    I’m a full-time model, actor, and influencer living in Manhattan, New York City. I grew up in Wales and England and was formerly a journalist — I was an editor at BuzzFeed for 4 years and covered books and culture. Before that, I worked in digital marketing for book publishers like Penguin Random House and HarperCollins.

    I graduated early from NYU at the end of 2014, and attended Choate Rosemary Hall for prep school — I studied web programming, creative writing, and psychology, none of which I really use anymore today (beyond occasionally coding troll Twitter bots). For fun, I’m an avid long-distance runner, pie baker, classically trained pianist, and cat mom to @potatobengal. I also produce and write arrangements of songs in 3-4 part harmony, and am currently working on releasing original music as well.

    Was being a model and actor something you’ve always wanted to do growing up?

    It wasn’t a career path I considered because I didn’t see many Asian models and actors. I’ve always enjoyed writing and reading so I wanted to pursue poetry and screenwriting in childhood. I was the poetry editor for NYU’s literary magazine for a couple of years before I graduated, and I also edited my prep school’s lit mag.

    I never considered poetry as a viable career as most writing isn’t lucrative, but it’s still fun. I actually had thought about working in tech because I enjoyed coding websites from a young age and because it runs in the family (both of my parents have computer engineering PhDs), but ultimately decided it wasn’t for me.

    How do you keep up to date with all the latest fashion styles and trends?

    I’m old-school, I still read magazines. I’ll turn to VOGUE, for example, to help spark new inspiration for editorial shoots sometimes. Instagram and other digital sites are easy to browse through too, and I also enjoy looking at the wardrobe choices in TV series or films I like.

    What is your proudest achievement so far?

    Last October I ran a half marathon race for the first time as part of a sponsorship with ASICS. I was on the cross-country running team in school but hadn’t done any races longer than 10K for a few years. The 13.1 miles really pushed me physically. I trained for about 10 weeks, and finished the race in 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 49 seconds.

    Do you have a strict beauty or exercise regime that you follow?

    I love skincare and stick to the same products once I find something that works for me. My exercise routine tends to be more fluid — I focus on strength training and weightlifting, but I like mixing it up too.

    If you could collaborate with anyone past or present, who will it be?

    Sandra Oh is one of my favorite actors and I’d love to be able to work with her someday.

    Do you have any other hobbies or interests?

    I enjoy playing classical piano, baking pies, cooking in general, long-distance running, and taking care of my bengal cat Potato (he has his own Instagram @potatobengal). My other passions include karaoke, graphic design, video games (I used to stream Fortnite), coding Twitter bots, and playing the ukulele very badly. I’ve also begun dabbling more in photography lately. I’m currently focusing on writing and releasing more music on Spotify.

    What is a funny attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Someone once tried to slide into the DMs of my cat’s Instagram account, which is even more silly because I post photos of my boyfriend on that account all the time!

    I started modeling when I was six years old and from 2015, I’m produced by MMG Trend Production. I realized many shootings in almost all over the world. I have four songs available on all Digital Stores and YouTube.

    Was singing something that you always had an interest in since you were a child?

    Yes, I always sing since I was really young, Italian and foreign songs, in particular with my grandma.

    What do you find most challenging about being a singer?

    I think the hardest thing is to have the constancy to practice every day with the right exercises, and you will never stop to learn.

    Then for a very shy person like me, every time before going on stage it’s really difficult and I get anxiety. Then as soon as you get on stage, everything changes and it’s the most exciting experience you can have.

    Are there any mottos and quotes you like to use regularly?

    “Let’s go!”, “Never give up!”

    With my songs I always try to explain to my followers that you must never give up. Dreams must be chased with head held high, always. With determination and commitment, dreams can come true.

    If you had the opportunity to learn anything in this world, what will it be?

    I think the ability to speak all the languages of the world. I love to study new languages, even the very difficult ones because it would be nice to be able to communicate with everyone.

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?

    10! I love adventure! I have made exciting and adventurous journeys during my life and the most beautiful was in America. With a motorhome we ventured from Los Angeles to Chicago. I saw and explored deserts, cities and pristine spaces.

    How do you like to spend your free time?

    I like to draw, riding horses, shopping and staying with my family.

    What turns you off on a date?

    Disrespect. I think that respect is essential for any form of relationship.

    Yes. Morning yoga is mandatory. Yoga leaves me feeling blessed.

    I adore Irina Sheyk , for me, she is an icon of style. Her pitch and grace are inspiring. I wish to collaborate with her once.

    Do you have any other hobbies or interests?

    Yes, I do. Traveling, meditation, self-education, books, play tennis, cooking, tasting vines in vineyards, hiking, and many many things.

    What do you not get about guys?

    Honestly? I don’t understand polygamy. maybe because I am monogamous and I do not understand how you can feel feelings for different people at the same time. Yes. this is not only for guys but also for girls, but still for guys in the majority.

    Hi~ I’m really glad to have this opportunity! I’m 19 years old, a Russian cosplayer, the head of cosplay group Neko+Chiral and a foreign philology student. My hometown is Izhevsk (it’s the hometown of AK-47). I’m not a professional cosplayer (I want to be!), but I take sewing commissions as a part-time job. Also, I do art-fencing when my health lets me.

    How did you get started into cosplay?

    Well , I’ve been fascinated by the cosplay world since I was 11! I even tried to do research for Kagamine Rin and Ciel Phantomhive cosplays and volunteered at an anime convention, but I’ve had zero experience at this type of things (and zero money too) so my plans were just plans.

    Later, when I turned 15 my friend asked me if I wanted to attend the new convention in our town as her partner in a stage performance. Con preparations were really spontaneous, we ordered a costume from a cosplay seamstress from another town and a wig from Ali-express. The costume was delivered to me just on the day of the convention (imagine how embarrassing that is) and it turned out that the costume was HUUUUGE.

    Also I had poorly glued fake lashes, eyebrows covered with soap and I forgot to take props for a performance. Despite all of this, we got second place in the performance competition.

    What have you learnt so far in your time of cosplaying?

    Redbull is the god of energy drinks, especially when you don’t sleep three days in con crunch, while having a cold 😀

    But seriously, cosplay taught me a lot: to meet new people, to easily communicate with them, it taught me leadership and responsibility. I learned to express my emotions through a character and also to bring art and creativity into whatever I do.

    And of course I’ve learned to sew, craft, do makeup, style wigs, draw, dance, airbrush, to do stage fights and acting etc.

    Which beauty products do you use regularly?

    Actually I don’t use any beauty products constantly, except, maybe, “Dolce milk” lip balms, they’re amazing. I have a dry skin, so I do use moisturizer and sunscreen when I go out.

    How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?

    It depends, but it would be more interesting for you to take, for example, a photoshoot day.

    I wake up early because I have a lot to do. I don’t eat since I’m quite anxious about my waist being too big. If I have something unfinished in my costume, I finish it, then iron the costume and check if everything is there including props for a photoshoot (fake flowers, books, fake blood, etc.). Later I do my makeup and wear at least a part of the costume, so I don’t have to waste time at the studio (yes, I leave my house wearing cosplay). Also, I have my friends assisting with the photoshoot, so I meet them beforehand.

    After a photoshoot we usually go to KFC cause gosh, I’m always so hungry and exhausted after shooting for an hour or two. And then finally I have time to rest and watch something or play video games. Trying to work after a photoshoot is a torture for a body, so I won’t even touch my current projects before the next morning.

    Is there a place or city you have always wanted to travel to for a visit?

    I’ve been dreaming of going to Japan since I was a child! I want to visit maid cafes, butler cafes, all of these merchandise shops. And also, it would be amazing to shoot a cosplay in Japan!

    Would you rather have the power to mind read or teleport?

    Oh I wish to be able to teleport wherever I want with all of my heavy props and costumes. A road to a convention town can take up to 36 hours. It’s not only a waste of precious time in which you could rest or finish your costume, but a way to exhaust yourself before even arriving.

    What is an ideal first date to you?

    There’s no such thing as an ideal first date for me. If a person is interesting and supportive, it would be ideal even on a park bench with McDonalds’s food.

    Well that’s difficult. I guess for me it means somebody confident and attractive. But mostly confident. I mean looking so confident, so I won’t even mind if they press me to the wall like it’s typically done in anime.

    How long have you been cosplaying and why do you love it?

    I’ve been doing cosplay for two years now. It is my main hobby now. I really love to do it because I helps me to develop my photography, makeup, and blogging skills. 

    Which characters do you love to cosplay and why?

    It’s very hard to choose. I usually get attracted by cute characters, who are also powerful and strong at the same time. I think they look like me.

    Another important thing in choosing a character is a beautiful outfit.

    Which is a memorable cosplaying experience you had that you can share with us?

    The most memorable cosplaying experience is visiting my first cosplay convention. A lot of people took photos with me and sometimes gave advice in cosplays. I was very shy and anxious, but really happy to see all of them.

    How popular is cosplay in Russia?

    We have a lot of cosplay conventions in Russia. Russian cosplayers are known all over the world for their creativity and high-quality crafts and costumes.

    If you could be a superhero or super villain for real, who will it be?

    I wish to become a superhero. My dream is to help people with their problems. I want to be able to teleport and fly.

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?

    I think 8, because doing cosplay is quite an unusual adventure for me.

    What is a lame or awkward attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    The most awkward moment I remembered was that time, when one of my subscribers was texting my Instagram asking for my home address and if he could meet me. Of course, I refused him. It was very strange and bothered me a lot. I usually try to communicate with my followers politely.

    What hobbies or interests do you have?

    I love dancing! I grew up taking ballet but recently started learning country dances which I love. I also enjoy cooking and finding new recipes, and I actually really like cleaning and modeling for fun!

    Where do you usually love to shop from?

    Since I am so petite it can be very hard to find clothes that fit me and still make me look mature. I have found that Garage is the best store for me, but I enjoy hunting for a good item at Goodwill or Platos Closet.

    How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?

    I would describe a typical day as busy. I am a morning person so I wake up around 7 with my dog. I workout, I study, I decide what I will make for dinner, and if it is sunny outside I tan.

    Do you follow a beauty regime strictly?

    No, I do not follow a strict beauty regime. I actually prefer not to wear makeup. The most important thing to me is washing my face twice a day and staying moisturized.

    Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?

    I definitely want to travel in the future, but being a full time student makes it very hard to find the time for it. I would love to go to Hawaii!

    Would you rather have the ability to talk to animals or time travel?

    I would much rather be able to talk to animals! I love all animals and spend a lot of time around goats, horses, ducks, chickens and donkeys. I also have the most precious Husky, and I would love to be able to talk to them.

    What do you not get about guys?

    One thing I do not understand about guys is why they won’t ask for directions. It sounds so silly, but there have been so many times that I have witnessed a guy not wanting to ask for help.

    Was the area of health and fitness something that you had interest in since you were a child?

    Yes. growing up I was bullied for being skinny; so bodybuilding always intrigued me.

    Which common reasons or excuses do you often hear from those who don’t exercise?

    ‘I don’t have time’

    How is your workout regime like typically?

    I strength train 6 times per week and perform cardio 6 times a week. Sunday is my rest day.

    Is there any food or drink you don’t take?

    No food is off limit, however my diet mainly consists of nutrient dense whole foods. I reserve alcohol for special occasions; typically I do not drink.

    If you had the opportunity to learn anything in this world, what will it be?

    How to swim.

    Do you have any other hobbies and interests?

    Reading and bedazzling competition bikinis. I have a company called Ice Bikinis.

    What do you not get about the opposite sex?

    Why they like to play games. This is also applicable to grown folks of both gender.

    Hello kittens. My name is Alice. I come from a far distant Russia, where people drink vodka Bearback. I’m a cosplayer, blogger and even a Tiktoker, no matter how scary the last paragraph sounds, I’m not afraid to admit it.

    By profession, I am a mobile app designer and I love everything related to design and drawing. I also love games and I have my own small channel on YouTube, where I talk about games and everything that is connected with them.. 

    How did your interest in cosplaying come about?

    When I was in the last grade of school, my friends got a game on PSP bleach. We spent a lot of time playing it during lessons LOL. At some point, I wanted to take top billing and I began to watch this anime to understand who was the coolest. And I didn’t notice how I liked the anime itself, and a little later after watching a couple of hundred animes, I realized that I wanted to translate the characters I liked in real life.

    Which was your most challenging cosplay character you have done so far?

    This is definitely Raftalia from the Rice of the Shield Hero. I had to sew the cloth part of the costume and at the same time, find a 3D designer who can make her sword only from anime frames and approximate sizes. Since then, I prefer not to make characters from ongoings.

    What is a typical day like for you?

    I get up quite late, usually around 10 in the morning. I reply to work mail and comments on social networks. Sometimes I go to the office, but I prefer to work remotely. If I have time, I can play a little or retouch the photos. Most often, of course I work until 6pm and drawing layouts in Figma.

    In the evening, I prefer to meet friends or watch anime in good company. Unfortunately, the life of the cosplayer is not as interesting as many people think.

    If you could be an anime or cartoon character for real, who will you be?

    I think I would definitely be Chokola from Nekopara. I’m the same fidget and love to eat.

     

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?

    I think 10. I really like to eat very tasty food. As Kojima used to say, what’s the point of living if you don’t eat deliciously? Or did Chuck Norris say it?

    Would you rather have the ability to stop time or talk to animals?

    I’m calling a Khajiit, and it means that of being here and thinking of nothing. Of course, to stop time, so I can rob any bank.

     

    What is a funny or lame attempt a guy has tried to know you before?

    One dude jokingly offered me $500 if I answered him, I wrote to him that I’m not such a girl, but $500 is $500. I really love people with a good sense of humor.

    Hey! I feel honored to be doing an interview with you guys! I’m originally from upstate NY in the Adirondacks but I live in Albany now. I graduated from Siena College with a Creative Arts Degree, and work full time at hooters. Along with modeling, I enjoy painting and hanging out with my bulldog, Bruce. I also enjoy traveling with him and my boyfriend. Spending time with friends and family is one of my top favorite things to do, too!

    How did you get started into modeling?

    I had done a few collab shoots when one of my managers told me I should consider submitting to the Hooters Calendar. I was nervous because I think I lacked confidence. I decided to give it a try. I wondered and hoped I would make it in. Months later on a family trip to Italy, I received the call that I had made it! I think that’s when I really felt confident about modeling and where my story began.

    Are there any perks you love or enjoy most about being a model?

    As a kid, my friends and I would dress up and do photoshoots constantly. I loved it, but being in such a small area there was a lack of opportunity. Now that I live in a slightly larger place I have been consistently shooting. It makes me feel like I’m making younger me proud! I also love being able to portray different versions of myself through modeling. One shoot I can be laughing and quirky, while the next shoot can be sensual and flirty!

    Which genre of modeling do you most like to do?

    I have the most experience in bikini/boudoir, but I really love it all and I’m up for the challenge of shooting new genres I have yet to try. After all, each shoot is a learning experience and a really great way to get to know yourself more.

    Is there any food or drink you don’t take?

    I am not a picky eater/drinker. But I do prefer snack foods over a typical meal, And I do NOT like beets, or Jameson!

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?

    I LOVE traveling and trying new things so as far as that goes, I’ll give myself a 10. Although I’m not a huge risk taker, I have done some thrilling things!

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now when you look back?

    Funny you should ask… I was recently “biking” here in Georgia with my boyfriend and his family where I quickly realized bicycling is NOT one of my strengths. As we were nearing the entrance of the path I got nervous seeing people walking towards me. I tried to do an immediate stop and fell off of the bike, my water bottle went flying, and I basically crashed!

    A younger girl kindly asked if I was ok and I awkwardly responded, “yes thank you I haven’t ridden a bike in years!” I almost cried. I was so embarrassed! (It happened a few more times along the way) But it’s funny now hahaha!

    As strange as this sounds I can’t name one but that might be because I always just assume someone is being nice and friendly and nothing more.

    My name is Valerie, and I’m a model and artist living in LA. I grew up in NYC and Vegas before moving to LA for college, so I’ve been living in big cities my whole life. Being around so many different cultures and creatives, I was really inspired to start creating art myself.

    What inspired you to be a model?

    I love creating and connecting with an audience. I started off with painting, mostly in working with fluid mediums and bright colors, as well as some nature photography. Modeling just seemed like another creative outlet to express myself.

    Is posing on camera a lot harder than it looks?

    Posing on camera may come naturally to some people, but for me it took some adjusting. I used to be really camera shy and tried emulating poses I’ve seen other girls doing, but I’ve found my favorite photos that come out of a shoot are usually the ones where I’m just smiling or laughing because that’s how my natural personality is off camera.

    Which is a memorable or unforgettable photoshoot experience have you had?

    The most memorable shoot I’ve done was at Venice Beach because it was completely packed with people. Walking around in those crazy outfits, pretty much every person I waked passed was staring, and many decided to even take their own pictures of me. I got to meet so many new and different people, and everyone I spoke to was super nice and supportive!

    Do you follow a strict beauty and exercise regime?

    I don’t really have a beauty regimen, I just try to go bare-faced as much as possible to avoid clogging my pores and breaking out. I also follow a mostly vegan diet, with the exception of fish on occasion to get my Omega-3’s, Iron , and B12.

    As for exercise, I weight-lift every other day, giving my body a day in between to rest and recover. On my off days I either do some light exercise like yoga for an hour, or I do just 15 minutes of HIIT training.

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of a fashionista are you?

    As a model, I do need to keep a closet of fashionable outfits that will photograph well and create a memorable photo. However, when I’m not modeling I like to wear a lot of things I find from thrift shops that might be currently out of style but have character. I also really prefer being comfortable over fashionable in my free time, but I do love wearing bright colors!

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now when you look back?

    I peed my pants from laughing too hard on shrooms LOL.

    What is a lame or funny attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    The funniest thing a guy has ever done to woo me was show up at my doorstep decked out in a glitter suit, blasting “Must Be With You” by the Pussycat Dolls from his car stereo. Definitely will never forget that.

    I define sexy as owning who you are and not being afraid to share that with others.
