    Typically, during a Medical Play session, you have someone who falls into a level of interest/experience. There are beginners, intermediate players and advanced participants.

    The beginners/light players may have an interest in maybe some dressing up, possible exam roleplay and having their temperature taken rectally. They may also have an interest in trying some new items or trying a new type of activity. They are usually inexperienced and are just starting to explore.     Precautions & Tips For Beginners

    The precautions in medical play can vary greatly depending on what type of play you are looking at doing. Some play is not invasive at all and is no more a risk than brushing your teeth. These things include using a stethoscope, thermometer, blood pressure cuff, and things that are non-invasive. Once you start delving into things that break the skin such as: needle play, branding, scalpel cuttings, suturing, among other things; you start increasing your risks. You now have to be concerned about proper skin care before, proper sanitary care during, and proper after care so that you try to minimize any infection and lasting scaring.

    When you get into doing anything that comes in contact with a mucus membrane you run the risk of tearing, ripping, micro damage that can breed bacteria and many other things. These include anything in the mouth, nose, and genitals. Mucus membranes are extremely sensitive but they also heal very quickly.     Let’s start with what medical play is. Medical play is creating an S&M experience including anything having to do with the medical field.     When it comes down to it, when doing any form of medical play, you get to tap into what that control and power is like when you can have that intrinsic trust that humans so naturally have based on decades of conditioning. Medical play also is something that someone experiencing it really has to give up control and really has to trust in whomever is in control and in charge of the play. Most of the people I see are looking to take a break from their everyday; whatever may be going on in their life they are able to get an opportunity to stop, step back, and to escape for a period of time where they literally can choose to not have any control over what is going to happen to them.

    Common Items In Medical Play

    The most common item used in medical play is probably gloves. I stick to Nitrile (non-allergen) but love latex gloves, and my favorite are sterile surgical latex gloves. They are awesome, but expensive.

    Some of the others include: hypodermic needles, syringes, scalpels, sutures, saline, sounds, stethoscopes, masks, gowns, lab coat, blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, speculums, enema kits, cautery pens. These are probably the most common. There are many more items but these are the ones that easily come to mind.

    My Initial Interest In Fetish

    Well honestly, I think it started at an extremely young age. For as long as I can remember, I have always played with my belly button.
