    Hi! Thanks so much for having me. So as you already know, my name is Carissa-Rae but I usually just go by Carissa. I live in London but I originate from The Philippines.

    What is the best compliment you have received?

    The best compliment I have ever received is probably when I got told “you’re so beautiful you don’t even know it”. I just thought it was a beautiful line because I know a lot of girls, like me, don’t get just how amazing and beautiful they are inside and out.

    Do you have any hobbies?

    I have a few hobbies, I love to sing. I’ve been singing since I could talk and it’s always been something I love to do. I also love looking after my dog, Chelsea. I love animals apart from any type of birds, they scare me so much but I have no idea why.

    How will you describe your fashion style?

    I don’t actually know how to describe my fashion style but I like to keep my style in the middle of casual but sexy on a normal day. On occasions, I like to be elegant. I have two moods, clothes that are tight fitting and clothes that are kind of big for me.

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now?

    I remember when I was in a club with my best friend in the VIP area and I was wearing these boot heels that were pretty high and kind of comfortable as long as I took precaution. There was a really wet part on the floor that caused a couple to topple over and knock the rope off of the VIP area, I thought damn that’s awkward. Not long after, I slipped really really badly in the same spot and the guys around me stared for like five seconds before actually helping me up. It was so so embarrassing but looking back I can’t stop laughing at myself.

    Is there a food or drink you can’t live without?

    The obvious answer to this would be water, I love water and definitely couldn’t live without it. Speaking food-wise, I love seafood. I’d be so mad if I was allergic to seafood because of how much I love it.

    If you could time travel, what will you like to experience or witness?

    If I could time travel, I’d really want to see my parents growing up. I’m extremely family oriented and I just think it would be amazing to see how they grew up and how they were when they were younger.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Ages ago, there was a guy on Facebook who would message me all day everyday even if I never replied. He really really wanted to get to know me and he kept offering to buy me things (even though I knew he couldn’t afford half of those things). I just found it super sad, I’m not necessarily materialistic so it was so weird for me.

    Thank you so much for having me! For me personally, “sexy” would be best defined as feeling yourself. I don’t believe in labels. People only see what you want them to see so being sexy for me, would be being so comfortable and happy in yourself that people are just like damn that’s hot.

    How is a typical day like for you?

    Typical day for me is usually hitting the gym in the morning before work, and after work I’m almost always up until the early hours of the morning working on costumes or shooting new content.

    Which video games are your favorites to play?

    I am in love with the god of war franchise but currently playing Zelda Breath of the Wild and Stardew Valley .

    Where did your inspiration to cosplay come from?

    It all started when I went to my first comic convention when I was 11 years old. I saw how much work went into some of the costumes people created, ever since then I have been making costumes and going to conventions every year.

    Which is the sexiest item in your wardrobe?

    Hands down my black one piece bodysuit, it’s perfect for a night out or a night in haha.

    Where can we catch you partying on weekends?

    Honestly the party scene was never something I got into but you can probably catch me at the movie theater with my friends for a good night out!

    If you could time travel, where will you like to visit?

    Probably Japan in the feudal era just to see a different culture and time period would be pretty cool .

    What do you find attractive about the opposite sex?

    What I find most attractive about a male or female is respect for others and a genuine personality beyond that anyone who has a sense of humor is the most attractive to me.

    How did your interest in beauty and fashion start?

    I started to like beauty and fashion, when I entered my University life. It was about 8 years ago exactly in 2010.

    What inspired you to start your website?

    Actually the first one I did was to make a YouTube video makeup tutorial, because I really like Michelle Phan, and she is my favourite beauty content creator since 2010. And I got to know makeup and how to dress up because of her videos, so I decided to make the same thing as her. And from there I started blogging, to review some cosmetic products that I have and started my website in 2014.

    How will you describe your fashion style?

    Just two words, SIMPLE and CASUAL.

    Which fashion accessories are a must have for you?

    Sunnies, bag, wristwatch or bracelet.

    Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t had the time to do so?

    I’d love to actively make beauty content on my YouTube channel every week.. But I don’t currently have time to edit the video every week.. I think I need a Video Editor for that LOL.

    If you could collaborate with anyone past or present, who will it be?

    Woooww if I had the chance, I would collaborate with two of my favourite beauty content creators. The first one is Michelle Phan you know her right ? Hehe.. And the second one is Ponys Makeup. She is the most popular Korean Makeup Artist aaarrghh Omg just imagining that makes me happy. I want to make some makeup products with them and also be a good friends with them.. So sweet~~

    What do you not get about guys?

    Uuummmhh their minds, because they are always quick to change their minds. And sometimes it’s hard to understand what a woman wants.

    What is the best compliment you have received?

    I would say the best compliment was when I was at work and I saw two IG followers! They saw me and the younger sister got so shy but the older one was fixing herself as she had her camera ready for some photos with me. I quickly got off my seat and wrapped my arms around them both! The quiet sister said, “You are literally so kind and beautiful in person”. I blushed and I told them I’m just a normal IG user who appreciates your kind words.

    Where did your inspiration to be a singer come from?

    My biggest inspiration and vocal coach is my dad. My dad, AKA the chef in my life, aside from cooking, every time he’s making me food he’s always so happy when he hears a good song or he just sings! He always tells me, in order to make sure the food is flavourful, the cook has to be positive and jolly. To avoid it being bitter! I will always remember how my dad got me my first set of microphones when I was 4? My first song was twinkle twinkle little star. Until this day I also sing where ever I go and I don’t go anywhere without my earphones.

    How is a typical day like for you?

    My day would usually consist of waking up positive, reaching for my phone to check on Instagram like it’s my morning paper. After like telling myself I’ll get up in five minutes usually becomes 15 to 20 mins when I actually get up. I then run downstairs to see if I have any parcels from companies and if I do I take the quickest snap to post and thank them.

    If not I usually cook some breakfast if I feel like it. Hahaha, I like to go for walks to my town center and just try to window shop. Come home watch some Netflix with my parents and end up falling asleep on the couch! Usually everyday I have my “siesta” Spanish side for the afternoon naps! Been doing it ever since I was 6.

    Which fashion accessories are a must have in your collection?

    Damn this is hard! Ahahaha I guess I can’t live without my necklaces/chokers. I don’t know why but like if I’m wearing something plain, something so simple like a necklace can add style, texture, color in my opinion. I also live by my earrings! I am allergic to all sorts of earrings. SHOCKING RIGHT! So I tend to wear it only if my pictures are being taken, selfies even when I actually arrive at the special occasion!

    Are you more of a morning person or night owl?

    This question for me is hard to choose from! Gosh! Mornings for me are a sign of another day to live for to enjoy the day and use every minute that I have. However nights are when I know I can look back on my day and said yes, now I deserve a rest! Do I have to choose? Can I say both? Okay maybe 1% more on the morning.

    If you could have a superpower, which will it be?

    Oh this is is gonna be funny! The thing is I keep changing my superpower dream! It’s between having to fly and control time, or fly and control the weather like Storm from X-Men, But flying is a must, so I may be cheating a little! Thinking about it more, controlling time maybe isn’t the one for me cos I usually am the one that always tells people to enjoy every second that you have. Time is of the essence. So I guess to fly while being able to control the weather to avoid ALL natural disasters! To bring out the sun whenever people needs to tan! Haha. To make it rain for places that suffers from drought.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Oh gosh, I guess the lamest and funniest one would be through Snapchat! Shirtless guy trying to be smooth then bam, he asked for a nude. So I sent him a nude A NUDE MAC LIPSTICK! HAHAHA! I also told him he might catch a cold if he doesn’t wear something! I just don’t like cocky guys.

    No problem at all! I really enjoyed your questions! SEXY for me is not all about showing the skin. Sexy can be something that you do biting your lips, simple touching or even a sexy smile! SEXY for me is about leaving something for the imagination, not BARING IT ALL at once. SEXY is being real. I don’t have anything against surgery but personally for me, I am content of what I have and it’s people’s choice to see me if I am sexy or not. All I know is I do me.

    Relieving Workplace Stress With Talkspace

    Margaret was suffering from too much stress in the workplace. She had been teaching at the same elementary school for six years, having worked under two principals. The first principal was a strong leader and extremely organized but very hard on her as an individual. The second principal was more laid-back and generally not a micro-manager. She would leave Margaret to do her thing most of the time, and this hard-working teacher would only feel stressed during times right before her performance evaluation documents would become due. That’s why the principal would have to visit her classroom (as well as two assistant principals) and make subjective evaluations of her work. These were typically knee-jerk reactions to a few minutes observed in the class, not true reflections of her work. She and her colleagues would suffer from various amounts of anxiety not knowing when their evaluators would come by or what lessons or activities might be taking place during their visit. During the rest of the school year, it was possible to enjoy teaching and not worry about this evaluation process. Margaret had so much stress this year when her teacher started telling her about her new “weakness” in classroom management (for which she had always had high ratings before) that she sought confidential therapy from Talkspace.

    How It Works

    Anyone who suffers from acute or chronic anxiety can benefit from having someone who will not judge them and who will “listen” to their troubles. For a weekly fee, Margaret was able to correspond with a licensed mental health counselor about the problems at work all via text message through the Talkspace service. While Margaret had some conversations with other teachers in her department, she was very careful not to say too much. It felt like the principal was picking on her this year, but she was trying not to be overly paranoid. Talking to her assigned counselor after answering a preliminary questionnaire about her anxiety issues provided just the right amount of relief that she needed from workplace stress. Margaret could talk as little or as much with her assigned counselor. Some days, she found that she needed to message a lot about things happening at school, or it would be hard to make it through the day. The principal seemed to be visiting her classroom more often than others and to be particularly critical in her comments (which were submitted electronically to her employee performance management file). There were other days when Margaret felt that she did not need her counselor’s feedback at all. These were typically days when the principal was busy dealing with other teachers or school events.

    Moving Forward

    Now, Margaret is about ready to complete her year and her evaluation period has passed without any major problems. She was able to focus on her job and relieve her anxiety through text therapy sessions. The principal remains unaware of her high stress related to the entire evaluation process. In the future, Margaret knows that she can use Talkspace to work through other problems and to not use the service when things are going well in her life.

    Your body is your temple and at the time I wasn’t treating it that way! I had to make a change and decided to start at the gym and never looked back!

    How do you motivate yourself?

    If you want something hard enough you have to get up and work for it. The thought of losing a fight is enough motivation.

    Do you have any guilty indulgences for food?

    Peanut butter with a spoon…..

    Is it easier to diet or exercise to lose weight fast?

    Losing weight fast is a big mistake. You will end up yo yo dieting and most likely end up putting more weight on. Just train hard and eat healthy!

    What is a typical day like for yourself?

    Busy! Wake up, eat, train then race to work !

    Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t had the time to do so?

    Thailand! It’s beautiful!

    When they wear their hats the wrong way round, like why…. ?!

    The sexiest item in my wardrobe is not a clothing item, but instead, me. I love being in my skin.

    Either a high scale lounge or roof top bar (I’m in love with city views at night)…. Or even the most random, high energy club. You never know….

    Are you more of a lingerie or bikini babe?

    Both! I love lingerie, but I live in bikinis.

    What do you find attractive about the opposite sex?

    Most attractive quality to me about the opposite sex is a man’s ora, their vibe, and the energy they release onto me. A man’s personality is so important and special.  I also like to feel excited and intrigued about the person I’m talking to, that’s what keeps the chemistry alive.

    Would you rather be able to fly or breathe underwater?

    I would rather fly.  I am a little scared of the ocean and what fun would be to just breathe under a swimming pool.

    Where is your dream holiday destination?

    Cancun, Mexico. It’s just beautiful there. The beaches, the weather, food….

    Is there something you don’t get about guys?

    When girls say “I’m fine” and the guy believes it. Clearly the girl is not fine! How haven’t they figured this yet?

    How do you usually like to spend your weekends?

    As a single mom, my weekends are usually well spent with my son. But I also like to hang out with some friends at a live band cafe/bar enjoying a glass of red wine. It’s just so relaxing! We all need a little down time, right?

    Yes, definitely my left side because I have a dimple on my left side!

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?

    I would say….6? I wouldn’t consider myself a foodie but I would search for healthy food whenever I could.

    Is there any superstition you believe in?

    I’ve been told NEVER to say, “I will never…” and it happened to me so many times where I said “I will never…..” but then I ended up getting it or doing it. I remembered saying that, “I would never date a guy who’s younger than me” but here I am now, dating this guy who is 2 years younger than me, which by the way he makes me happy and I wouldn’t want it any other way. 🙂

    If you could travel to any part of the world for an experience, where will it be?

    I’ve traveled to many places but I’ve always wanted to go to the Maldives with my loved one. It just seems like a very romantic and peaceful place!

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    There was a really aggressive guy who kept telling me how good he is in bed and if I don’t see him, I’m really going to miss out all the fun. I blocked him immediately after that. Thanks, but no thanks. LOL! I think it was really disturbing but also funny at the same time!

    It’s a pleasure to be viewed as interesting enough to be interviewed. I’m just a regular university student in the world city of Sydney, Australia. I’m also a bass player for a band called Evening Espresso. We cover contemporary music from 80s – present, covers, jazz, pop, everything for whatever occasion.

    What is the best compliment you have received?

    The best compliment that I have received are that my brows look good, because I like reply back, “thanks, I got them tattooed on”. It’s just funny to see people’s reactions to that.

    Do you have any hobbies?

    Besides the usual sleeping and eating at different eateries, I love hiking  (even though I’m very unfit). It’s the only time that I truly get to appreciate nature outside of looking at nice scenery photos on Instagram and learning about the environment at university.

    How will you describe your fashion style?

    My fashion style is to wear anything that is cute (for the season and occasion), but most importantly comfortable. Most days, you will find me wearing a t-shirt with a pair of shorts and sneakers. I get my clothes mainly second hand from my mum and friends.

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now?

    I once cried because I didn’t have enough milk for my cereal in front of my friend. In my defence, I was on my period then.

    Is there a food or drink you can’t live without?

    I can’t live without ice cream, despite knowing how bad dairy is for my body and the environment. I am on the look out for some dairy free alternatives, so if anyone can DM me some suggestions that is actually available in Sydney, that would be great.

    If you could time travel, what will you like to experience or witness?

    I would travel to the future, where the world uses only renewable energy and intersectional feminism is what dictates society’s core values.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    From my friend’s memory, apparently a guy said to my dad that he played guitar to impress my dad and me, even though I already knew he didn’t (I come from a family of musicians). Whilst that was happening, I was in a Skype call, on my phone, with my friends, so they could hear everything. Then, they were just writing in the Skype conversation “make him stop or else we’re gonna fight him”. It’s not cool to say random things to impress people.
