    Fashion Tips By Mishti Sen

Fashion has always been a way of self expression for me. Ever since I was a child, I always loved to look good and dress up.

Along with looking good, comfort has always been my number one priority. So I’ve been working my way around finding and finding clothes, shoes, and accessories, that not only look good on me, but are also comfortable at the same time.

Fashion is often representative of how you feel and your self-confidence. When you see yourself in the mirror and like what you see, your self-esteem is sure to go up.

I was struggling with body image issues after I gained weight, so for a while I lost interest in what I wore and whether I looked good or not. But slowly I worked on my body, physically and mentally. Since then, fashion has been an integral part of my day to day life. Taking interest in your appearance and appreciation is vital to gain your self confidence back or rather gain some more and be comfortable in your own skin.

    Before
    After

My Fashion Style & Go-To Brands

My style entails of high waist pants or jeans paired with crop tops, or leggings with a T-shirt. I love the sporty look and I think it suits me a lot.

Brands I often shop from are Forever21 and H&M or even Westside. I also shop from sports brands like Adidas, Nike, Reebok and Puma time to time.

    Misinterpretations About Fashion

Many people have this misinterpretation that when someone dresses up or looks flashy, they’re just doing to seek attention. Most of of the time it’s completely false. At least for me, I most often am dressed down. Only if I’m going out to meet some friends for dinner, or just am in a really good mood, I’ll put in some extra efforts into how I’m dressing up that day. I might even try applying some makeup and and put on some earrings.

Especially when someone wears “revealing” clothes, some people have this mindset that they’re not a good person, they’re unethical or they just are an attention seeker. For me, since I’ve had social anxiety and self image issues, being able to wear clothes that show off more skin had always been very stressful for me. So now that I’ve gained the confidence, I am much more comfortable in such clothes. Also, the number one thing that kept me from wearing such clothes was, “What will people think about me?

Slowly over the years, I’ve come to realize that people will talk, regardless of what you do. And people are first to push you down when you’re at your worst. The only thing that matters is how you feel and how you see yourself. Do things and wear clothes that make you happy. That’s all that matters at the end of the day.

Are There Styles Or Trends That Don’t Suit?

Since I have always tried so hard to fit it, and never liked it, my style right now is not following the trends basically. My fashion taste is different from most people.

I’m not very girly so you will very rarely see me in a dress or heels. I’m often rocking shoes, sneakers or slip ons instead of shoewear that girls usually prefer.

I’m not saying they don’t suit me, but it just doesn’t make me feel like myself!

How To Explore Your Fashion Style

If you’ve ever seen someone and thought to yourself, “I wonder how I’d look in it” or “Wow that looks great on them but it’d never look good on me”, you should decide that after you’ve put it on.

Don’t be afraid to try new things and change up your style from time to time. Being able to put your time and money into fashion is a luxury, and you shouldn’t ignore it. We have enough time on our hands to spend it on our appearance.

It also positively affects your other activities in life majorly, at least that’s how I feel. Feeling good throughout the day is always a plus point.

    Final Fashion Tips To Follow!

Always be confident. Never hate your body or how you look. Treat it well. Be mindful of what you put inside it and around it.

And don’t be afraid of what people say! Stay positive, stay conscious.

  • Chill Out With Influencer Maxinne Legaspi

Chill Out With Influencer Maxinne Legaspi

I’m more of a “fun but comfortable” type of gal when it comes to my fashion sense. I normally go for shorts or pants and a simple yet classy top. Believe it or not, I rarely wear skirts! LOL. Haha.

My inspiration for style? Hmm… I actually have no inspiration for it (Does that bore you? LOL!) I just wear whatever makes me feel good basically.

Do you have any favorite past times?

Yes! If I’m not working, I’m usually out and about with the people I love. If I’m not with them you can find me either pigging out in some restaurant (And yes, there are times I go on food trips alone) or at the gym… pretty contradicting right? I have this love hate relationship with my cravings and maintaining my figure, let’s just put it at that! Haha!

What is your beauty regime to look so gorgeous?

Here’s a funny story I wanna share. When I was around 20 years old, it was at that age when I first tried going to dermatologists for facials (not that I have any problems with my skin such as acne etc. I was just a curious woman. Haha!) My dermatologist at the time told me that it’s not advisable for my skin to have facials (like those typical facials wherein they prick parts of your face) since I already have a smooth complexion.

So with that being said, I just stuck with using creams and serums to maintain a glowing and smooth complexion on my face. I use the skin care set that I have every day before going to bed and on top of that, I make sure to at least drink 2-3 litres of water daily.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a risk taker are you?

Hahaha… Hmm… to be frank, I will rate myself a 5. I’m a “seasonal” risk taker I should say? LOL! Why? Because I only take risks when necessary? Like I’m not the ultimate risk taker, I just do it when there’s no other choice. I’m normally a “playing safe” kind of person… Which is not good at all. Someone needs to teach me to be a risk taker, badly. Haha!

Would you rather be able to control fire or control minds?

CONTROL MINDS! Yup, it had to be in all capital letters because that’s how I wanna control people’s minds so badly. LOL!

Are you more of a lingerie or bikini babe?

Definitely a bikini babe, for sure. I have always loved swimming ever since I was a child. Fun fact: for every outing/swimming trip I buy a new bikini. 🙂 I normally go for neutral colors when it comes to my swimsuit, not a fan of neon colors whatsoever. Just keepin’ it sexy and simple all the time 😉

What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

OMG… HAHAHA. Sorry I just had to laugh about this. So, let me give you the exclusive tea about this question:

So, this was way back in 2017 and I was waiting for my ride on the way home right? I saw this woman (who was probably in her mid 30’s during the time) who was crossing the street and it seemed like she was going my direction but I was just too damn tired and just ignored it because I figured I was just assuming. Fast forward, the woman really did came up to me and I was shocked because she KNEW MY FULL NAME and then confirmed if it was indeed me so I was like, “yep that’s me how can I help you?” then this woman goes, “My friend right there (she was pointing at her friend who was at the opposite side of the street) he likes you are you single? Can you guys go out on a date?

Inside my mind I was like, “what the….” I simply said “No, my boyfriend would not approve of that” BUT GET THIS… I did not have a boyfriend during that time. HAHA! I had to decline because 1st, it’s weird that a random woman approaches me and asks for my name and let alone ask on behalf of a friend just for a date and 2nd, I got turned off with the guy immediately because he was not that confident enough to ask me himself and I normally go for a guy who’s confident in himself so yeah.. HAHA.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Maxinne. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy for me is… JUST BE YOURSELF!

I believe that everyone is sexy! Don’t let others people define what is sexy for you. Embrace what your mama gave you! Xoxo.

  • What It’s Like To Be A Nail Artist

What It’s Like To Be A Nail Artist

My personal views towards beauty and fashion:

This circle called ‘fashion and beauty’ always develops, including how we put our clothes and put our makeup on, how we dress ourselves. People’s views about beauty and fashion are always shifting over time. In the past, they have many or certain standards to be declared beautiful or fashionable. As time goes by, people’s perspectives are changing (the beauty and fashion world evolved very fast). Therefore many new ideas are born, so they begin to accept that beauty and fashion are unique in many ways.

I believe that beauty and fashion trends will continue to expand themselves to be more amazing than then and now.

I think a more expansive world has arrived where ‘we are all beautiful‘ in our own style (if we can rock it well).

What Got Me Started As A Nail Artist

I’m obsessed with nails, nail arts and all things nails from senior high, but not the ‘gel’ nail polish , it’s the basic nail polish. I got my first ‘nail gel’ done during the last semester of college (I took faculty of interior design). I think ‘nail gel’ is amazing, they are really durable, very shiny and beautiful, even just the basic one color gel, or just glitter gel (they are already perfect).

After three times of doing the nail gel, I decided to learn how to make it because it’s hard to achieve the design that I want it to be, because I majored in design and I love art from elementary school, so it’s easier for me when I am studying about nail art or nail design. After learning and studying nail gel for four months, (and finished my college) I started working in an interior design office as an interior designer, at the same time I also started the profession as a nail artist (August 2018).

What I Love About Being A Nail Artist

I love doing nails, exploring many nail designs, and how to make nails to become more beautiful in any shape, even the short ones. I don’t want people to think that short nails are ugly, I want people to know that all forms of nails can be beautiful. I love to treat my customers’ nails, I love seeing them happy to have their nails done. I have joy when I’m doing nails, and I also got lots of friends from being a nail artist.

I learned that small things matter in many ways (in life, even when I decorate my customer nails) , and if you care about your nails, I think you are the people who have high consideration for anything, because you care about nails, even though they are small.

I also can meet a lot of new people. I’ve also made nails for Miss Earth Indonesia 2019 and Putri Pariwisata Indonesia 2019.

Is It Difficult To Be A Nail Artist?

It all depends. You have to be diligent, every time you make nails you need to study their nails, each customer’s nails have their own challenge. You need to practice, so you will get better over time , don’t forget that practice makes you perfect .

Take a few nail classes, so you can upgrade your skills. Look for references too.

Keeping In Touch With Latest Fashion Trends

It’s really important to search for new trends in nails.

In magazines (there are so many nail magazines that teach about nails and discuss the latest trends) or in other alternatives like Pinterest, Instagram, the internet. The change of seasons also influences nail trends. If winter comes, they want their nails to have hand painted snowflakes, or a Christmas vibe on their nails. If spring comes they want flowers, or sakura nails. it all depends. But as a nail artist we can give them ideas, choices or options and which design that suits their nails.

    Advice For Aspiring Nail Artists

Don’t be afraid to start new things, just do it 🙂

Do it with heart, it will be reflected in the nails you made. Our work is work that sells a service, so we must have a sincere heart to serve. So we can see the smile of our client and customers.

Do it with joy, and learn from mistakes, keep learning everyday, and learn to always follow the latest trends.

  • California Fashion Babe Jasmine Sham

    California Fashion Babe Jasmine Sham

Hi SimplySxy! Thanks for reaching out and featuring me! Well my name is Jasmine and I’m from the beautiful sunny Los Angeles, California. I’m a super easy going person and just love to have fun! And yes, if y’all are wondering I actually am a shopaholic.

    What inspires your fashion style?

Honestly I just browse the internet and if I like it then I will add to cart LOL. I usually try to stick with neutral colors and basic items because that makes it easier for me to style with multiple outfits.

Which items are a must have in your wardrobe?

Everybody needs a nice pair high waisted jeans, crop tops, and of course a teddy jacket and thigh high boots!

Do you follow a beauty regime to look so fabulous?

Face oils and sunscreen are a must! Gotta keep your skin happy and hydrated while you are still young!

How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?

Honestly my life is nothing extravagant, I am a normal gal working an 8-5. Then I hit the gym and that’s about it. Sorry to bum y’all out. On the weekends though I definitely do more, I enjoy going out with my friends and trying new food spots!

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?

I’ve always wanted to go to Bali, but I definitely don’t have the time to even think about traveling thousands of miles away from home right now! But when I do, that would definitely be the first place I’d go.

Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?

Oh! I embarrass myself 24/7. But most definitely probably recently when I fought my boss about my age… I really thought I was 22 turning 23 when in reality I was definitely turning 24! MY BAD. Talk about hitting a middle life crisis.

What do you totally not get about guys?

Everything. Just kidding but not really, they are a special species, but what can I say, can’t live with them, can’t live without them.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Jasmine. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Being sexy isn’t just the girl who wears the least amount of clothing, not the girl with the tallest heels, or the most makeup but the girl who walks into the room with confidence in herself not needing any validation from anyone. Being sexy is being comfortable in your own skin and knowing you a bad b no matter what.

What turns you off on a date?

  • LA Fashion & Style Chic Abby Rieskamp

LA Fashion & Style Chic Abby Rieskamp

I am 21, about to turn 22 🙂 I am originally from a super small town in Oregon but recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue my career in fashion. I attend the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and absolutely loveeee it there. In my free time I enjoy working out, hitting up the hottest clubs in Hollywood with my gal pals and traveling. I enjoy watching sports, especially football and basketball!

What is your fashion style like?

I would say my fashion style is pretty laid back. I have such a busy schedule and don’t like getting all dressed up on a regular basis (unless I’m going out of course). My go-to fit is an oversized tee or hoodie with biker shorts and my platform tennis shoes!

Have you ever been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when you look back?

Probably about 8 or 9 years ago, we were at some family friends house back in Oregon and we were riding quads and dirt bikes on their property. Everyone was chilling and hanging out. I get on the dirt bike and accidentally press the gas all the way forward because I thought it was the brake…turns out I was very wrong.

I ran into a giant wood stack and then ran into a tree and peed my pants. I was literally so embarrassed because at the time I had a crush on the son of our family friends….literally so awk and embarrassing but now I don’t care about it 🙂

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a party animal are you?

Oh gosh…I am probably a 9, LOL….I love going out and getting bad boujee. I know how to have a funnnnn time!

Is there any food or drink you don’t take?

Peppers and Coffee……any shape or form. Literally the grossest foods on the planet!!!!!

Which is the best compliment you have received?

The best compliment I ever received…..hmmmm probably that I look like Halsey….I don’t see it….like at all but I will definitely take it because Halsey is damn fineeeee.

Do you have any other hobbies and interests?

Like I mentioned up there a little but, I really like sports. In high school I played volleyball, basketball, golf and soccer. Definitely miss that about high school. I also like art; I go to FIDM so I am able to be creative all the time – I love it!!

What do you not get about the opposite sex?

I really don’t get why boys will legit be talking to you and then talk to your sister or best friend or whatever …like do you think we won’t find out??? You’re literally talking to my BFF!!!!!

And also, guys are so dumb when they try to act like they don’t see your text but be all up on IG watching your story and liking other pictures….like we see you lmao!

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Abby. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is being the best version of YOU!! Whether you like wearing makeup or keeping it all natural, showing skin or staying hidden….whatever makes you feel sexy is how I would define that word!! For me, I feel sexiest when I have a beat face, heels on, a cute body con dress or whatever it is!

Everyone is beautiful in their own way. I hear people tell me “Omg you look so good without make up!”, which I appreciate but I like wearing makeup and it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks as long as you feel confident 🙂

  • Entrepreneur & Fashionista Bambie

    Entrepreneur & Fashionista Bambie

Hey! Thanks for having me. To start off, I was born in Iran and moved to California when I was two. Growing up as an only child I was put into many different after school activities such as soccer, art, dance, etc… This really helped me fill the void of not having a sibling to spend my time with. As I got older, this void tended to fill with other things such as photography, piano, and studying.

How will you describe your fashion style?

I would say my fashion style is a mix between 90’s Chanel runway and a minimalistic yet chic look. I usually tend to follow the “less is more” rule when it comes to putting outfits together by picking a focus piece and just building around that.

Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?

I find myself trying to emulate many of the 90’s runway looks such as Chanel, Dior, and Versace but other than that, I love a good “clueless” inspired look along with the “off duty model”.

What is the best compliment you have received?

I love hearing that I’ve inspired someone to consider different perspectives that they probably would not have questioned before meeting me. I think that in a world where information is so valuable and usually capitalised off of, it is important to question and research everything we are informed of.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adrenaline junkie are you?

I would say probably a 5/6 because although I do love traveling and adventures I am limited because of my fear of deep waters, heights, and the dark. I’m still trying though.

If you could learn anything in this world, what will it be?

Probably physics because it’s such an intense field of study with so much information that I usually get overwhelmed the farther I go down the rabbit hole. I have a deep interest in the cosmos so knowing what makes our world go round would be very satisfying.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Almost all my free time is dedicated to educating myself on different subjects I’m interested in, such as religion, history, politics, science, linguistics, art, etc… I can spend months at a time just going in depth learning about the origins of religion, studying how different elements affect our brain, or even breaking down how our economy and banking system works. I can’t help it, I need to be learning something.

What is a lame pickup line or attempt a guy has tried on you?

One time I was at a party and there was this guy sitting on a counter and all he did to get my attention was stick his leg out and point at me, insinuating that he wanted me to walk over to him. The lack of effort LOL. I just walked the other way.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Bambie. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

I think the only way to be sexy is to feel sexy. Having that unapologetic confidence is such a powerful thing, it can really change the way you act, think, and talk; you just become your best self:)

  • Italian Image Consultant Francesca Grieco

    Italian Image Consultant Francesca Grieco

Hi, I am Francesca Grieco, Italian, and am 35 years old. I took the diploma of maturity and then after a few years of aesthetic, in addition to working as a beautician specializing in make up, onicotecnica and nail art and facials-body, I joined for a few years, a hairdressers professional and designers in fashion shows.

My main task is to make up models and advise the stylist the right make up to do, of course working with other professionals, studying the image and what you want to convey. To get an image attractive and harmonious, studying the face and physicality, as makeup, how to bring your hair and what clothes to wear …

How will you describe your fashion style?

My style I call glamor, I like my clothes refined, I like to enhance forms of my body, but I love also all that glitters – sequins, rhinestones, glitter, on clothes and make up in the nail art. I love also the lace, the embroidery and tissues transparent and veiled …

What is the best compliment you have received?

It’s hard to remember, but of all compliments. I have had many … and I thank every day all the people who follow me on Instagram, for the affection that I get from them, both women and men are really happy to share with them what I like and my profession. I try to transmit to the others my experience within the aesthetic … in fact, when I write …. “As you trick well” for me is a great compliment, because even an eye which is inexperienced in the field realizes that behind that make-up, there’s a lot of experience …

Which beauty products should every lady own?

The first thing ever to all women is with regard to the face, is to cleanse well the face and use a cream specific based on the skin type on the face, neck and décolleté … use a good make up corrective. With regards to the body, always use creams that feed on the skin and critical points of the abdomen, buttocks and thighs with products such as cellulite and wraps sludge thermal … of course you should always make a bit of physical activity …

Is there any item in your wardrobe that is a must have?

I love a lot of the fur and obviously use those ecological ones which I like a lot. Am a lover of bags and accessories, which can enhance the most of the heads that I wear … .adore shoes with rhinestones, lace and applications …

If you could change one thing about the world, what will it be?

If I could change something, cambierei many things … there are many things you should not be well … the power on the other and violence towards people and corruption are the things that make me indignano, I’m scared, and I addolorano in this today’s society … because I realize that we are so strong and so fragile, I hope in ogniuno of US prevail always justice and knowing how to evaluate things and the others for what they are and not for what it takes to believe to be.

Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now when you look back?

Embarrassing was the first time that I had to sing … my professor from guitar high school had organized an essay at the year-end and made me sing a song of Celine Dion  – “My Heart Will Go On” … Music is my passion that I brought forward for several years between lessons of singing and playing the piano, is a passion that unfortunately, I could not to realize in it seriously.

What turns you off on a date and have you had a bad date experience?

The negative experiences always teaches something, perhaps even more so than those positive. The important thing is to admit that you are wrong and go ahead in your passion and believe in yourself.

Another thing which is very important, but you remain yourself and understand what are your limits is that you cannot be perfect on all, but once you’ve found defects you should try to improve, both aesthetically that mentally.

Thanks to you for this space, am really happy to have told a bit of me, there are a lot of things yet to say …

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Francesca. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is something you can become, but to be really sexy, you must treat before the aesthetics otherwise, a woman wearing only heads of intimacy, you can not define sexy. I mean that wear heads of intimate and have a physical inadequate, face struccato and hair in disorder is not sexy … in fact it’s quite unpleasant agl’occhi of the viewer … okay the “woman curvy”, but must wear clothes adequate to their physical, every day girls which are curvy publish photos on Instagram, in my opinion is indecent, because if you have fat and cellulite you may not post photos in costume or with undergarments … is vulgar … and especially not be nice to see … because in this way we only show defects …

  • Fashion and Celebrity Stylist Joanna Garcia

Fashion and Celebrity Stylist Joanna Garcia

Hi, I’m Joanna Garcia, 28 year old celebrity fashion stylist from sunny Manila, Philippines. I’ve been styling for more that eight years and I would really say that I love and enjoy what I’ve chosen to do. Aside from fashion, I love yoga, painting and cooking during my spare time!

Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?

I get my fashion inspiration from everywhere. People I meet, my travels, social media, different artists I’ve come to work with, the list goes on and on. I’m always finding ways to be inspired everyday — this is how I keep the creativity flowing.

Are there any items in your wardrobe you can’t live without?

I cannot leave without a white button-down shirt, good fitting pair of jeans and my very comfy and trusty Chanel ballerina flats. I’m a basics kinda gal, as long as it’s chic and it fits very well, I’m good to go.

How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?

I wake up around 8am, do a short meditation, diffuse my energizing essential oils (this was truly life changing for me, haha) then start my day with breakfast while checking my e-mails. Most days I would attend shoots, meetings, events or style campaigns, other days you would often see me in the mall sourcing looks for my celebrity clients.

Is there a food or drink you never take?

I’m not really a picky eater but I don’t like Bitter Melon and I’m not very fond of tomatoes!

What have you always wanted to do or learn but have yet to find the time for it?

I’ve been meaning to go back to London and take short courses in Central Saint Martins in cool hunting and advanced fashion styling but schedules always get in the way, I would love to do probably this year or next, as they say, Education is the best investment you can give yourself. I believe this will also allow me to hone my skills better to become a better stylist.

If you could time travel, where will you go and like to experience or witness?

Wish I’d live in the 70s! The music, the parties, and the fashion.

What turns you off on a date?

A guy that is too arrogant or full of himself.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Joanna. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is being comfortable in your own skin, not being afraid to show who you really are 🙂

Fashion, Lifestyle & Travel Blogger Angie Durkee

Hola and hello! I am a 20-something-year old from the San Francisco Bay Area in California! I am the daughter of my sweet Salvadoran born Mother and my lovely Californian raised Father. I grew up speaking Spanish and English in my household. I am a fashion, lifestyle and travel blogger who relocated to Spain to chase her dreams of living in a foreign Spanish speaking country.

    What inspires you?

People, places, culture, technology, traveling and helping others inspires me. I love interacting with humans and listening to their untold stories. I enjoy visiting places that have a rich history and learning about cultural differences. Seeing how technology evolves and allows humans to interact better is incredible. Traveling to new destinations and helping others gives me joy. I love learning and growing! All of these things are constantly inspiring me!

Was the moving and settling in Madrid harder than you thought even though you had studied there before?

Yes, moving to Madrid has been more challenging this time around because when I studied abroad there three years ago, most of the paperwork was taken care of by my Universities and the host family I lived with. This time around, it has been me doing everything 100% but that is okay because this is what I wanted. I studied abroad in Madrid for five months and loved it so much, I had to find a way back…so to me, it has been worth it because I get to be back in the city I once fell in love with.

If you had to choose 3 things you love more than others in Spain, what will they be?

American banks, American clothing stores, and American restaurants. These three have faster service than Spain’s does. I miss the speed of being attended to in the States. However, at the same time, I love how Spain’s culture is much more relaxed and they are not in a rush to get you in and out of places.

Which is your most memorable travel experience so far?

Gosh, this is hard to answer because I’ve had some really incredible travel experiences so far. But if I were to choose one, I would have to say visiting one of my best friends in Lisbon, Portugal when she was also studying abroad in Europe during the same time I was. I booked a weekend trip from Madrid to Lisbon and stayed in a hostel. She was dating a Portuguese tour guide at the time who was so sweet and drove us around beautiful Lisbon, took us to the Sintra Castle, and then wine & chocolate tasting, all while telling us the history of his country.

We rode tuk tuk’s together (small little vehicles) and enjoyed bar hopping on the crowded streets at night. When I returned to the hostel after such a great day of exploring, I came back to someone sleeping in my assigned bed! This was kind of wild because the rest of the other 8 beds in my room were also taken… which makes me conclude that my life is simply like a novela (a Spanish soap opera)and I just knew something like this would happen to me.

When I told the front desk person, they were super apologetic and didn’t know how some random person snuck into my bed but I told them not to worry because I didn’t want to wake up the sleepy snorlax who snatched my bed. I ended up sleeping on the communal hostel sofa instead and got reimbursed. LOL, good times! But as the Spanish say, “no pasa nada,” aka it’s all good!

Have you ever been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now when you look back?

Too many to count! In fact, I’ve had so many embarrassing moments that I’ve learned how to blow them off and play it cool as if nothing has ever happened ;). The most recent embarrassing moment has been when I said a Spanish phrase wrong and learned the meaning behind it… I said “Estoy caliente” which I thought meant, I’m hot due to the weather but it means “I’m turned on.”

The proper way to say it is “Hace calor” or “tengo calor.” The most embarrassing part was, I said it to my host Mom when we recently met for her birthday dinner and she told me to never say that out loud, especially if there are men around. OOPS.

If you could collaborate or meet with anyone past or present, who will it be?

I would love to collaborate with @Jamienkidd one day! Jamie and her husband are so adorable and create the most amazing fashion, lifestyle and travel content on instagram! They are both so sweet and humble too! Wow, she’s my mega inspiration.

Which is the funniest or worst attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Oh… so I met a guy at a hostel on a random solo weekend getaway I did to Alicante, Spain. I met him with a few others in a group setting and we all agreed to do another group getaway a month later in Cadiz, Spain. I was having a great time and we all booked a shared room in a hostel together. Halfway into our trip, I realized he was starting to get closer and closer to me, until finally he tried to kiss me goodnight before I hopped into bed and I was like “Woah! What are you doing!?”

I think I scared him more with that response than he scared me with his attempted kiss. I’m not sure but the weirdest part was we had one more day to spend together so I kept my distance but also tried to act like nothing happened the entire day. Meanwhile, I was thinking we were just friends the entire time. So that escalated pretty quickly!

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Angie. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is recognizing your own personal worth and pursuing whatever it is you want in life with confidence, poise and your head up. Also, making sure to only look back to reflect and continue to always move forward. To me, that is sexy!
