Hola everyone! Thank you for having me. It is an honor to be part of an interview for SimplySxy. I’m Nashly Libradilla, and I am 21 years old living in the South of the Philippines. I am a fashion beauty, lifestyle, and travel influencer. I also make videos of anything random about my life. I would like to see myself someday as a successful business owner and content creator.
My passion revolves around modeling, dancing, leadership, and speaking, and thus the reason why I see myself in the Marketing field. I want to pursue my dreams within Marketing because I’ve always told myself that I owe it to myself to try and to make my future self happy.
Was being a model something you’ve always wanted and how did you get started into modeling?
Yes, I’ve always dreamed of being a model but it wasn’t the way you would expect it. Back then I used to be so big who would always be bullied. I started modeling when I was in college. Those were the days where I started gaining confidence in myself and started believing that I can do it.
Which is a memorable photo shoot or modeling experience you have had before?
The memorable photoshoot that I’ve been was the time with the brand “The bar Pink”. It was an unexpected shoot from a different class in college. It was a nice experience and a and it made me realize that I can do better, considering I was only wearing a two-piece at that time.
Which 3 things do you enjoy doing most in the city you live in?
The first thing that I enjoy the most in our city is that there are a lot of beautiful overlooking restaurants that makes for nice dining: perfect for when you need to log off off the internet and of course, enjoy food.
Second, I love the museum located in the heart of our City. It’s called Pinto Art Museum. It’s a very Instagram-worthy place and guarantees satisfaction, especially to all Art lovers.
Last but not the least, are the cool resorts we have. Not only are they affordable but assure you the worth of your money and stay.
How do you decide what content to create and publish to your followers daily?
My content will always vary to what or how I am feeling. Sometimes I would follow the content calendar I created where I set the day for posting in a month, it can be the content, captions, the exact date, and the time. But, most of the time, depends on the brands that I am working with.
If you could be a cartoon character, who would you be?
If I were a cartoon character, I would be Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I love the water and I love to swim. Prolly, it would be amazing to be able to live there all the time! This was my favorite cartoon growing up.
Would you rather have super sensitive taste or super-sensitive hearing?
I would rather have a super-sensitive taste. I love food, I mean, who doesn’t. And now that I am trying to get back again to my body from three yrs ago, it would help me enjoy food when I’m eating less.
What is a funny or weird attempt a guy has tried to get to know you?
There are too many to count hahaha! But there was this one guy who DMed me on Twitter using a dummy account and I found out that he was friends with my ex-boyfriend. Crazy.
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions, Nashly. One question before we end, how do you define ” sexy”?
It’s my pleasure, thank you too. I would say the best words that can describe “sexy” are confidence, self-love, and completely accepting yourself despite your flaws.
Hello readers, I am Seeya, a 90s baby, born in Mumbai India and settled in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. A wife, a mom and a full time influencer and a YouTuber with the niche plus size fashion, beauty and lifestyle. I am a body positive advocate who believes that being PLUS SIZE doesn’t mean being UNHEALTHY. Last year I was a part of an International beauty pageant MISS PLUS WORLD MALAYSIA as a judge and mentor to some amazingly talented PLUS SIZE ladies and it was such a delight.
What do you love about being a content creator and how long have you been one?
I love every bit of my job, I love how I can inspire more plus size ladies to embrace themselves and fashion. I also love how everyday teaches me something new. And creating content and sharing my experience with the world is totally amazing and I’ve been doing this for three years now and plan to continue and diverse my niche to travel soon.
How do you decide what content to create?
As I mentioned, my niche is fashion. I try creating content for Plus Size ladies which normally said, is just for the normal body type. So I just keep this in mind and CREATE MY CONTENT.
What is a typical day like for you?
My days start with prepping my five year old for his online classes, lots of household chores and creating content. There are no off days for a content creator.
Which 3 fun things do you enjoy doing most in the city you live in?
I live in Kuala Lumpur and I love exploring different restaurants around, doing a lot of photoshoots and shopping.
If you could change or improve one thing about the world, what will it be?
I would say peoples’ mindset, so that there won’t be any negativity in the world.
Would you rather invent a new gadget or discover a new species?
Obviously a new species, it would be so much fun, new gadgets keep coming up in the market everyday and it’s no fun.
What do you not get about guys?
I feels guys are an extremely complicated species, and very lazy and I would love to know why, but first I would like to start that from my hubby.
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Seeya. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?
Sexy is a state of mind and not a body type. Sexy is a confidence that defies a person. Sexy is how you feel and I believe in a world full of sexy people, only this is needed is to change the stereotype mindset of people.
Hi there! I’m Ida from Singapore and I’m currently juggling a full time job and doing content creating on the side. I’m hoping I get to do this full time though! I absolutely love creating content!
What inspires your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?
Literally anyone or anything can inspire my fashion choices – be it people on IG, on the streets or characters from a show. There was one period of time I was sooo inspired by Jung Man-wol from Hotel Del Luna, I was inspired to dress like her for about a week!
For shopping, I shop anywhere from fast fashion brands like H&M, Zara, Uniqlo and also cheaper alternatives from Shopee, SHEin or ezbuy.
Which 3 things do you love doing most in the city you live in?
I love hanging out with the best company with great food and then chilling at the bar or cafe afterwards for more catching up. Sometimes I walk at the park too or go hiking with my friends. That’s currently the thing I like most doing.
Which is the best compliment you have received?
I don’t think there was one best compliment per se but I do appreciate it a lot when I do get compliments on the content I created – it makes me really really happy. Someone once told me I’m like a “chameleon” that I could transform into anyone or anything; I didn’t see what he meant at that time but I’m glad it left an impression! Inspiring people has always been the thing I enjoy doing the most.
How do you like to spend your weekend nights?
The perfect night would be curled up in bed with my cat, watching my favourite shows and a cup of tea with fuzzy socks to keep me warm while I blast the fan LOL. That’s literally the best night ever – Covid or pre-Covid hahaha.
Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?
I’ve always wanted to learn how to draw or paint – I’ve always loved the arts and pride myself as a creative person so that’s something I’d love to learn and do.
Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?
It’s funny – because I usually can’t remember! I’m sure I’ve done many embarrassing things before but I usually just laugh it off and forget about it.
What do you not get about guys?
Ughh the act of ghosting and then texts or dms you back like it never happened or continuously dms you even if it’s obvious you’re not interested. Talk about tenacity lol.
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Ida. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?
Sexy to me is that “quiet confidence” it’s like you know you’re the shit without telling everyone you’re the shit. Doesn’t matter what you wear or don’t wear either – it’s always about that inner confidence that you exuberate. That to me, is sexy.
Hi! I am Danieli Tio, an inspiring content creator from the Philippines. I love fashion, make up and food.
What inspires your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?
My fashion style really depends on my mood and comfortability, and love shopping on thrift stores!
Do you have a lifestyle or fashion hack that you canʼt live without?
For a lifestyle hack, petroleum jelly is my bestfriend. So many uses and for a fashion hack, or more like a closet must have is a plain shirt. You can never go wrong with a plain black/white shirt.
Which 3 make up accessories do you need most in your collection?
My make up holy grails are lipstick, eyebrow pen and mascara.
On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?
8/10 but definitely would love to explore and experiment more on the food world.
If you can have a super power, what will it be?
If I can have a super power, I would love to have the ability to make heartless, cruel people be kind and show sympathy to others and animals.
What kind of music are you into and do you have any favorite artists?
Mostly pop songs. I love listening to Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, One Direction, LANY, The Script and some 90’s boybands.
What do you not get about guys?
I don’t get it how can they be so cruel and heartless and I wonder what’s going on in their minds.
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Danieli. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?
I really enjoy being an escort for all occasions. A classy business dinner, travel companion or FMTY: there are so many possibilities to meet each other. Perhaps I can fulfil an unspoken fantasy or make a long-held dream come true.
I like that the gentleman doesn’t have to pretend with me. In “real life” there is so much pressure on the shoulders of many men. They have to conform to a certain image or meet high standards. With me, they can let themselves go.
As an escort I can also live my passion: I love to travel and appreciate the great restaurants and hotels I get to visit. But I am even more fascinated by the unforgettable moments with special gentlemen who plan extraordinary dates.
I enjoy the anticipation and the tingling before every date and hope that I will find that I leave gentlemen with a positive gut feeling after the date.
My Initial Impression of Sex Work & Escorting
I have been fascinated by this world for a long time. Every tv show and every book I found about it I soaked up like a sponge. I’m a very curious person and have always asked myself: “What if I were to live this life?”
Accordingly, I had a rather soft-washed and romantic idea of it. Often you only got a glimpse of the extremes.
What appealed to me was the “empowerment” that the women had. They had completely different opportunities, especially as students. And I notice that now, too: While my fellow students have to turn over every euro twice, I spend my time in luxury hotels and don’t have to worry about my bank balance.
What Made Me Decide To Go Into Escorting
I thought about taking the plunge for years and then decided not to. But then when I started my dream studies, I had to leave the job I loved. It was the perfect chance to start escorting. Because by studying, I could suddenly be much more flexible with my time and was no longer bound to my working hours.
It sounds cheesy, but it’s exactly how I imagined it – and more. I experience exciting things, get to know exciting people and always enjoy the tingling sensation of a first date again. It’s special, it’s wicked and the most important thing: it makes me happy.
Common Misconceptions About Sex Work
I am bothered by the assumption that sex work is not real work. Yet as an escort, I am a marketing and social media specialist, stylist and make-up artist, web designer, planner for travel escorts and photo shoots, content creator and SEO agency all rolled into one! And of course I also pay my taxes – just like everyone else.
Is It Tough To Be A Student & Escort At The Same Time?
I have the comparison with my previous professional life, which would not have been compatible with escorting. As a student, I find it easier to schedule dates. But I am not infinitely flexible. A longer travel escort, for example, is only possible during my lecture-free time. I need a bit of advance notice.
But apart from that, the two worlds can be combined perfectly. Sometimes I go straight from the hotel to the lecture. No one has to know that I wear my Agent Provocateur lingerie under my outfit. And I always have my index cards in my handbag. That way I can study a bit on the way to the date.
It is sometimes a challenge to be an escort and a student. But I wouldn’t have it any other way! I enjoy every moment of my life and these two worlds are a big part of me.
Tips For Students Who Wish To Escort
If you are attracted to this world, give it a try! But take the time to find out the right timing. Research books and blogs and try to imagine yourself having the experience.
Maybe you’ll find a colleague you like and who inspires you. You could write her a friendly email and ask her if she would like to become your mentor.
It is a lot of work, especially as an independent escort. Find out what you really need at the beginning (good photos and an appealing Advertising presence, for example Twitter or your own website – depending on what appeals to you more) and what can wait a little longer. Expensive underwear and shoes are not the biggest priority. The most important thing is: Be yourself and have fun, then success will come on its own!
Maya Belfortis an independent escort in Germany and worldwide. A charming companion, kinky playmate and sensitive lover, she loves to explore the most beautiful sides of Germany with a gentleman. GFE and travel companionship on exciting weekend trips are her favourite disciplines. Besides the sensual escort service, she is studying in a big German city and gathers new experiences on her numerous trips.
Hi SimplySxy! Thank you for featuring me. I am from Sri Lanka currently living in Singapore. I would say that I have an outgoing, conservative personality. I worked in brand marketing communications previously and now I am a freelance artwork designer, product photographer, calligrapher, content creator and a blogger with an outgoing personality.
What is your fashion style like and where do you draw inspiration from?
I could say that my style is constantly evolving. However I feel like I am always drawn to boho aesthetic shades and styles. I do love trying out new fashion styles. My inspiration mostly comes from Pinterest.
Do you follow a regular beauty regime?
It usually starts with lighting a scented candle in the morning, a peaceful relaxed mind before anything else. I have been dealing with acne for the longest time so it has always been important for me to be consistent with three steps of cleansing, moisturizing and especially sun protection regardless of whether I’m indoors or outdoors.
Which are your favorite types of food?
I am a big fan of rice, so Sri Lankan rice and curry is a favourite of mine. I also love Mexican and Indian food. Lastly but surely, donuts and croissants!
What are 3 sights you recommend to tourists to take in when visiting your country?
If anyone ever visits Sri Lanka, there are many beautiful places to see. If I had to pick 3, definitely go to Ella, Arugam Bay and Mirissa.
On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adrenaline junkie are you?
I’d say a 5 but if anyone hypes me up, I’m down for it haha!
Would you rather have the power to control objects or animals?
I wouldn’t say power to “control”, but it would be amazing if I could have the power to communicate with animals because I love animals!
What turns you off on a date?
Disrespect, ego and arrogance.
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Elle. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?
Sexy to me is being confident, respectful and humble at the same time.
Once again, thank you for the feature and I hope that whoever reads gets a quick glimpse of who I am.
Hi! Thanks for featuring me. I’m Si Hui from Singapore. You can also call me Sherena. My friends know me as someone who’s energetic, enthusiastic and efficient. I find that life’s all about balance, so I try my best to maintain a good balance with my health, growth, career, family, relationships and putting myself out there. It’s a lot to handle, but so very worth it. I’m currently working in Facebook and posting snippets of my life on Instagram (@lookitsloke).
What is your fashion style like and where do you love to shop from?
Functional, simple and sleek. I really like sleek silhouettes and keeping things classy. Instead of following fashion icons, I think it’s important to wear what’s comfortable and what fits well. When I find something that suits me, I stick to it. It’s also why 70% of my wardrobe is made up of bodycon dresses – it’s so versatile and flattering. I shop from anywhere – online and offline. If I see something that I like and foresee myself wearing, I’d get it.
Do you have any fashion accessories that you cannot live without?
A watch. I’m chill on the accessories front and sometimes I find that the less is more. But I can’t live without a watch because it helps me to keep track of time!
Which 3 things do you enjoy doing most in the city you live in?
I enjoy going to the beach with my friends to catch up over food and drinks, and some casual volleyball. I also like to keep active and go hiking or to the gym. I enjoy café/bar hopping as well.
On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?
I’d say it’s a 6. I like to push boundaries, but I’ll need to find intrinsic value in things I do. Life’s an adventure and there’s always a destination.
If you could time travel, where will you like to travel to?
The future! I’m really curious about how the world will look like 10-15 years later with all the tech development. It’ll be cool to see the world inching closer to smart cities and smart nations.
Would you rather have super sensitive taste or super sensitive hearing?
Taste. I enjoy cooking and baking, and café hopping. Having super sensitive taste might help me to reverse engineer some of the nice foods I’ve had so that I can recreate it at home!
What turns you off on a date?
I get really turned off when people are rude, entitled, arrogant and sloppy. On the other hand, I appreciate people who are genuine, kind, patient, intellectual, clean-cut and humble. In short, I like it when a guy is being a gentleman – because they are, and not because they’re trying to impress anyone.
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Si Hui. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?
“Sexy” is more than skin deep or what you wear. It’s poise, confidence, wit and grace. It’s about being in love with life, loving and believing in yourself, and living up to the standards you set yourself up for!
Hi! My name is Kari Beth and I am a content creator from the United States. I make YouTube videos, I have a podcast, and I edit photography on the side.
What inspires your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?
When I’m looking for fashion inspiration, I find myself scrolling on Pinterest. My style is more on the girly side but add comfort to that! Being more on the petite side does limit where I can shop from. If you’re on the petite side- I definitely recommend local thrift stores and Rue 21. Side note: I love to shop anywhere where there is clearance or a sale!!
Do you have any hobbies or interests?
I love the arts! Drawing, Painting, Video Editing, and Photography Editing are the main forms of art that I love. I’m self-taught on all, which I think makes the spark never go away cause I’m constantly learning new things.
Which is the best compliment you have received?
For me, the best types of compliments to receive are ones about my heart or character traits. Personally, I think the more meaningful compliments have to do within. It shows that they really getting to know you and that they are sincere.
How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?
I do content creating full-time, because of that I split up my workload between Monday-Friday. Content creating allows me to create my own schedule and my own work hours. Being my own boss is pretty cool! Mondays are strictly content-creating days. Wednesdays I upload my YouTube Videos/Podcasts. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday are used for editing. Since my work is all online, I like to end my workday at 4 pm – that way my mind can relax and I can step away from all the technology.
Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?
I’m obsessed with watching Food Network and I think it would be really cool to sculpt and decorate a cake! Cake decorating is a form of art – and I love art – so I think this would be fun!
Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?
Absolutely! It’s a part of growing up. When you get older – fewer things bother you and you can just laugh off the things that used to
What do you not get about guys?
Hmmm, interesting question cause all guys are different. Maybe – why do some guys think they always have to put on this “tough” persona. Emotions aren’t just a “girl thing”. To be honest I think it’s so cute when a guy shows their softer side. After all, the heart is the best way to get to know somebody!
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Kari. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?
Thanks so much for reaching out to do the interview. This has been so much fun! To me sexy means a person who stays true to themselves in everything they do and carries a kind heart with them everywhere they go!
Hey there, thanks for the feature (: To let you guys know a little bit about me, I am currently still an undergraduate in Singapore, who has a passion for films and series of most forms apart from horror. I adore fashion, music, reading and ice skating so perhaps you will be able to catch me on ice!
What inspires your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?
I first started feeling more conscious about what I was wearing and tried to find my personal style when I was about 15-16. Since then, I think my style has evolved over the years thanks to some of the content creators I follow online, and I also get inspiration from my peers who dress really well.
I believe in the mixing high- and low-end pieces as I’m currently still a student, so I have to pick and choose wisely where I want to spend my money when it comes to clothes. As for my go to shops, I would normally pop into Zara or the Editor’s market, if not I would thrift for some pieces in Lucky Plaza, and make a purchase on Shein or ASOS.
Do you have a lifestyle or fashion hack that you can’t live without?
I honestly don’t think I can live without my guasha anymore haha. I got a guasha for the first time earlier this year and I really enjoy using it almost every morning. In the past when I used to take photos, I felt that my face looked really bloated in them and I thought that it was because of weight gain, etc. It turns out that a big reason for the bloating was because of the fluids trapped around my jawline which can be drained using a guasha. Even if I’m just lying to myself about my appearance, using a guasha is a very therapeutic and calming process to do in the mornings, I use it on my shoulders as well to ease out tension which is great!
Which 3 things do you enjoy doing most in the city you live in?
Living in Singapore, I think most of us can agree that eating out is one of the best things to do because there are so many options. I like to explore and discover new F&B establishments in order to find my next favorite café or dine in spot, at the moment it’s still Grain Alley.
Apart from lots of eating, I love to head to the beach or be poolside with some of my friends to just tan and relax. I think a fresh tan has always suited me better as compared to a fairer complexion haha
Lastly, I finally decided to continue ice skating again this summer, after stepping into the rink for the first time in a few years I knew it was something I had to do regularly and work on. Ever since, I’ve been to the rink at least once every week and I’m seriously considering purchasing a pair of ice skates again. I’m glad that I can still remember the basics from my trainings as a kid and I hope to improve slowly on my own through practice.
On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?
Oh this is easy, 10 for sure, I live to eat, not eat to live. I mean who doesn’t love to eat especially when there are so many options to choose from, I struggle to pick just one favorite cuisine. At the moment Thai food is definitely at the top of my list because I am craving the roadside boat noodles I had in Bangkok, and I can’t find something similar anywhere in Singapore.
If you can have a super power, what will it be?
If I could have any superpower, I would love to be able to teleport. As simple and cliché as it sounds, being able to teleport will save me a lot of time that I desperately need. Obviously, that also means that I won’t have to worry about paying for flights and travel would be much easier, but I have no idea how I’m going to explain this superpower of mine to the immigration authorities. Lastly, being able to teleport ensures that I can be with my loved ones at any given moment when they need me, and in these times, I think all of us need it more than ever.
What kind of music are you into and do you have any favorite artists?
Not bound to a single genre as it depends on the day and mood but a few of my favorites will include jazz, pop, R&B, classical, and rock. I would sell my soul to watch Michael Bublé or Beyoncé in person, and if we could bring back people from the dead Queen, Amy Winehouse, and Louis Armstrong are at the top of my list as well, along with many others.
What turns you off on a date?
The first thing that comes to mind is bad table manners or rude behaviour towards service staff. I think this is an extremely crucial indicator of one’s character and it is an immediate red flag for me. Additionally, though it is not exactly a ‘turn off’ I think that if the date ends up being a fairly silent one, I will probably never see the same person again haha. I believe that I do my best to strike up a conversation or at least keep it going, but if there is nothing for me to go off on then I’d probably stop trying too.
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Victoria. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?
I think being comfortable and confident is extremely sexy. The people that I look up to are very comfortable with who they are, and I think its admirable how unapologetic they are for just being themselves. This is something I am working on every day and continue to aspire towards becoming as sexy as my role models.
I was born and raised in Vigasio, a little town in the outskirts of Verona, the city of Romeo And Juliet.
My name is Giorgia Vecchini, and maybe you know me for my activity as a cosplayer, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg of my theater activity which extends also to being a voice talent for dubbing, audio recordings, theater and diction teaching, podcast, radio and everything you can think you could do with the voice.
I’ve also been a singer in the Eurobeat scene, with two songs published in the Eurobeat collections.
I’m a big expert of everything nerdy and pop about the 80s and I’m also a collector of things about anime, but not only, from the 80s and the 90s.
I currently hold the Guiness World Record for the largest Creamy Mami memorabilia collection.
How is your fashion style like and where do you draw your fashion inspiration from?
Well, I think you could define my style as casual, and my inspiration comes mainly from the 80s for which I have an endless love encompassing every aspect of my life, including my attire.
Of course what I draw from the 80s is what can be reinterpreted in the years we are living in, so no large shoulders, no too bright, fluo or glitter colors because I don’t want to look out of time, but there are elements I gladly pick and mix with modern ones. An example might be black leather leggings which I often pair with furry leg warmers and or a short skirt (a short skirt with leg warmers is one of the quintessential 80s looks).
Another thing I really love is one shoulder tops.
And then I like to throw my passion for anime, manga and pop culture (in a word, my nerd self) into the mix, wearing nerd themed T-shirts. I usually try to avoid the “loud” print of the character and I rather go for hidden references, writings, outlines, silhouettes, anything that brings the reference to the mind, instead of the “in your face” image.
I think it’s more chic and I also like to tease the memory of those looking, because it’s not so immediately evident, but when they get there the effect is way better.
And of course I try to keep up with the current trends. There are brands that I particularly love, one being for sure Denny Rose, which I’ve been following for quite a long time now and which manages to be both young and elegant while meeting my specific taste.
How long have you been modeling and what genres do you specialize in?
Well, I’ve been a cosplayer first, and that started in ‘97, so it has been more than 20 years now. Now although I’m slowly phasing out of the “playing” part, I’m still in the organization circle as artistic director, organizer and presenter for events.
I’m still modeling only from time to time, because when I used to do that, the photo shootings were in some ways always related to cosplaying or wearing a particular attire, like a female Santa Claus, a Japanese kimono or even something I am not usually drawn to like the goth look or the fancy elegant dress.
Nowadays I happen to have some modeling photo sessions, but they are more focused on trendy looks with the occasional shooting to advertise some nerdy T-shirts line.
Which is a memorable acting experience you have had so far?
If we are leaving out the performance with which I won the World Cosplay Summit, I had a pretty memorable experience filming “Gamers”, a sit-com for Gamestop which aired in their retail points throughout Italy for a few years.
I was this character that crashed the scene always to a comical effect.
Another experience I remember fondly is “Base Luna” (“Moon Base”), a late night show for the Italian national TV RAI, for which I interpreted the waitress of the space restaurant that was the main setting of the show.
It was a very versatile character that allowed me to wear a lot of different costumes in a wide array of situations ranging from a parody of the TV miniseries Romanzo Criminale to the bored, underpaid waitress, so it was really interesting to be there.
With so many interests and projects you have, how is a typical day like for yourself?
This is a very difficult question, because I really don’t have a typical day or a routine.
There are some periods of the year that go some ways and others are completely different.
During the lockdown, for example, I found myself doing something I had never thought I could, like being a teacher which of course led to a very different lifestyle from when I’m getting ready for an event or when I’m writing texts for a theater play or for one of the magazines I write for.
A period like this, for example is heavily focused on loads and loads of e-mails sent to various organizations to get ready for the next season of cosplay events that is going to start in September.
I might not look so, but an event extends far beyond the two or three days of the stage time, and everything has to be set well in advance to be ready at the right time.
The “get on stage” period is quite different, since I might go somewhere for two or three days for an avent, come back for just one day and then set off for another round somewhere else.
This frantic routine can go on for months.
Do you miss cosplaying now that you don’t do it anymore?
No, not really.
First of all, I’m still in the loop as a presenter/organizer/expert, and secondly, the current state of the cosplay scene doesn’t reflect who I am and my approach to cosplay, so I don’t feel represented by the current protagonists of the scene.
The only regret I have is that I’m having a hard time separating my two personas, Giorgia Vecchini and Giorgiacosplay.
Despite not using my stage name any more, despite not wearing cosplays at events and gatherings and despite the fact that when I’m there I’m no longer there as a performer, but as a presenter or sometimes as an expert for panels, it is very difficult to get rid of the Giorgiacosplay overlay.
Maybe I’ve been Giorgiacosplay for so long that everybody remember me with that name.
I don’t want to recant the Giorgiacosplay phase, but I feel there’s so much more I can give and that is pushing to come out after living so many years in the shadows.
I hope, with time, to be able to convey this.
If you could time travel, what will you like to witness or experience?
Wow, this is a though one.
If I’m just a spectator, I think I would like to witness the asteroid impact that led to the extinction of the dinosaurs.
It must have been a blast.
What do you not get about the opposite sex?
There may be a lot of things, but on top of my head, I think I don’t get how they could ever find beautiful or attractive a woman who just woke up, with all her hair all over the place and a look that to me resembles Linda Blair in The Exorcist.
That will always be my “other great mystery of the universe” as Doc Brown would say.
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Giorgia. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?
If you are asking what I define sexy in someone else, well it’s an ensemble of qualities, not necessarily all physical, that somehow can get me involved.
Something along the teachings of Prince Akeem in Coming to America, when he said “I want a woman who will arouse my intellect as well as my loins.”
I have to be able to feel the affinity and the mutual discovery and the curiosity for each other, even despite different interests.
And the voice. Nothing beats a well structured, even a bit hoarse.
But sometimes, being sexy is something you don’t even realize and is made of many little unconscious details.
And let’s not forget that all this is personal: things that are sexy for someone can be the opposite for someone else. It’s all very relative.
