Sharing My Sex Work Experiences

As far as I can remember, I’ve always been intrigued by sex work. It started when I found some erotic magazines of my dad, followed by seeing strippers or escorts in movies. After that, watching my first porno. But what really intrigued me was when I first met my first professional escort. I had to know more! Remembering My First Client Experience

I remember like it was yesterday, I feel it’s something you never forget. At the time, I was lucky enough to work with an agency that cared about us. She made sure my first client was a good client, he ended up being a regular of mine afterwards until I moved out of Quebec City. For the purpose of this interview, let’s call him Mike.

I was so nervous to see him since I didn’t know what to expect at all. I met him in a motel around 9pm. When Mike opened the door I could see he was about 30-35 , and he looked a little bit nervous. With time I found out he was not really nervous but it’s just how he is. Talks extremely fast and seems anxious all the time. We talked a little bit at the beginning and then proceeded to the main action. I can still taste the mix of mouthwash and cigarette in his mouth. All I can say is he respected all my boundaries and didn’t push me around to do anything.

How My Experiences Have Generally Been

In general, most of my experiences were positive with the agency and since I started to be independent. I had a couple of bad ones here and there while I was learning the ropes of the industry but most of it was good. Only really bad experience would be that I got robbed on my first tour in Vancouver. At the time I didn’t know about references, screening process or asking for a deposit. I was lucky enough to not have too much money with me and that he didn’t hurt me too much.

What Constitutes A Good Experience To Me

I feel that what I would consider a good experience is when there is chemistry with both of you and the person understand and respect all your boundaries. As much as I do enjoy a dinner date or travel, this doesn’t mean it will be a good experience… some of my best times were seeing someone for about two hours since it leaves us time to get to know each other a little bit more and make the “stress” go away.

I won’t lie about the fact that I do enjoy being treated like the goddess that I am, so a good diner with good drinks never hurts… A little gift here and there as well.

Have You Had Any Unfortunate Experiences?

As mentioned earlier, I did get robbed once. Also I did encounter some drunk and hard drug users when I tried working late nights. I had a guy also when I first started with the agency I was with that tried to take the condom off while I wasn’t facing him, luckily I caught him in time. He was banned afterwards from the agency.

Now that I know more about all the screening process, I haven’t had any bad experience. It is not a 100% sure deal while screening but prevents a lot of bad encounter. Asking for a deposit as well helps weed out the robbers and time wasters.

Advice For New Sex Workers

Don’t stress yourself out, at the beginning we all make mistakes and probably don’t know exactly what we are doing. But I really believe screening really helps. Also, don’t be shy to ask others for tips when you begin. I know some other SW aren’t too keen about giving help on how to or give tips but a lot are really helpful when they know you are beginning.

What Is It Like To Be A Cosplayer?

I really like cosplay, I consider myself to still be relatively new. I got introduced to it by a coworker I’d become friends with (Thanks Alice!). I’ve always enjoyed films and writing and generally escaping from the real world but this was a whole new level – and also put my clothes making b-tech to good use.

Challenges Of Being A Cosplayer

I wouldn’t say it was difficult per se but it definitely has it’s challenges! One being money, to buy them or to make your own can cost a pretty penny but I try to look at ways of bringing the costs down. For example, I get most of my pieces from charity shops and the accessories from cheap sites like Wish or Ebay. I have even bought a decent wig from wish but also bought a few bad ones too. Most of it is down to trial and error.

At the same time there are a lot of simple cosplays like Wednesday from the Adams family… all you really need is a white blouse collar and a black dress and maybe a wig if you don’t have long brown/black hair. But if you’re going easy and cheap then you would probably go with one that has your hair colour.

Process Of Choosing A Character To Cosplay

I decide my cosplays depending on my situation. I’m a student so I don’t have the money to go around buying loads of fabric for a Cinderella dress. I would also suggest, if you’re making it from scratch make sure you have some sort of passion for the character! Also reference pictures!! Front, back, side, any accessories and makeup.

Misconceptions About Cosplayers

I often hear that you’re not a good cosplayer if it’s not accurate to the actual character…. This is not true! I’ve seen female versions of male characters and vice versa and they look amazing, or those casual princess ones I’ve heard people say they’re a cop out etc. But I’ve actually got some planned so I don’t care! Do whatever you want to do! (within reason, don’t do blackface… stay classy).

Tips To Know Before Being A Cosplayer

It’s not about likes on Instagram or Facebook! I went to a cosplay day at my work as Ciri from the Witcher (I work in a board game library and it was an event, I’m not that weird) and I was the only one the whole day… did I get embarrassed or self-conscious? A little but ultimately the amount of people who came up to me and complimented me or helped me out when my corset split and even tipped me… It made it all worth it and you walk away beaming!

What It’s Like To Be A Nail Artist

My personal views towards beauty and fashion:

This circle called ‘fashion and beauty’ always develops, including how we put our clothes and put our makeup on, how we dress ourselves. People’s views about beauty and fashion are always shifting over time. In the past, they have many or certain standards to be declared beautiful or fashionable. As time goes by, people’s perspectives are changing (the beauty and fashion world evolved very fast). Therefore many new ideas are born, so they begin to accept that beauty and fashion are unique in many ways.

I believe that beauty and fashion trends will continue to expand themselves to be more amazing than then and now.

I think a more expansive world has arrived where ‘we are all beautiful‘ in our own style (if we can rock it well).

What Got Me Started As A Nail Artist

I’m obsessed with nails, nail arts and all things nails from senior high, but not the ‘gel’ nail polish , it’s the basic nail polish. I got my first ‘nail gel’ done during the last semester of college (I took faculty of interior design). I think ‘nail gel’ is amazing, they are really durable, very shiny and beautiful, even just the basic one color gel, or just glitter gel (they are already perfect).

After three times of doing the nail gel, I decided to learn how to make it because it’s hard to achieve the design that I want it to be, because I majored in design and I love art from elementary school, so it’s easier for me when I am studying about nail art or nail design. After learning and studying nail gel for four months, (and finished my college) I started working in an interior design office as an interior designer, at the same time I also started the profession as a nail artist (August 2018).

What I Love About Being A Nail Artist

I love doing nails, exploring many nail designs, and how to make nails to become more beautiful in any shape, even the short ones. I don’t want people to think that short nails are ugly, I want people to know that all forms of nails can be beautiful. I love to treat my customers’ nails, I love seeing them happy to have their nails done. I have joy when I’m doing nails, and I also got lots of friends from being a nail artist.

I learned that small things matter in many ways (in life, even when I decorate my customer nails) , and if you care about your nails, I think you are the people who have high consideration for anything, because you care about nails, even though they are small.

I also can meet a lot of new people. I’ve also made nails for Miss Earth Indonesia 2019 and Putri Pariwisata Indonesia 2019.

Is It Difficult To Be A Nail Artist?

It all depends. You have to be diligent, every time you make nails you need to study their nails, each customer’s nails have their own challenge. You need to practice, so you will get better over time , don’t forget that practice makes you perfect .

Take a few nail classes, so you can upgrade your skills. Look for references too.

Keeping In Touch With Latest Fashion Trends

It’s really important to search for new trends in nails.

In magazines (there are so many nail magazines that teach about nails and discuss the latest trends) or in other alternatives like Pinterest, Instagram, the internet. The change of seasons also influences nail trends. If winter comes, they want their nails to have hand painted snowflakes, or a Christmas vibe on their nails. If spring comes they want flowers, or sakura nails. it all depends. But as a nail artist we can give them ideas, choices or options and which design that suits their nails.

Advice For Aspiring Nail Artists

Don’t be afraid to start new things, just do it 🙂

Do it with heart, it will be reflected in the nails you made. Our work is work that sells a service, so we must have a sincere heart to serve. So we can see the smile of our client and customers.

Do it with joy, and learn from mistakes, keep learning everyday, and learn to always follow the latest trends.

Hi! Thank you for having me today. My name is Kazuko Otsuka. I’m a half Japanese and half Filipino born and raised in the Philippines. After I graduated college, I move to Japan. It’s been three years since then.

I’m quite introverted and like to spend my time at home playing video games and watching series.

A year ago, I tried my hand at modeling and came to really enjoy it. It’s not a very “Kazu” thing to do given my personality, but I’m really thankful I tried it out. I’m really challenged doing it and feel like a different person when I see the work created. Now, I mostly do freelance modeling.

What inspires your fashion style?

To be honest, I know nothing about fashion. Growing up, I was that kid who wore the same shirt and jeans three days in a row. I don’t know anything about coordinating clothes and such. It is my boyfriend who styles me for my shoots. He has more fashion sense than I could even dream of.

How much of a foodie are you and what are your favorites?

I’m not a big foodie. However, being that my father was a sushi chef, I was surrounded by food and know a lot about it. Back in the Philippines, we have a family owned Japanese restaurant called Hanakazu. My favorite Filipino food is Menudo and my favorite Japanese food is Ebi Fry.

Which flavor best describes you?

I’m definitely not vanilla or strawberry. My personality is not too outgoing for that. If I were to pick a flavor, I’d probably be caramel? I’m not the main attraction but like to complement others. I’ll be the topping on vanilla ice cream.

Do you believe in any superstition?

Growing up in the Philippines, I always heard different superstitions. I never really paid much attention to them.

Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now when looking back?

On the top of my head, the only embarrassing situation I can recall was when I got called out in high school for having a blog. It’s hard to explain everything for it to make sense, but let’s just say I grew up in a very strict environment where our pastors were also our teachers. I made a blog where I uploaded my poems, and I almost got suspended for it. When this happened, I was so embarrassed and felt so bad about it. Now, I realize, there was nothing wrong about it.

If you could learn anything in this world, what will it be?

If I could learn anything in this world and be good at it, I’d want to learn how to code.

What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

The funniest or maybe lamest attempt a guy tried to get to know me must have been when someone took my name down during an exam and searched me on Facebook. Everyone’s names were called out one by one before the exam. The guy must have jotted it down during that time. I found his message a year after in my inbox and it cracked me up. His message went something like, “Your name was so interesting that I had to look it up.”

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Kazuko. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy for me is definitely tied to one’s intelligence. Sexiness lies on the eye’s of the beholder. One person could be considered sexy to another and not sexy to someone else. When it comes down to it, the outward appearance of a person is not enough for that person to be called sexy. A person’s maturity level is sexy.

Why I’m Proud To Be In Sex Work (Part II)

To me as a SW, It is important to look past peoples’ flaws, and to cater to their needs. If someone is disrespectful or totally unpleasant, I will simply not see him again. If he is respectful and caring, that is all that matters to me.

You are not gonna get along or have chemistry with everybody and not everyone is gonna like you but that is okay too. Not everyone is going to be a repeated client, and that is ok too. I think if I meet someone where it doesn’t click, or if it gets uncomfortable I try to lighten things up with a small gesture, initiate contact, take their hands, and place them on me. At the end of the day, they pay for your services, they crave your body, and your pleasure, it does not really matter if you get along or not, as long as they are respectful. If they are not respectful or totally unpleasant, I will either tell them to leave or block them after our meeting to prevent them from contacting me again. To avoid such situations, I usually only see clients that are 30 or older and I try to read them through their initial communication with me, but sometimes it is not enough, and you are gonna come across people that you cannot stand.

I had people making me extremely uncomfortable. I can give examples, some men I have experienced focus on what they expect from you instead of focusing on you. “Call me daddy, when you first open the door, hug me, take me to the bedroom and bend over.” I mean that might sound sexy coming from a boyfriend, but with a client that you meet for the first time, it takes time to get comfortable and it is totally out of place to behave like this.

I am shocked to hear from some of them. ”Pardon me? I am not a sexual robot, I am a person with feelings that you are supposed to be considerate towards to make this an enjoyable experience” I want clients that are trying to get to know me because they first liked my profile and description. I will refuse any immature clients that see me solely for my body and treat me like I am not a women with feelings too. It really takes two people to make a sexual or any experience enjoyable. Men with this attitude will never please any women.

Some will tell you how to behave in the bedroom, it is such a turn off for me because the whole beauty of sexuality is to be 100% yourself even it can get weird or gross, it does not matter as long as it is enjoyable for you and in accordance with the provider rules. I also do not like when men ask me what I like while we are at it. I mean it is totally respectful and a normal behavior to wonder if the other person likes it or not, but I would rather have me tell them or them trying it on me. Just go for it and if I don’t like it, I will say so. I think every women likes a men that can be confident, is in charge and expresses his own desires without asking how it is done even if it is not done perfectly. And the same goes for women. I think the biggest turn on for everybody, is a person that is fully herself and doing what makes him/her enjoying himself/herself while being considerate of the other persons’ pleasure of course.

Some will mention their wife to me, that is something that I hate. “Let me talk to you later, I am with my wife right now.” It is ok to mention it or discreetly let me know but sometimes it gets too much. I am a woman, and like any other women, I like to feel special, and feel respected and your first contact and communication with me will greatly change how I feel about you and how much I will enjoy our experience.

But again, every service worker is different and their style and type of services is also different. I would rather provide a girlfriend experience, but I am always open to different requests and trying new things and fetishes with a client that likes me. It is not always the action itself that I like or not, that turns me on or off, but the connection I have with the men that I meet.

Why I’m Proud To Be A Sex Worker

I would say that I am proud to talk and to be open about it because it shows how confident I am as a person. A lot of people rely on other peoples’ opinions to make their own, but I think we should rely on ourselves and on who we are, on how we feel and on what makes us truly happy. It reminds me everyday to never ever let someone bring me down for what I do or any decision I make, no matter what the majority of people think, it reminds me everyday how important it is to stand for yourself even if you are standing alone. And not a lot of people understands that. It takes a lot of wisdom and courage.

I’m from South Africa, I’m an internationally published model and a mom to my son Connor.

Where did your inspiration to be a model come from?

My mom entered my images into competitions from a young age. When I got to high school, I became extremely shy so I stopped completely.

What is the toughest or most challenging photoshoot have you experienced before?

The most challenging shoot I had was with my favorite photographer Danny Steyn. It was my first nude shoot, I had no idea what to expect and I had to be beside an experienced Playmate.

How is a typical day like for yourself?

I have an engineering company with my partner, a typical day I would be at work till late in the night.

Do you have any favorite quotes or mottos you use?

“I think the female body is exquisite so, I don’t feel funny about nudity”

If you could live the life of someone else for a week, who will you like to choose?

Taylor Selfridge, she is drop dead gorgeous, and down to earth.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a party animal are you?

0, I don’t go to clubs at all, I’ve never been drunk, and not interested in that lifestyle.

What is a lame or awkward attempt a guy has tried to know you?

A guy created different Instagram profiles and tried with each one to contact me. I’ve seen catfish LOL so I Google searched the images and discovered the real person.

When someone is direct, that is sexy to me. I’m not interested in six packs etc. I prefer someone that can make me laugh.
