Who is Candice Liang?
Aloha everyone, this is Candice, island girl, living up in Hawaii currently. Student at University of Hawaii at Manoa, studying International Business and Communicology (remarkable major). Love dancing and singing. World Traveler. Adventurer. Free spirit. Spontaneous. Passionate. Positive vibes only. Touch chick but romantic inside, strong also very kind and soft heart.
What’s one fun fact about yourself?
“Good morning sunshine” makes my heart skip a beat.

Your most memorable highlight or achievement so far?
One of my life-changing experience: When I was 20, I went to Trincomalee, Sri Lanka to be an international Volunteer to teach English in a poor village. Extremely hard living condition, but powerful/inspirational motivation. The kids there have the purest and kindest heart, with the most beautiful smile on their face. The day before I left, the kids from 3rd grade to 11th grade, almost everyone drew me a card, they were even willing to give me something SO meaningful to them in life to thank me, they cried, asked me to stay. I thought I was just like a big sister to them, taking care of them, helping them whenever they need, teaching and giving them everything I could and have, encouraging them to step out of the comfort zone and go see the world someday.
Until one of the girl from 11th grade came to me and hugged me while crying, she said “Teacher, I promise that I will go to the best university in Sri Lanka.” then she said something completely changed my life, “Teacher, I love you, you are not my teacher, you are my mother.” I burst into tears immediately and realized, you could make a wish or make it happen, the smallest good deed is way better than the grandest attentions, if you want to change the world, even people think you are crazy, as long as you put effort and never give up you can, like Steve Job said, “Because The People Who Are Crazy Enough To Think They Can Change The World, Are The Ones Who Do.” And trust me the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true. 🙂
Working (Interpreter) for curling championships, Olympic Games, meeting the presidents from different NOCs (National Olympic Committees), traveling all over whenever I can interacting with so many characters who have the most interesting and unique life stories, and learn a little thing from everyone I met in life.
But making my parents and grandma happy and proud is what I feel proud and satisfied the most.
Do you have any hobbies?
Yes. Love sing and dancing, played the piano since I was 4. Hiking. Swimming. Outdoor activities. Skydiving. Adrenaline rushes. Obsessed with adventures and traveling 🙂 But I also enjoy quality times with families and friends, a cup of coffee and a book can make a good afternoon as well.
Most embarrassing thing you’ve experienced during a vacation?
I told someone that “I love you’ when I seriously just wanted to say “I think I like you and I’ll miss you.” as a goodbye before my flight. And he was completely shocked but said “I love you too.” I guess he’s just creating a reciprocal influence with me. Haha.
Three things you can’t leave home without when going on a trip?
Phone; Wallet/ID/Family pictures all in one; backpack with one of my stuffed animal(puppy)/my travel buddy. Haha.
Do you have any superstitions?
When my left eye lid is twitching, either I will soon receive money or some good news is coming. Like good luck is by my side. And when my right eye lid is twitching… Something not that pleasant/good will happen, like getting wet by rain, or raw egg cracking in my bag, or getting hit by the kayak and flipping over in the ocean in a beautiful day… Things like that. It’s like a sign for me that I know something’s gonna happen. Small or big.
And somehow it’s ALWAYS right…
Are you more comfortable in lingerie or bikini?
Bikini. Life is always better at the beach. 🙂
What’s the sexiest thing about Hawaii?
Adventures. Spontaneous. Open-minded. Friendly. Everyone gets to be themselves. We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.

None of us understand what we are doing, but we do beautiful things anyway. Being true to yourself never goes out of style. Life’s full of surprises, enjoy this moment for this moment is your life! Just follow your heart and your dreams, don’t give up, you are definitely stronger than you think!
“I might only have one match/But I can make an explosion.” That line is proving to be quite prophetic. An emotional, uplifting ode to believing in one’s self. The positive and powerful message helps me through the difficult times, when I question myself if I should continue to keep going with my dreams and this tiny little voice in my head wouldn’t let me give up. Sky has no limits, live the life you have imagined.
