Model & Cosplayer Heidi Maetrix

Hi Heidi thank you for taking the time to answer our questions on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

My name’s Heidi Mae, (most commonly known as HeidiMaetrix on Instagram). I’m from a tiny town out in the country, in Missouri. I cosplay, do photography and editing, co-create and produce music video’s, sing, act, and draw little monsters on basically everything! I know, it’s a lot!

What do you love most about cosplay and modelling?

What I love the most about it, is bringing the characters to life. There’s something so incredible about transforming into this other persona. I can be literally anyone And anything I choose.

One of the things that I enjoy the most about it, is the fact that I do almost all of my own photoshoots and edits.

Oh! And the cosplay music videos that I make with my brother and sister! We build all of our sets, and I sing in them then we film it, edit it, and put up on our YouTube Channel. Those are SO much fun! I even hung upside down in our “SuicideSquad” music video!

Which characters have you enjoyed cosplaying most?

So far Harley Quinn is my absolute favorite cosplay that I do. She’s so strange and quirky, confident and definitely crazy! She’s so much fun to play and shoot!

How much effort and time does it take for you to prepare for a character to cosplay?

It took me a year to prepare Harley Quinn. I started when the very first set photos were leaked. And kept adding more accessories and details to her cosplay until it was finally finished. It was like the Winchester Mystery House! Once I got started I just couldn’t stop until it was perfect!

If you could have a super power, what will you choose to have?

That’s such a tough question!

I’d love mind powers though! Telekinesis would be absolutely incredible. But if I could, I’d want wings. I know technically that’s not a power. But they’d just be so bad ass!

Is there an interesting story behind one of your tattoos?

People always ask what the tattoo on my ribcage says. The story behind it is that it’s a stanza from a poem I wrote 8 yrs ago.

It says “I am the phantom walker, I am the siren sea, as pale as the moonlight. Vibrant. Raging. Free.”

What do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

A weird sense of humor! I’m incredibly socially awkward, and super dorky! So I’m always making jokes at the worst times! Haha! So finding someone who makes me laugh, and doesn’t run away when I’m cracking “that’s what he said” jokes is so attractive! That, and a beard and manbun….. I’ll take a heaping helping of that all day, everyday!

Lamest pickup line or attempt a guy has tried on you before?

Ok, this actually JUST happened! Haha! I had someone comment on one of my Instagram photos “You’re really hot and all! But I think you need some bigger Bewbs, so you should try stuffing them with bread” Hahahaha! Bread! I seriously laughed SO hard!!! I don’t even know where to start on that!

It’s a pleasure to feature you Heidi. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”? 

To me, sexy is owning who you are and just being that. No matter what people say or think! Just do you! There’s nothin. Sexier than a man or woman who know who they are, and just don’t give a crap about what anyone says or thinks!
