How did you get started into cosplaying?
It must’ve been around 7th grade? I was really into Vocaloid at the time, and my friend told me about an anime convention called Kawaii Kon some random afternoon. I looked it up and fell in love with the idea, so I begged my mom to let me attend and cosplay Hatsune Miku. It was so exhilarating to interact with other fans and meet my favorite talents. Back then I cosplayed casually, but nowadays I take it quite seriously when I cosplay any character.
What inspires your cosplay character to cosplay as?
I’m largely influenced by anime or video games that my friends or fans tell me about, and after I watch something or play something, I easily fall in love with certain characters. If I feel like I can portray them well and bring them to life, I’ll end up either buying or making the cosplay.
How is a typical day like for you?
Hmm, I have had a few professional gigs as a cosplayer, but I’m actually a software engineer by trade. It’s a profession that takes up a lot of my time and energy during the weekdays, so my day is usually spent programming, and then winding down with kdramas or anime at the end of the night. I allocate my entire weekend to content creation though! I spend every weekend self-shooting pictures or video content then editing and planning out posts for the week. I also sew and craft sometimes, depending on whether I have a new cosplay project.
What have you always wanted to do or learn but have yet to find the time for it?
I’ve always wanted to hone my language skills. Specifically, Chinese and Japanese, but it’s really difficult to keep up when you don’t have a conversation partner.
Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?
I thought long and hard about this question but nothing comes to mind! My life is riddled with embarrassing moments. But they’re so embarrassing to me I just block them out of my memory and try not to think of it LOL.
If you could have a superpower, what will it be?
I think having absurdly good luck would be an OP superpower. Can you imagine it? That’s like, going to Chipotle and always getting fresh guac, or never getting your socks wet walking in the rain. I’d feel so reassured and relaxed having luck on my side.
What turns you off on a date?
Hmm, my biggest turn off is being too egocentric. I went on a date once where the other person ordered food for me without even getting my opinion first, just because they frequented the restaurant and “knew all the best dishes”. I’m a person that cares deeply about the happiness and comfort of others, so people who brazenly take charge without first considering another person’s thoughts or feelings do not mesh well with my character.

“Sexy” to me is a mix of charisma, confidence, and compassion. I think everyone exhibits those traits a little differently, but one (fictional) example is Yamada from “My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999”. I’m a little embarrassed to use a character as an example but Yamada is undeniably a sexy character LOL.

Do you have any hobbies or interests?
Traveling is definitely one of my main hobbies! Especially when everything opens up after the pandemic and I started to travel more than before.
Not forgetting to mention that I love art jamming too! This is one of the activity that make me feels satisfied and fulfilled after completing a painting from scratch!
What is your fashion style like?
The fashion style that I go for carries a mix of classy and elegant. While somedays I wants to go comfy yet a simple outfit that I will still look nice with and pair it up with a sneakers.
How do you like to spend your weekends?
On weekends, I love going to the cafés, restaurants or bars with my friends for a catch-up sesh. On weekends that I have no plans, I will usually take sometime out for myself to rest and also catch-up with my editing for social media campaigns.
Which 3 items are most important in your wardrobe?
It definitely has to be my working outfits on the weekdays and dinner outfits on the weekends!
On a scale of 1-10, how much of a party animal are you?
Used to be an 8 close to 9 but I will give myself a 6 ish now?

Go back to the time when my mom was healthy. Ya my mom had passed away when I’m 21 years old on my birthday . So I really appreciate that if I could back to those time that my mom was alive ~ but I know that yes I need to moved on right hehe so ya I’m now moving forward and make my mom proud of me.

All I could recommend is our food food food! I love Malaysian food too much! Hahaha.
What is a typical day like for you?
At the beginning of a day, I’ll take my iced Americano and start my work. Check my emails, look over my plans, checking all the clothing samples, writing draft for content sharing and maybe some shooting and so on. I’m a super workaholic so all the works filled up my day!

Maybe having a good coffee by the seaside? Hahaha I never think about this question before so ya….

How do you describe your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?
I would say my fashion style varies. I love so many different styles such as 2000s, 90s, hippie/boho, cyber y2k it honestly varies in what mood I’m in and how much I want to experiment and get out of my comfort zone. I love shopping in loads of different shops, my favourite is Urban Outfitters but I also love H&M, Hollister, Missguided, SHEIN, Pretty Little Thing, Primark. I just love looking at different clothes no matter how cheap they are, you can always make a great outfit with cheaper clothes (you don’t need to use expensive big brands to have a great outfit).
Do you have any hobbies or interests?
I have a lot of hobbies, I love playing around with makeup and trying new styles and the main one is that I am a dancer, I’ve been doing it for 15 years and it is one of my main hobbies. The styles I do are jazz, tap, ballet and recently started pointe.
On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?
I would say I’m a good 9/10. I love adventuring whether that’s with fashion and trying new things or even if it is the outdoors and finding new places to venture.
If you could have a super power, what will it be?
That is a very good question, I would definitely say teleporting because I really hate traveling especially when it’s for a holiday so I don’t have to sit in traffic.
Can you recommend 3 things every tourist should experience in the city you live in?
The closest city to me would be London and that’s a huge tourist attraction as it is but I would say trying all the different foods my favourite place for that would be China Town. I am from the South so I would definitely say go to beachy places, my favourite being Hastings, so much history and places to go to but you also can’t beat an ice cream on the beach or fish and chips.
What is a typical day like for you?
I start off my day with my skincare as I love it and really helps wake you up and makes you feel refreshed in the morning. I work from home so it is really nice having comfy surroundings. After that, I then work on editing any Youtube videos or going over content I need to post and replying to emails and that’s really it apart from the odd occasion I go out with my boyfriend.
What turns you off on a date?
I feel like this is a really common answer but I would say if the guy is really cocky and full of himself.

My fashion style can switch up a lot depending on my mood! At the moment I’m loving swirl and 70s geometric prints right now, and also animal print will always have a place in my heart! Also my autumn/winter staples right now are cut outs, pastels but also with a bit of a grunge vibe too. I do have many hobbies, I am not a one trick pony! I have worked in Veterinary for 6 years so anything animal related I’m into. I have two horses that I ride every weekend. I love to make little clothing designs and create them with my sewing machine, I’m no expert but I have a lot of fun teaching myself as I go along! Also I have just bought myself a telescope as I’m going to be giving astrophotography a go, very random hobbies but I’m constantly trying out new things.

Definitely 10! I love adventures! Before having my daughter, my partner and I would be all over the country to visit derelict buildings and abandoned sights. I’m a sucker for a good view so we also travel around to find beautiful scenic landscapes! Now that I am a parent to a 9 month old, the adventures are few and far between nowadays however I’m sure in future my little one will definitely be a part of the adventures!

I think I would either love to speak and understand animals, as that would make my job a lot easier! But also teleportation means no long journeys, no planes and definitely no traffic jams!! Also I would be saving a fortune on fuel so it’s just a win win situation in my opinion!

I think the main attraction for Canterbury is the Cathedral. As Canterbury has two large universities there is a good nightlife scene here, with loads of great bars and clubs to visit, including the new rooftop bar The Socialite! For family fun, we are lucky to have quite a few zoos and wildlife parks on Canterbury’s outskirts.
What is a typical day like for you?
As I am a mum now, and currently still on maternity leave, my days are usually filled with mum duties now. If I need to make content for Instagram or TikTok then I will prepare and shoot for that inbetween my daughters naps throughout the day. I am also managing and creating content for AngryDollz TikTok channel so I will regularly have meetings with the brand owner to talk about new ideas and marketing techniques to help grow her small business across different platforms. As a family, we also love to regularly go for walks in my local woods, and visit the wildlife parks close to us.
What turns you off on a date?
I am completely out of the dating minefield luckily and have been for a long time now. However I watch enough dating shows to know that arrogance, being rude to hospitality workers, and being a messy eater would all give me the ick instantly!

You cannot compare “sexiness”. Everyone can be sexy, you just have to love every bit of yourself, appreciate all your flaws because we all have them and they are certainly not a bad thing. Hello everyone and thank you Simply Sxy for featuring me! My name is Daisy, I am born and raised in Orange County, California. I’ve been in Orange County my whole life – completed my grade school education in Orange County as well as my bachelor’s and in just a few months also my master’s degree.
I started my modeling venture in high school with pageants, then moved onward to fashion shows doing runway to support local Vietnamese designers and then made my way into the Import Modeling scene.
What inspires your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?
My mood and my tasks play a huge role in my fashion choices. For example, if I’m going to school (where the AC is set at like 57 degrees) you’ll find me in a hoodie and some leggings. If it’s a girl’s night out, you’ll see me dressed for the occasion. If it’s just dinner, maybe some jeans and a crop top or a dress. Now if we’re going clubbing, you’ll see me in shorts and sneakers. As much as I love to wear heels, I’m a pretty tall girl (5’7) and unfortunately, I have planar fasciitis from my years playing volleyball and basketball so if I do wear heels, its for a very short period of time.
My favorite place to shop is the clearance section at any mall or online store (haha).
What hobbies or interests are you into?
I love basketball and volleyball, but I admit that I can get too emotionally invested with these sports. I’ve severely limited my play-time in the past few years to make room for my studies, but whenever I have the opportunity to play, you can count on me being there. Other than sports, I recently picked up photography as my new hobby.
I picked up a Sony Alpha 6500 from OfferUp and have a particular interest in photographing vehicles. I am really enjoying the editing process (playing around with light settings in Light Room) and trying to recreate what my eyes see and incorporate my emotions into the photos that I take.
Lastly, I have been working on restoring a 1988 CRX HF. I’m taking my relationship with the CRX one step at a time because we’re here for the long run. It’s really fun piecing together the parts, it’s like a life-sized puzzle!
Do you have a favorite side when taking selfies?
I don’t think I have a favorite side when I take selfies. Whatever looks good on that day haha.
How is a typical day like for yourself?
My days are so inconsistent, but for the most part I work 3-4 days out of the week (remote or on site) school 3-4 days a week. I save my weekends to catch up on work or my studies. If there’s time over the weekend, you can find me at car shows or doing photoshoots. Again, my schedule is so inconsistent, I need at least a 2-week notice prior to attending any event.
As you can see, I love staying busy. I sometimes wonder if I should try to incorporate consistency into my schedule, but honestly, I enjoy the excitement that comes with a dynamic schedule.
On a scale of 1-10, how much of a party animal are you?
Oh man, maybe a 2?
If you could learn anything in this world, what will it be?
Wow, if I could learn anything in this world, I would love to learn EVERYTHING. I love learning (hence my educational record). But for the sake of this interview, I think I would like to learn how to compartmentalize my emotions. I’m a passionate and sensitive individual and sometimes my emotions bleed into other aspects of my life and get in the way of me being able to clearly focus.
What is a funny or weird attempt a guy has tried to know you?
My Instagram DM’s are quite hilarious. The things people say when they’re behind a computer/ cell phone screen is ridiculous. They’ll say things like:
Let’s go on a trip together baby, I’ll pay for everything and treat you like my queen. – Why on earth would I go on a trip with someone I don’t know? LOL

What inspired you to be a model and how long have you been modeling?
What inspired me to be a model is I love being in front of the camera doing poses and being creative. As a model you have to be creative with your poses, not the photographer. I have been modeling since from November 14, 2014. I am an internationally published model. I got published in SOUR Magazine, February 2019, Femme Modern Magazine, April 2019, Xpressions Magazine, October 2019, Make Sense Magazine, April 2022. Social media star. I am on every internet page.
Which is a memorable or unforgettable photoshoot you’ve had before?
Memorable photoshoot that I had was at Cherry Beach holding an umbrella in my hand. Differed from other photo shoots that I had. I like the beach and the water, calms me.
How was the experience like participating in beauty pageants and winning them?
Experience in participating in beauty pageants was great and winning them was amazing. I feel honored winning such a notable title. In the entertainment industry if you don’t have a name, you are nobody. Losing is easy, winning is bravery.
Is acting on camera a lot more challenging than being on a photoshoot?
Acting on camera yes is a lot more challenging than being on a photoshoot because when you are on camera you need to be creative, express yourself in ways that you don’t get to express yourself in other ways. I like how you express yourself with your hands, facial expressions and with your acting skills. Read the script ten times until it is perfect. Definitely a challenge. Acting is not an easy job. It takes dedication, commitment and hard work. You need to give hundred percent in every audition you go to so you can get casted. As for being on a photo shoot, you need to be creative with your poses being in front of the camera. You should know which pose is right for you than the photographer. It is still hard work being in front of the camera more than one hour. You have to put a lot of hard work into it if you want your photos to turn out good/quality, especially when submitting for magazine publications. Quality is key as well as creativity. You need to have creative imagination when it comes to poses and producing quality work. As the saying goes, quality counts more than quantity.
Which are some of your acting highlights so far in your career?
My acting highlights so far in my career is I think the film that got me out there was Two Ways to Heaven (role of Ms. Melissa Mauricio) lead actress (High Profile Businesswoman), January 22, 2017 (Revue Cinema) and Simulation Actress that played at Aga Khan Museum, July 2017, New Things student short film role of a mother, lead actress and many other roles.
You have won several awards before, which is the most memorable to you?
Most memorable award was, Miss Congeniality Armenia award (2020), London, England. (Pageant Queen). They are doing it virtual now due to COVID 19 pandemic. I have a legal background. I went to Seneca College of Applied Arts & Technology took a two year Law Clerk Diploma Program. I went on my own doing court agency work, criminal set dates and small claims litigation. I think it was a pretty good fit. There is definitely a match.
If you could act alongside anyone today in a production, who will it be?
Great question. If I could act alongside anyone today in a production, it will be Hilary Swank. She is a great actress and lots of people like Hilary Swank. She is brave/courageous actress which I admire that a lot in actresses and she is very brave from what I have seen films that she has been in. She seems a versatile actress. Likeable and talented. It would be my honour to act alongside with her. I am sure I will learn a lot from her.
For those who are not familiar with burlesque, can you share a bit of what it is?
A burlesque is a literary, dramatic or musical work intended to cause laughter by caricaturing the manner or spirit of serious works or by ludicrous treatment of their subjects. The word derives from the Italian burlesco, which in turn, is derived from the Italian burla-a joke, ridicule or mockery. Burlesque overlaps in meaning with caricature, parody and travesty and in its theatrical sense, with extravaganza as presented during the Victorian era. A variety show, typically including striptease. Cause to appear absurd by parodying or copying in an exaggerated form.
Is there a lot of training required to undergo before being a burlesque performer?
Not really. Burlesque is not hard. You can do it yourself by watching it on you tube. A lot of it is choreography, sensuality and costuming. Burlesque dancers spend lots of money on wigs and costuming. You would need to have a stable income to be in burlesque. Feather boa is the most important accessory. There is not a lot of burlesque stuff going on in Toronto, Canada. I feel honored being trained by a world renown instructor/legend by the name of Michelle L’amour. She is number one dancer in America. She won the title Miss Exotic World, Reigning Queen of Burlesque, 2005, World’s Best Group, 2010. Thanks to Michelle L’amour people are saying where you learned all these moves. I did a debut here in Toronto, Canada June of 2012, then I was hired to perform at Tryst nightclub, used to be Tryst now it’s Orchid. My dream is to win the Miss Exotic World Reigning Queen of Burlesque. I am going to take after my world renown instructor legend Michelle L’amour. Fantastic performer and a great person. I had ballet when I was a kid in Yerevan, Armenia so it was not hard for me. Learned a lot from her and her instructor Frenchie Kiss. Chicago has the best training program. Anywhere in Chicago, Illinois, New York, Atlanta Georgia, Seattle, Detroit, Michigan lots of burlesque there. I know American Classic Striptease.
How do you juggle everything and what is a typical day like for you?
I try to make a schedule for myself like I will do this today and tomorrow I will focus on my acting self-tapes, etc. I wear many different hats. I also have a voice talent where I recorded You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me sung by Cher from the movie Burlesque when I was in Chicago, Ilinois with the ex-husband. That was a modern burlesque that I saw with Christina Aguilera. With respect to singing. I don’t see a lot of voice stuff going on in Toronto, Canada. Not a lot of art stuff going on in Toronto, Canada. This is not the States when there are lots of opportunities there.
Do you have any exciting projects coming up for the rest of the year?
I am thinking of writing a book about my journey going into modeling, acting, burlesque and a story about my not so normal life then do a movie. Lots of problems happened here in Toronto, Canada ever since the split with the ex-husband, crazy ups and downs. Never knew that there would be this many problems. Have it published. I have accomplished so much and now I am looking for love. There is no Mr. Right/Prince Charming for me here in Toronto, Canada, when I leave here I will find my Mr. Right/Prince Charming.
