Actress & Host Gladys Bay

Hi, I’m Gladys, a bilingual presenter-host, actress, and voice over artist from Singapore. I also love to dance. I’m also really into self-care, mental health, and environmental friendliness.

Was being an actress and host something you envisioned doing since you were a child?

I never thought I could become an actress or a host, due to a lack of confidence but I did want to be one.

Which is a memorable hosting experience you have had before?

One of my most memorable hosting experiences would be hosting for the District Race back in 2019. It was one of the rare occasions I cohosted with someone else. He was flown in by the client from Australia and had so much energy. Vibing together with someone else and hosting the event was more enjoyable than usual.

Is acting and being on camera a lot harder than most people think?

I think to each their own. Some people find acting and being on camera uncomfortable, while some find socializing and making friends more difficult than being on camera. What is hard is different for everyone. But no job is easy, neither is acting.

What are 3 fun things you like to do in the city you live in?

I love chilling at the park/beach, sky gazing, and enjoying a good cup of hot chocolate at a nice café.

Do you follow a beauty regime to looking so fabulous?

I never thought “fabulous” would be a word to describe myself so thank you for that. My beauty regime is simple and often random. I make sure to never skip moisturizer, eye cream, and sunblock (in the day). Any other skincare I put on my face is probably something random I bought because the ingredient list looked good.

If you could collaborate with anyone past or present, who will it be?

If I could collaborate with anyone in the future, I’d probably want to act in a Chinese series with my favourite Chinese actors. I’m not too picky, Yang Min, Dilireba, Eleanor Lee, or Wang Yi Bo would do haha.

What is a funny attempt a guy has tried to know you?

This is a little of a pet peeve albeit pretty amusing. Amidst the endemic, we’re all masked up on the streets. I’m usually on the streets in a baggy t-shirt and jeans, shady cap and mask. Guys would still come up to me saying I’m cute, asking for my number. In my head, I really wonder what they saw. Was it my shoes or my elbow because I’m pretty darn sure they could not see anything else?

Confidence. Lots of it. But of course, without the arrogance.
