    Entrepreneur Jilyn Mae Domingo

I’m an entrepreneur and micro content creator born and raised in the Philippines. I am currently in the Sales & Marketing field and is also running my own swimsuit line – Attitude SWIMS. My love for travel, photography, and bikinis are what really jumpstarted my content creator journey. It gives me a sense of fulfillment every time I see new places, experience new activities, and learn new skills, when traveling. Cause to me, that is the essence of life.

How do you describe your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?

I could say that my fashion style is unapologetic. I do love to wear whatever that makes me feel empowered and on top of my game. I love shopping from both local and international swimsuit and fashion boutiques on Instagram. I can’t really pinpoint specific shops because I love exploring different brands.

Do you have any hobbies or interests?

My business is keeping me busy, and I am aiming to focus more on releasing new stuff. But personally, I recently learned how to surf, and I’m really determined to be good at it. I am also aiming to learn how to free dive and is another goal I want to achieve this 2023.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?

11/10! I love exploring. I love discovering hidden gems in every island I visit. The world is a huge playground that needs to be experienced.

If you could have a superpower, what will it be?

If I could have a superpower, I would want to be able to fly! So, I don’t have to pay for plane tickets anymore haha. This would give me the ability to just fly and relax anytime I want on a secluded island somewhere. That would be a dream!

Can you recommend 3 things every tourist should experience in the city you live in?

    1. Is to book your plane ticket and fly to one of the provinces. Honestly, if you are going to visit the Philippines you should fly straight to one of the islands instead of the Metro.
    2. Always try local foods in whichever island you are visiting. They would always have something different, and exciting to offer.
    3. I would always recommend supporting the small local business owners than big brands. They are always very welcoming and will give you the best customer service. Don’t be scared to talk to them and ask for recommendations because they would always try to help you find the best things you can experience on their island.

What is a typical day like for you?

My job is to mainly work for a creative agency’s UK office, so my working hour starts later in the day for me. (5pm PHT to 2am PHT) Plus, I work from home, so I have time to devote my morning and afternoon for self-care and to my business. This setup really works perfectly for me.

Typically, my morning starts with me sipping coffee as soon as I wake up. My day would not be complete without coffee. I’d rest for a while and then start working out for 30 to 45 minutes. I will then take a shower and lunch by noon. After that, I will then prepare and pack orders from The Attitude Clothing, to ship. After all my self-care and business stuff done, I maximize the rest of the day before my day job starts, in content creation.

This is when I answer emails from brands inviting me for a collaboration or partnership. I also, take this time to engage with my followers and plan content for the week ahead. I usually create content during the weekends because I love planning everything before I shoot. I sometimes book an Airbnb, eat on a restaurant, or even plan a whole vacation trip to shoot content. This is mostly for swimsuit and fashion brands where it would require for me to be more creative.

So, you can say most of my days are jampacked with activities lol. But I love it that way. It gives me more self-fulfillment more than anything.

What turns you off on a date?

I guess it’s if a guy is too quiet and only knows how to answer in 1 or 2 words. I know some people are introverts, but conversation is very important to me. It’s how I would know if our values and principles are aligned. I love a good conversation and I love hearing someone’s opinion about something.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Jil. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

I love this question! Because that is what my swimsuit line stands for. “Sexy” for me is not based on what you look like but more of an ATTITUDE. The attitude to be unbothered in whatever room you walk in. The attitude to answer to no one. And the attitude to empower another. That is what “Sexy” is for me

  • Performing Artist Shanice Stanislaus

    Performing Artist Shanice Stanislaus

    Hi, I’m Shanice!

I’m a Singaporean based multi-disciplinary performing artist with a focus on dance, theatre and clown. I started in the live theatre industry in Singapore but have since gone on to bring my work internationally and to the genre of film. When I am not performing. I like to take on other creative roles such as directing, producing and arts education. I also have my own creative arts company, Creatives Inspirit where I bring arts to communities that experience illness, disabilities and poverty.

Was being a performer something you’ve always wanted to be since you were a child?

Yes! I didn’t realize it then but now when I look back, as a young child, I used to dance along to songs, play make believe with my toys and my friends from the playground. I was always finding a reason to act and dance. I remember family gatherings  where my aunties would always ask my cousins and I what we wanted to be when we grew up. They all would answer ‘I want to be a doctor’ and I would lie and say the same thing because I felt the pressure to say the right thing but in my head I was always saying to myself, ‘I’m going to be an actress!’.

I also vividly remember begging my mother to let me go to dance class or join the drama club. She never let me go to a dance class until I became a teenager and I rebelled against her but I managed to join the drama club in my school when I was 12 and that changed my life! Best decision of my life!

What has been a memorable acting or modeling or performance you have had before that is unforgettable?

In 2016, I had the opportunity to work for a dance creation center called La Caldera in Barcelona. I remember taking a class with a renowned choreographer and director, Alberto Velasco. I was just an intern then for the company, trying to learn as much as I can by taking classes. He had seen me in the class and asked my boss if I could join his show for a large international festival, El Festival Del Grec.

I was extremely honored to be randomly talent spotted and to do the show. I was the only Singaporean in an amazing company of mainly Spanish based dancers and actors. It was a big learning curve for me because it was a fully Spanish show so I had to step up my Spanish language game for the show. Alberto Velasco was such a phenomenal director and the show itself was innovative.

The show was a dance theatre show built on the idea of a competition so as the performers we all were competing every night of the show. This experience was memorable because I won two nights out of three of the festival run and I felt quite on top of the world doing that show!

Which is the best compliment you have received?

A renowned choreographer from LA, Brinn Nicole, she’s one of my teachers, she once looked at me over ZOOM and said to me (along the lines of, not verbatim)

when I look at you and your energy I see this playfulness and when people are around your energy I see that your energy gives people the permission to embrace their playfulness and their inner child.

What inspired you to start your company Creatives Inspirit and can you share more about what you do?

The inspiration behind Creatives Inspirit came from my final year capstone project in my university, ‘The Drunken Butterfly’.  ‘The Drunken Butterfly’ was a clown and dance theatre performance that was created to enable audiences to better understand the struggles of illness and caregiving. Creating that work was inspired by many stories of students on my campus who were dealing with similar experiences. The performance was a hit and it was restaged a second time in Singapore. That experience made me and a few of my collaborators realize we wanted to use art to help communities in need and so we came together and Creatives Inspirit was birthed.

Over the past five years, Creatives Inspirit has created many impactful projects, such as the ‘AnyBody Can Dance’, ‘Play through Movement’, the ‘Why Should I Care’ programme series and many more. These are inclusive programmes for diverse communities including those who experience illness, caregiving or disabilities. In these programs, we use various artistic mediums like dance, theatre, visual arts and clown as tools of respite and empowerment to individuals from all walks of life.

Before I started Creatives Inspirit, I ran a dance program in Cambodia for many years where I brought dance and Zumba to poverty ridden communities and taught a special program to help youths use dance as a way of empowerment for artistic expression and learn the tools they need to potentially build their own artistic career. I’ve always been interested in bringing and sharing the arts with people who have no access to them and I’m glad I get to continue to do that through Creatives Inspirit.

Which are your favorite quotes or mottos you like to use for inspiration?

Everything is always working out for you, best case scenario.

It helps me through the bad days for sure.

If you could learn anything in this world, what will it be?

I would love to learn where my ancestors come from. I literally can’t trace back my lineage very far because of various things in my family like world war two and adoptions. I would really love to know if there were artists like me in my lineage or personalities like mine. I come from a mixed race family and I have always been curious about the people in my ancestral history.

Do you have any exciting projects lined up for 2022?

I am currently in Canada right now getting ready to perform my first solo comedy show. I’m one of the featured acts in an international artists festival in Calgary and being the only Singaporean act in this lineup has been very exciting! This project definitely has been a milestone in my performing career!

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Shanice. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is you not being afraid to clown around and be your true self even if that means your favourite song plays in the mall and you aren’t too shy and dance it out!

  • Malaysian Model & Entrepreneur Vernis

    Malaysian Model & Entrepreneur Vernis

Vernis is a 24-years-old, Malaysian size 16 curvy model and the founder of  VM Global – an international multi business company. She started her journey as a freelance commercial, editorial and runway model in 2018 after winning a subsidiary title in a beauty pageant. Shortly after, she founded her own modeling agency based in the heart of Malaysia.

Her hourglass shape is curvy and accommodated almost any style of clothing brand that she worked with, including renowned brands such as Zalora, Fashionvalet, Xixili, Ombre and many more. She inspires many with her life stories, especially her career journey. She’s the living definition of a small town girl that made it in a big city.

What inspires your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?

My mood really inspires my fashion style. I believe that we should dress the way we feel. Fashion is an expression of one’s self, so I allow my outfits to express the way I feel without speaking. My favorite place to shop is definitely my own online clothing store (@Vernis.official on Instagram).

Dressing expensive isn’t necessarily the price of the article of clothing but rather how you feel wearing them. I disagree with the fact that some people think they have to dress expensive to look expensive, you can’t buy style, it’s either you got it or you don’t!

Which 3 accessories are a must own in your collection?

Pandora Sparkling Elevated Heart Ring, Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires Monogram Canvas Handbag and Swarovski Crystalline Aura Watch.

What is the best compliment you have received?

The best compliment that I’ve received is when my social media followers tell me what a great job I’m doing and how much the things I do impact their lives. That’s the best compliment ever because sometimes I don’t even acknowledge my accomplishments but when someone else sees it and recognizes it, it means I am on the right path of success.

How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?

I usually joke about my life and tell my friends and family how boring it is! You’d think that I’m kidding but on a serious note, it is really boring. My typical day is just work, work, work. If I’m not hooked with my laptop, I’m probably in a studio getting some shoots done.

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?

Travel the world! I want to see beyond the world I live in, learn new languages as I travel, experience other cultures, swim in ice and just go crazy!

If you could change one thing in this world, what will it be?

I’ve always had a heart for children and I preach religiously on the importance of building generational wealth as long as we’re capable and living. One thing that I would definitely change in the world is the schooling system.

The conventional schooling system is built to birth employees instead of teaching us how money works and how we can obtain financial freedom with the right techniques. One of my visions is to build a foundation or school that would provide financial education for children.

What do you not get about guys?

I’ve had my fair share of experience with men, the good and the bad ones. All I can say is that, if you don’t understand men, it means that you haven’t found the right one.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Vernis. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is confidence and acceptance. I think if you accept yourself the way you are and you’re confident about it, that’s the exact definition of sexy!

  • Influencer & Digital Missionary, Micah

    Influencer & Digital Missionary, Micah

Hi, I’m Jane! Others call me Micah. I’m from Taguig but sometimes I stay in Batangas too.

I am an influencer and a digital missionary. Owner of the page “Love, Micah”. I enjoy modeling but I’m also an entrepreneur and a full time mom.

I wanna keep myself busy with the things I love, and I bet you do too!

How is your fashion style like and where do you draw your fashion inspiration from?

Fashion style is “Simply me”. I wear what I want and it radiates what’s inside me. That is my inspiration — My character, emotions and passion, making sure that I get to explore and maximize what looks good on me and perfectly fits me.

Of course, I make sure that I wear what makes me comfortable and also beautiful.

How is a typical day like for yourself?

My typical day is a busy day with my lovely daughter making sure she gets all the love I could give her. I create contents that would inspire and encourage because I don’t wanna let a day slip without being a blessing to those around me.

A typical day for me is getting to fill your day with purpose.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?

I guess I could be seven! I’m willing to take risks, go to places, and meet people I don’t know with the person I love.

I like to explore! Show my creativity in tangible ways and with stunning beauty.

Freedom of expression is my top priority but anything that stops that, frustrates me.

I know there’s more to experience, so yes, seven!

Is there a city or country you’ve always like to travel to for a holiday?

Should I say Siargao? I would really love to visit her! Aside from its stunning beauty, they say it’s a place where you have everything you need.

There we can find untouched places with literally no one around, so we can easily connect with nature.

Would you rather be able to control fire or water?

I would rather control water. It is stronger in giving life and providing while fire takes away things and brings destruction.

If you could time travel, what will you like to witness or experience?

If I could time travel, I would tell my younger self to give her best to those things that I’ve given myself half hearted. Nothing more, nothing less.

What turns you off on a date?

When he only cares and talks about himself. Come on! I need to marry someone I enjoy talking to for the rest of my life!

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Jane. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

It is the way you carry yourself despite the failures and heartbreaks inside you. No matter what baggages from the past you are carrying in your shoulders, being able to stand up with your head high, looking straight at your goal is sexy.

  • Model, Entrepreneur & Influencer Patty Monfort

Model, Entrepreneur & Influencer Patty Monfort

I grew up originally in Metro Manila, now residing in one of the most peaceful beach provinces, here in La Union. I do cook a lot; it became more than a hobby because I’m happy when my family and closest friends’ tummies are full.

I also started an online business when the pandemic started, it was a Sushi Bake and Pickled Mango business. I am a very outgoing person and I love to travel. Before, city life amazes me but now I have come to realize that simple island life is the best.

How will you describe your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?

I was raised in a nice household, where being appreciative is a must. Owning fancy clothes and bags gets me sometimes but shopping in thrift stores is what I love the most. I appreciate people and their small businesses, because for me, I would rather choose to wear something that was made from pure hard work rather than just wearing something for the brand and price it possesses.

If you could learn anything in this world, what will it be?

If I could learn anything in this world, it would probably be able to teach others to share and be kind to themselves and to the people around them. The world that we are living right now is filled with so much hate and envy, If I could just teach people to be kind, then we could have a better place to live in. Not everyone is having a great day, choose to be kind always.

What favorite past times do you have?

Since I am living near-shore, I used to do short surfing when it allowed back then, but oftentimes cooking is really my thing. I am also doing a livestreaming from time to time, to share about my day to my viewers and friends.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?

10! Since cooking is really my thing, I love trying different delicacies every now and then. For me, food is the gateway to the soul. I love food that much.

Would you rather have the ability to fly or to talk to animals?

For me, I would rather choose having the ability to talk to animals. For years, we have seen different violence to animals and it pains me to see them being the tester for the things that us humans use. They do not have the ability to speak and so they cannot fight back when they’re in pain. Animals deserve safe space too, and if I could, I would do something for them.

Which 3 accessories do you always pack in your luggage when you travel?

Basically, I always travel light. The top 3 important things in my bag or luggage would be wallet, phone and of course my garments. Not all areas are selling clothes or slippers so it is very important to pack at least 3 sets for security.

What turns you off on a date?

I do not want to be engaged in someone who does not have respect to the servers, waiters and waitresses. I do not like being with someone who is rude to people who are working in service. Also, the first thing I’m looking for in a date is when their nails and teeth are clean.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our question Patty. One question before we end. How do you define “sexy”?

For me, the word “sexy” is often stereotyped as a sexual thing. No. For me, sexy is when a person knows what he/she is doing, is driven and is very independent and intellectual. Sexy is not just a term to describe a woman’s curve on her body. Sexiness is when you are dedicated and you know your strength and weaknesses. Sexy is about being passionate about yourself, and being able to be of help to others.

  • Entrepreneur Dana Safia

    Entrepreneur Dana Safia

My name is Dana Safia and I am a Singaporean with Javanese roots. Not a lot of people know that I balance my corporate life of being a full time Digital Recruiter whilst owning my own brand, Autentik Palate (House of JAMU by Dana Safia).

It may sound like a handful but the beauty of working on both these projects allows me to grow and is in line with my interests. My full time job challenges me while my own business is born from my love for health and fitness. This keen interest in health and beauty was born from a dark point in my life.

Needless to say, the bounce back has stemmed from the sheer hard work and dedication of being committed to my goals. Something that I have built as a discipline through my exercise regime of training six days a week. This may sound torturous to most, but it is therapy to me.

What inspired you to be an entrepreneur?

It has always been my dream to build a business from the ground up. To truly understand the works and the feeling of wanting to give back to the community in a way that I feel is most suitable and sustainable.

I knew I had it in me because I grew up with women entrepreneurs. My grandma who was a masseur (pre and post-natal) and a traditional medicine practitioner, and my mom who had her own beauty salon and canteen.

Watching both women work their magic whilst growing up has taught me so many things. Although they didn’t necessarily pass down words of wisdom or trait secrets, I picked up most of the information I needed from my learning curves. I watched and observed what they did, both right and wrong to maneuver through my own business.

Can you tell us more about your brand Jamu?

JAMU by Dana Safia is under the company, Autentik Palate. We are advocates of traditional herbal remedies with contemporary practices. We pride ourselves on being a sustainable company that supports the fight against climate change.

I launched JAMU by Dana Safia to educate people on the power of Indonesian herbal remedies. Recipes from my grandmother have been passed down from generations, to whomever is ready to continue from the benefits. The recipes that are available in the market are accessible for both men and women.

Each jamu flavour and type carries their own benefits specific to each biological system and targeted to carry out certain effects.

I have started experimenting on how to improve the recipe to suit the modern world and needs. It’s an ever-changing time and we are making sure we accommodate as many people as possible. The whole idea of recreating JAMU is to market to the mass and educate them.

What 3 fun things do you love to do in the city you live in?

FOOD: Although it might come as a surprise to some people, I do enjoy a good feast.  Whenever possible, I’ll book a restaurant that I have not tried and bask in the various culinary experiences. What more, I live in a city where the food is diverse and the luxury of trying a new cuisine is possible almost any time.

BEACH: Sentosa is one of my favourite spots to chill over the weekend. You can spot me at my favourite beach club either with my friends or on my own reading a book. It is a way for me to detach myself from work and the bustling city. I need time to recover and recuperate from a long week of work and stress. Decompressing is important to anyone.

WALK WALK WALK: I am blessed to be living along the stretch of the Green Corridor. I enjoy long walks exploring the city in a different way.

Which beauty products are a must have in your collection that you regularly use?

ICING: I must ice my face twice a day, once during the day and another at night. Icing your face helps with blood circulation, eliminates puffiness (especially around the eyes) and boosts my skin to a healthier glow.

HOURGLASS MASCARA: I can go out without powder or foundation, but mascara is a must for me! I would feel bare if I don’t put on at least mascara for my eyes.

RETINOL SERUM: I aim to age gracefully but also to fight the tides of time with my biological clock. Retinoids reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing the production of collagen and it is one of my favourite superpower products.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

Teleportation. Either to another place or to the past/future.

Being able to teleport would allow me to see the world and SAVE SO MUCH TIME FROM TRAVELLING. Seeing the past and laughing about how naïve I was and anticipating the future keeps me looking forward!

On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?

I would say about 8. I still have some fears that can hold me back from doing things.

What is a lame or funny attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Just by calling me pet names. That would turn me off.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Dana. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

“Never be apologetic with the way you look or feel”. That’s sexy!

Beauty Coach & Entrepreneur Gina Lim

Thank you for having me, I’m honored. I was born in a safe and beautiful country, Singapore. A beauty coach and business owner, who does business and training in a few countries, including Singapore, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Malaysia.

How will you describe your fashion style and where do you draw inspiration from?

I have a very versatile style, from elegance to chic and casual, I am always open to try and explore different styles which I draw from observing different people. I feel it’s best when we know our body shape, and colors that enhance the overall look, we can then improvise with ease.

What is your beauty regime like and do you use any beauty products?

Certainly, if we want to reduce our ageing process! I have a very disciplined day and night routine, and it has become a great habit. I have been using all ranges of Artistry skincare and makeup for the past nine years, it has been by far giving me great results and savings, so I love it, and I have been sharing it with people around me.

What hobbies or interests do you have?

I love the arts and singing, I love wine, music and traveling, so I do hope this pandemic could end soon, so we can get to visit places again.

Which 3 types of food do you recommend to everyone who visits your city?

Singapore is a food city indeed. If you are adventurous, you can try hawker foods which have lots of varieties, like hokkien mee, BBQ stingrays with their sambal chili and cincalok sauces, and the Bak Kut Teh (pork rib soup).

Surely if you like some fun unique places, you can visit Arab street, or Liang Seah Street for an interesting experience. (Walking distance from my place… so that’s where I visit more.)

If you could time travel, where will you love to go and witness?

I would like to travel 500 years later to see how the world would have become and how human and things I know now have changed.

Would you rather invent a new gadget or discover a new species?

Definitely invent a new gadget, which can solve people’s issues, than a new species which I may not know it’s a new species, when I chance upon it.  😛

What turns you off on a date?

Hmmm, turn off… if you mean physical = hygiene, character = negative and disrespectful. Hand in hand, I feel the most turn on is when a man brings you out on a date, he has got no distraction from the phone, the other girls, and the only attention must be on you, making you feel important, and beautiful. Trust me, we ladies observe quietly. Little details go a long way.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Gina. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is not just physical, it’s intellectual. Because no matter how pretty and sexy we are, one day there will always be someone younger, and sexier than us.

I feel sexy is knowing yourself and your purpose in life, giving all out without regrets, and you feel very proud and happy looking at yourself in the mirror, saying: wow, I am in love with myself too…
