Photographer & Suicide Girl Hopeful Anna Banana

Hi I’m Anna, my friends call me Anna Banana or sometimes just Banana. I’m a German living in Canada. I’m a Suicide Girls Hopeful and a Photographer! I love living in Canada except for the long cold winters… but I like travelling to warmer places – so far I’ve been to Namibia, South Africa and Brazil. How did you get started into modeling?

So this feels still funny to me because I wouldn’t consider myself a model as I feel that would take away from professional full time models that make a living with modeling. But I started posing for photos through my photography. I thought it would be fun to shoot sets for Suicide Girls and the easiest way to get to know those beautiful badass women was to try and become a Suicide Girl myself!

Eventually other photographers started contacting me to set up shoots. So far I’m enjoying it very much and it’s a huge creative outlet, although I still believe I’m a better photographer than model 🙂

Which is the toughest or most challenging photoshoot you have been in before?

The toughest shoot so far was an artistic nude shoot at sunrise in a nature park! It had the most beautiful scenery with old ruins and a gorgeous forest and hills backdrop. Also attending were one billion mosquitos that were literally eating me alive!!!

First I tried to just suck it up and kept going but eventually the photographer (who was under attack as well) said it was too much, because the bites would have been impossible to edit out in Photoshop! I guess we both learned from this experience… 🙂

Can you share a story behind one of your tattoos?

Most of my tattoos I chose are because I liked the way they look…it’s like collecting art or precious jewellery! But I like to collect tattoos while traveling as a nice memory of the trip! Once I was travelling with friends in North Carolina and we stopped for a couple of days in Ashville. We had a great time enjoying food and craft breweries. So I got a little tattoo there which says “Zuckerschlecken” – in Germany we have a saying, that life is no sugar licking (it doesn”t really translate well) but those days in Ashville were so much fun and pretty much sugar licking…so I got a little tattoo as a reminder that life every once in a while can be damn sweet!!!

How much of a foodie are you?

I love food!!! I love baking and cooking…that’s actually how I got into photography! I used to write a blog about baking and got my first camera to take better pictures of the food! But I also love going out for food especially while travelling! It’s my way of diving into a country’s culture: finding restaurants where locals eat and getting an authentic taste of their everyday life!

If you could collaborate with anyone past or present, who will it be?

I would love to collaborate with Corwin Prescott. He’s a photographer from Portland and he creates the most beautiful artistic nude photos you could imagine. It’s mostly nude females placed into great nature settings! His photography is what I consider art! Also, he and his wife seem like genuinely nice and relaxed people so it would be fun to meet them!

I find it always very weird that random men like to send nudes to my Instagram messages… why? And what do they expect to happen?

Uhhh! That’s a good question! It can be so many things… a smell can be sexy – if a man smells like soap or fresh laundry… or a voice can be sexy too – I had a huge crush on the German voice of Jean Reno! A certain look or move can be sexy! In general I think confidence is sexy but in certain situations, vulnerability is sexy too…

And I think it’s good to realize everybody defines it slightly differently…

Canadian Model & Entrepreneur Chanelle Lee

My name is Chanelle Lee and I am a Toronto based model and entrepreneur. Born and raised in Toronto I have spent a great deal of time travelling the world. I am a big believer in the idea we only have one life so we should all live it to the fullest. I am an athlete at heart, and used to play competitive volleyball. What is your proudest achievement so far?

I have a few achievements I am very proud of. But my proudest would be being crowned Miss West Indian Canadian. It gave me a lot of confidence, at a time where I really needed.

How will you describe your fashion style?

I would describe my fashion as unique, different and full of colour. I love wearing clothes that are unique and make an impact. I have always been known to dress outside the box.

Do you have any other hobbies or interests?

I am a travel junkie, love learning new languages and cultures. I love sports, volleyball is one of my passions and I also enjoy, snowboarding, soccer, tennis and rollerblading.

Have you been in an embarrassing moment before that is funny now when looking back?

I have been in multiple, where can I even start. But for me embarrassing moments are all a part of life so you just have to laugh. One moment in particular was when I was 13 years old. I had finally hit puberty, so my mother like any good mom taught me how to use a tampon. I had to as I was an active kid and went swimming a lot in the summer.

So one day I was at a summer camp, and we went swimming as a group. I thought I knew how to use a tampon, but to my surprise I did not. As I was swimming with my friends, the worst thing happened. My tampon had fallen out and surfaced to the top of the water. Yes a few people saw. I was mortified, but after growing up a bit I now can laugh at the whole thing 🙂

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do or learn but haven’t had the time?

There are a few things. But right now I am wanting to learn how to DJ. Finding the time is tough but that is what I am doing right now 🙂

If you could drop everything and go on a road trip, where will you head off to?

Hmmm… Most places I really want to go to would require a plane or a boat 🙂 But if I was going to road trip somewhere from Toronto. I would most likely head to Iceland!

Have you ever had a bad date experience to share?

Oh yes ! Nothing terrible though, but still not a great experience. I went on a date with a guy who was big in the fitness modelling field. He decided to take us on a walk by the water, it started off great. But half way through the walk he had us rush back to the car. The reason for that was he was hungry! So he had us go back so he could eat the 3 pieces of chicken he had in a cooler and salad, plus a shake. He did not even offer me a bite first of all, and secondly had me watch till he finished, then continue and finish the walk ( was that a date … was not too sure lol).

Malaysian Fashion Model & Influencer Bella Chee

Hello everyone! I am a 24-year old fashion model/Influencer from the beautiful island Penang, Malaysia. Here’s a little-known fact about me. I would sometimes be regarded as a human calculator as I am, quite simply, an expert in arithmetic.

What inspired you to be a model?

Blessed with my height, I have been told by a lot of people to join modelling and I love dressing up since I was a kid. The ultimate push was receiving strong support and encouragement by my friends to join a local modelling competition after finishing high school. Since then it kick-started my career within the fashion industry.

Do you have a beauty regime you follow to look so beautiful?

I believe the charm of a lady comes along with a healthy beautiful skin. I have a strict bed time routine to make sure my skin is well-hydrated throughout the night. Sleeping masks and paper masks are must haves. Besides as cliché as it sounds, getting a good night sleep is very important to keep the glow and radiance of our complexion.

Which is your most memorable photoshoot experience so far?

Photoshooting in Kyoto during winter time! Strolling down the street of Kyoto and experience the rich culture of the old neighborhood with the production team. It felt like a fun vacation with a personal photographer rather than one that is being done professionally for work/editorial purposes.

Is there any food or drink you don’t take?

Definitely alfalfa sprouts. I am not a picky eater when it comes to greens but that’s the only one thing which would never appear on my plate.

Where do you love to shop from?

I shop from any retail brands or online boutiques as long as they fit my style. However I prefer to buy my pants from shops like Zara and H&M because they would fit me better considering my height.

If you could have a super power, what will it be?

The power of super-compassion and long-lasting inner peace. Imagine how you could look at someone who annoyed you and feel a rush of love instead a lash of anger. Set down forever and say goodbye to sadness, worry, anxiety and other negativity… ZEN~~

What is a lame or funny attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Once there was this guy who passed me a piece of paper with a list of questions out of the blue while I was studying alone in the library. Examples of questions: What’s your favorite day of the week? What’s your favorite time of the day? What’s your top pick of cuisine? And some other random/ unrelated questions to distract me (I still had no idea what it was about) and I answered them.

Later he came back and checked the paper. He then looked at me with a smile and said: “Well, are you free on the X day at X time for X cuisine with me?”

Malaysian Model Marilyn Paren

First of all, thank you! I am Malaysian and grew up in Miri, Sarawak, East Malaysia. The interesting part about me is that I am Kayan mixed Kenyah, the indigenous tribe people from Sarawak.
