh high boots, and a laced corset envelop her curves. Her scarlet lipstick matches a bow wrapped in her brunette hair, completing the look.

She’s not as young as she used to be, but then neither am I. When I look at her though, I still see the girl I married over 20 years ago. Book Review – Dark Warrior by Julie Shelton

Book Review – Skin In The Game: Unleashing Your Inner Entrepreneur to Find Love by Neely Steinberg
What comes to your head when you hear of the term “entrepreneur”? Perhaps words such as self-starter, independence, risk-taker, business-owner springs to mind. A common definition of an entrepreneur is someone who organises, manages, and assumes the risk of a business or enterprise. Everyone women has an entrepreneur spirit in her and this spirit is what Steinberg believes is able to help her enjoy and appreciate the journey towards finding love. Do not expect the path to be smooth or to get instant results such as finding a man within a few weeks of this journey. There will be failures and doubts along the way, but as Steinberg puts it:

- Unique exercises, checklists and action steps to aid the journey
- Anecdotes and stories shared by Neely from her personal and professional experiences.
- Picking up various entrepreneur tips which can be used in all any aspect of life!
Skin in The Game is a wonderful and interesting read even at over 400 pages long, given how Neely uses the entrepreneur framework angle for a dating model. Like starting a business, the dating journey requires a lot of determination and dedication. Even after finding the person you love, the hard work doesn’t end there. Maintaining the relationship like you would do a business to keep it running is essential as well. Skin in The Game is recommended for all women. You might have already found love, or might not be ready to embark on your entrepreneur love journey just yet, but the framework presented inside will open and give you the impetus to try these new ideas and possibilities to shape your love life.
