    Hi everyone! I’m YoriMi, a cosplayer from Singapore. Nice to meet you all!

    I mainly cosplay idol series characters such as (Love Live and Idolm@ster). I do occasionally cosplay game series characters from League of Legends. I love dancing and performing on stage as well. Do check out some of my performance videos on my page!!!

    Where did your interest in cosplaying first come from?

    I first learnt about cosplay when I was 15. I had friends that introduced me to anime and I fell in love with it. They cosplayed a little and eventually I joined them. My first event as a cosplayer was at Anime Festival Asia.

    I always thought that cosplay was going to be just a phase of my life. It is a wonder to me that I am actually currently still active as a cosplayer.

    That being said, I had never regretted joining this community because I met so many people that became my closest friends and experienced so many opportunities that I would never have without cosplay.

    Which character have you most enjoyed cosplaying and why?

    The character that I enjoyed cosplaying the most would be Sakurauchi Riko from Love Live Sunshine. I love her image color which is “light pink”. This makes all her costumes really appeal to me! Despite being reserved, mature and modest, there are times when she panics due to pressure and make mistakes. Personally, I can really relate to her which makes me love her even more.

    Do you have any other hobbies or interests?

    I love dancing and performing on stage! I have done many dance covers from Love Live, Idolm@ster, Tsukiuta and Vocaloid. Early this year, I even got the chance to perform overseas with my friends!!!

    Have you been in an embarrassing moment before that is funny now when looking back?

    My friends and I were planning to surprise our friend on her birthday. We had a separate chat to discuss about how we were going to surprise her. However, we were simultaneously engaged in another chat with our friend inside. I accidentally replied to the wrong chat about our surprise plans and let the cat out of the bag. It was so embarrassing!!!

    Is there something you’ve always wanted to do or learn but haven’t had the time?

    I have always wanted to travel overseas alone! Due to school and work, I haven’t really found time to do so. It has always been on my bucket list since then!

    If you could time travel, where will you go?

    I would go back to my primary school life. I miss how cooling the weather was and my life being stress-free. I miss those happy, innocent school days when I had so many friends and life was simpler yet full of fun. I wish I could return to those days and never grow up.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    If I recall correctly, me and friend were hanging out in a Korean dessert café. There was this guy that kept staring and making eye contact with me. I sat there trying to recall whether he was an acquaintance of mine. He stared for a good 30 minutes then came over and initiated a conversation.

    I felt extremely uncomfortable about the entire situation so I gave him a bunch of false information which I made up on the spot. My friend and I were trying so hard to laugh at my horrible lying skills.

    I feel that being “sexy” is simply being the best person you can be. Anyone can be “sexy”. Little things such as investing in yourself, having self-confidence and cherishing your love ones can make you real sexy to everyone.

    HELLO! I am born and raised in Sacramento, CA and I’m just a happy thespian enjoying life with my husband and two Dalmatians, Cosmo and Ruby.

    How did your interest in cosplay start?

    Ahhh well, with growing up involved in theater and film, the desire to perform as a character has always been a part of me down to my core. I think having this passion naturally drove me to dive into cosplay once I learned about it and experienced it with friends a few years ago.

    Which is your most favorite character you have cosplayed before?

    Oh my heck, it’s not exactly a character, but definitely the Pylon Cosplay from StarCraft 2. I wore my pylon cosplay to Blizzcon 2017 and had the absolute best time. There’s something about being an absolutely ridiculous cosplay that fills my heart with a huge amount of joy and satisfaction. Not to mention the blood sweat and tears that went into building err… constructing that Pylon.

    Is there any food or drink you can’t live without? I CANNOT live without?

    HOT WINGS, I challenge anyone to a hot wing challenge any day, I can’t live without that tangy buffalo sauce. I always indulge in some hot wings everywhere I travel on my journey to find the best Hot Wings in America, I’ve been thinking about doing some food vlogs on the different wing places I’ve gotten to visit, but we will see what the future holds, My number one favorite place for wings is actually at Lahaina Pizza Company in Maui, Hawaii. I’ve never had a sauce so perfect.  Other than that, it’s a local place called Granite’s.

    Do you have any other hobbies?

    Just gaming, keeping up on favorite shows and trying to stay active with a busy work schedule. Between my day job and cosplay I try to squeeze in any adventure I can.

    Can you describe a typical day like for yourself?

    Waking up, kissing my dogs and husband goodbye, going to work, coming home to craft or stream on Twitch and play with my dogs, and then pass out watching anime is pretty much my daily activity. Weekends are always crazy but what I live for, pretty much what Loverboy says, “Everybody’s working for the weekend”

    Eventually I’d like to transition to acting full time but it’s definitely a nice slow journey for me, not a race.

    If you could have a super power, what will it be?

    GIVE ME SOME WINGS!!!! Literal wings not more hot wings, although I’ll take some. HAH, really I’d love to fly. I’m not sure if that’s considered a super power but it’s definitely something I’ve always been drawn too.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Oh man….well I’ve been a bartender all over the country the last 6 years of my life and I have heard…a lot….of things. It’s hard to pick just one. I guess the one that vividly sticks out was at a night club on the east coast worked at. It was a guy with the most serious face saying the “dragons” pick up line. If you’ve never heard of this pick up line just go google it. It’s pretty dumb.

    Thank you for taking the time to interview me! I think in general it’s hard to define sexy, but to me it’s just a feeling of attractive confidence. It’s a strong feeling that comes from within and its very self-empowering, like when you look in the mirror and you just FEEL positive vibes about yourself whether your naked or fully covered from head to toe. The term “sexy” is something that I think every individual experiences differently, but it’s definitely there in one way or another.

    Hi! I’m from Washington DC, working in an office from 9-5 like most people around here. I had to add some meaning and spice to my life so I started volunteering at children’s hospitals dressed as supergirl. This led to my now full time hobby of cosplaying, gaming, fitness, and nerding out.

    Cosplaying has also led to other opportunities like social media influencing. I spend my free time at conventions, metal shows, the gym, comic book stores, and children’s hospitals.

    What is your fashion style like?

    I realized the other day that I’m definitely “sporty spice”. I have few “normal” clothes outside of cosplay and trendy gym brand clothes.  If I’m not at my office job or not in cosplay, I’m definitely going to be in Lululemon leggings and some kind of sporty crop top with converse.

    IF I just so happen to go out, I will most definitely have on all black; black jeans, black crop top, black leather jacket, heels. I don’t wear many colors. So… rocker chic/sporty but still girly..?

    Which accessories are a must in your wardrobe?

    Jeffrey Campbell booties, black leather jacket, black crop tops, red lipstick. Who am I … Sandy from the end of Grease?!

    Do you have any favorite food you can’t live without?

    Avocados, rice, cheese, hummus. I’ve been a vegetarian most of my life, so veggies!

    How is a typical day like for you?

    Wake up, walk my dog, feed my dog, drink coffee, do my hair/makeup, go to work, gym for two hours, go home, walk my dog, feed my dog, shower, dinner, call my mom, bed.

    What is your beauty regime to looking so fabulous?

    People make fun of me because it takes me longer to get ready at night than it does to get ready for the day. I use a lot of serums and moisturizers, a lot of hair masks and expensive shampoos/ conditioners. As far as getting ready in the morning, I just curl my hair with a big curling iron and wear minimal makeup. I’m not a big makeup person.

    If you could have a super power, what will it be?

    This is a hard question.. I spend most of my life in traffic.. so maybe teleportation? Or flying? Also mind reading, superhuman strength, and invisibility. That was more than one.. most superheroes have more than one power right? I know.. the super power to have infinite super powers. Then I would add all of those mentioned above 🙂

    What do you not get about guys?

    I get EVERYTHING about guys. I’m pretty sure I was a man in a previous life. They are so simple :p. Honestly though, I know when a guy is going to check out a girl in front of me.. before they check her out, then I watch the check out happen. It’s pretty funny.

    It’s the females that I don’t UNDERSTAND AT ALL. Guys typically tell you what they’re thinking and if something you are doing is bothering them. Females like to hold it in, talk crap about you with their friends, and then explode one day. I usually have everything in common with men and nothing in common with females. I can sense how men are feeling and read them but I can NEVER read females.

    I enjoy cosplay because I like creating different characters and being someone new. I like to become those characters as it makes me happy along with seeing it brighten other peoples days. It is a beautiful experience.

    Which is your most memorable cosplay experience so far?

    My most memorable cosplay experience was when I cosplayed D. Va at Acen at 2016. Everyone was shocked and amazed because the character wasn’t out yet. Everyone wanted a photo and was so impressed  by it and happy. Everywhere I would stop at I would create a sea of crowds taking photos and being shocked, I also got a free keychain of D. Va because I was the only D. Va there. Such an unforgettable experience.

    Can you describe a typical day like for yourself?

    A typical day for me is laying around watching YouTube videos or working and posting photos of past shoots on my social media pages.

    Most of this consists of YouTube. I spend way too many hours watching vlogs and gamer channels.

    Do you have any other hobbies?

    Another hobby of mine is gaming and working on more of my voice acting and acting skills. I went to school for acting so it means a lot to me to perfect my craft. I also love to dance and do choreography and showcase them occasionally, it’s a fun workout!

    What is the sexiest item in your wardrobe?

    It would either be my silver microbikini outfit I wore in a shoot with a crown or my black lingerie outfit I wore for a valentines shoot. Another shoot was a red bikini with shiny thigh highs and those are my top sexiest outfits.

    I’m proud of them!!

    If you could have a super power, what will it be?

    If I could have any super power, it would be Dr. Manhattans from Watchmen. He can do just about anything and it’s AMAZING! Him or Phoenix Powers are pretty incredible.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    This past year in Vegas while I was waiting for my Uber, this guy just walks passed me and started rapping terribly. He didn’t rhyme or anything, it was just god awful and wouldn’t leave unless I gave him a number. I gave him one off the top of my head and then dipped. What a terrible way to pick someone up.

    Adefinition of sexy would be self confidence and loving yourself. I think that creates an ideal of what is sexy.

    With confidence and loving yourself you create your image of what is sexy and beautiful.

    Hmm, I was a mega weeb and always attended anime events, hence I was quite familiar with seeing cosplay but not actually cosplaying. So, when my classmate introduced cosplaying to me at 15, I was all for it and thus began my cosplay journey HAHA.

    Which is your most favorite cosplay experience you have had?

    Probably cosplaying at Hyperplay! Because I get to cosplay my favorite game characters (League of Legends) and able to meet fellow LoL enthusiasts which I was really happy about, since LoL is actually a dying(?) scene in Singapore D:

    Do you have any other hobbies?

    Playing League of Legends XD, I used to draw a lot and play anime songs on piano but now, not really motivated too.

    How much of a foodie are you?

    Not really, partially because I’m concerned about my figure so I tend not to eat a lot of carbs. I do love spicy food though.

    Can you describe a typical day like for yourself?

    Waking up in the early afternoon, either going to school or playing League. As of right now, I’m working part time so I’d go to work, come back at night and league again xD. League takes up half my life.

    If you could be a cartoon character for real, who will you be?

    Wow this took me a long time to ponder.

    Probably Katarina from League of Legends, (not sure if a game character is classified under ‘cartoon character’)
    Reason being, I like her badass vibes and her character design! Especially her scar.

    She has a cool family as well.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Definitely pick-up lines or puns HAHA, I find them really amusing no matter how cheesy they sound.

    I feel that “sexy” comes from within! Doesn’t really matter what’s your body type if you are comfortable in your own skin ~ If you feel or try to show sexy, most of it comes from your expression I guess (apart from dressing sexily).     Hi, thank you so much for having me! My name is Elysia but I go by Lysi. (PrincessLysi on Instagram) I’m from pretty much everywhere. I’ve moved more times across different states than anything else. As for who I am? I’m pretty introverted.  I spend a lot of my time playing Pokemon, writing and drawing. I’m also the biggest animal lover I know, I have 24 animals!

    When and how did your inspiration to cosplay start?

    I’m very new to cosplay but I’m already so in love with it! I have always loved all things fantasy and being able to dress up! Growing up I didn’t get to dress up for Halloween very often, only simple costumes. Being able to finally express myself and meet friends in a whole new community is so amazing.

    Cosplay has given me more confidence in myself and what I can accomplish than I ever had before. Also being able to bring my favorite characters to life with my own special style is my dream!

    Which is your most memorable cosplay experience?

    I would have to say that being able to cosplay different characters in itself is a memorable experience. The set up process, dressing up and watching yourself bring them to life! It’s all a very amazing experience.

    Are there any characters you like to cosplay in future but have not done so?

    There are so many characters I plan on cosplaying in the future. To name a few, I would like to cosplay Krul from Owari No Seraph, 002 from Darling in the Franxx and Star Guardian Soraka from League of Legends.

    Do you have any other hobbies?

    Yes I also really enjoy writing. I have been working on a fantasy book series for the past 8 years. My biggest goal is to finally finish it. I also enjoy digital artwork, which is a new hobby of mine. I plan on opening up my own shop where I can sell stickers and pins!

    Which flavor best describes you?

    Strawberry would be the best flavor to describe me. I love all things pink! My entire house consists of basically the color scheme black and pink. Also, I don’t like most artificial flavors aside from strawberry!

    If you could have a super power, what will it be?

    This is a really difficult question actually. I think about this a lot. There are so many different super powers that it’s really hard to choose just one. It’s probably a tie between being able to change into any animal (Beast Boy), mind control (Jean Grey), or teleportation (Enchantress).

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Personally I don’t have any moments that I stand out to me, it happens too often for any to be memorable. Most pickup lines are funny to me, most of them are cheesy and you hear them repeated a lot. Guys often send unwanted pictures trying to ‘get to know’ you. It happens to every girl too, it’s gotten to the point where I doubt there is one girl who hasn’t experienced this.

    For me sexy is being confident in yourself. Looking in the mirror and loving what you see, being able to enjoy yourself despite what anyone else may think. Sexy is loving your flaws, it’s being in love with yourself. Being sexy goes deeper than just physical attributes, it’s your personality. It’s whatever you want it to be.

    I am from a city called São Vicente, it is in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. I am 20 years old and I am a music student at the Catholic University of Santos. I play the guitar, electric guitar, drums, flute and singing a little.

    When did you get started into cosplaying?

    I met the Japanese culture when I was still in elementary school, to be specific, was in the eighth grade. Since I had entered this new school, I didn’t know anybody. I gradually made wonderful friendships and it was there that through these friendships I met the world of anime and mangá.

    At the end of the same year (2011) I went to my first anime event accompanied by these friends, and there I saw several people dressed up and this caught my attention in a sensational way! I loved the idea, because I always liked fantasies and flashy makeup. Next year I was already going to the events with my cosplays, but it wasn’t me who sewed yet.

    Which is a memorable cosplay experience that you have gone through so far?

    I would faintly say that all of them, because each cosplay I do after a story and a love for the characters, but I would say that what everyone has in common is the teamwork that I performed with my father. The cosplays brought me closer to my family and brought pride when finally accomplished, this is the most satisfying part.

    Do you have any favorite motto or quotes you like to use?

    Yes, sure! Independent of the character, do it with all your heart and don’t care what others will say! As long as you’re having fun that’s what matters <3

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now?

    Yes! I would say that in all my cosplays, I always have a problem with my shoes. Once in the middle of the event I lost the sole of my shoe, and it was raining a lot, I had to be barefoot the whole event but wearing the cosplay. Every cosplay I make I have problems with shoes, or they are too tight, or they are too big or else it ends up breaking some part. Funny sad.

    Which was the last movie you caught and was it any good?

    The Avengers, Infinite War. I loved it.

    If you could time travel, where will you go?

    I would very much like to return to the day I went to the amusement park with my uncles. I was very young and that day was scheduled to have a terror event in the evening. I clearly remember losing myself and running scared because of the monsters, it was very funny. In the end I slept on the whole trip.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Had once been to the movies with some friends, I was always very slow to notice people who felt something for me, I’m very innocent and I usually do not take anything to malice. So on this day a very funny boy was together, but he was very nosy to someone I met a week ago. He tried in the middle of the movie to straighten my hair, tried to kiss me and hug me. I was not understanding very well what was happening so I went to the bathroom and did not come back for being too bothered. My friends asked me why I disappeared, so I explained and they laughed a lot, it was funny.

    I’m half Filipino, half Italian from Sydney, Australia. I like to longboard and edit videos/photos and sew costumes for cosplay in my spare time.

    What is your fashion style like?

    Cute streetwear best describes my style. I love sneakers (for comfort) and I love wearing pink, black and grey. I usually pair my sneakers with dresses or oversized tees and hoodies.

    Do you have a beauty regime you follow strictly?

    Not so much strictly, but I do make sure I cleanse, tone, and moisturize twice a day. On days where I need a little pick-me-up, I use face masks. I believe in prevention is better than a cure, so I make sure to use anti-wrinkle cream around my eyes to prevent early signs of aging.

    Which accessories are a must have in your wardrobe?

    Bucket hats and dangly earrings!

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now?

    Many! I’m clumsy, so I’m always tripping or falling over at the wrong time. A funny moment would have to be when I tripped on flat ground while walking the streets of Hongdae in South Korea. It’s embarrassing because the ground was flat, but it’s funny because I tripped anyway.

    If you had the opportunity to learn anything in this world, what will it be?

    To learn as many languages as I can. Learning a new language can be a pretty difficult and long journey, so if I was given the opportunity to learn as many as I could, given resources and time, I would do it.

    Would you rather go bungee jumping or sky diving?

    Probably sky diving for that feeling of flying.

    What turns you off on a date?

    When someone talks highly about themselves, but negatively about others.

    Confidence – but not arrogance. You can be beautiful in and out, but shy away due to insecurity or negative thinking about yourself, but being sexy is when you are confident about who you are as a person, whether it’s your physical appearance or personality or both, while staying humble and down to earth at the same time.

    Hi! It’s very exciting to be in an interview here, thank you so much! My name is Catalina and I am from Colombia, I’ve been a cosplayer for 9 years now and I’m very happy to be now one of the most popular cosplayers in my country. I am a professional actress and theatre director too, I think the “play” part of cosplay is all I live for!

    What do you love most about cosplaying?

    What I love the most about cosplay is to be able to represent my favorite characters from every anime, comic or movie and make the people believe I’m actually that character during a con or through a photo shoot.

    Do you make your own costumes and how long does it take?

    I’m actually not much of a cosmaker, I usually make all the props (armors, guns, swords shoes, etc) but I don’t really know how to sew hehe. I love crafting though so all that part in my cosplays is made by me. It usually takes a week or two depending on how hard it is to make the prop you are working on.

    What is a typical day like for you?

    A typical day in my life is just me going to the German language academy, going to the gym and streaming videogames on “Twitch” at night. If a con is close you can find myself working until very late hours on props, wigs and details of my cosplays.

    Is there a food or drink you don’t take?

    Actually there is only one drink in the world I hate and it’s the passion fruit juice, don’t get me wrong! Is not that I’m not passionate haha, I just hate that flavor since I was a kid; if we are talking about food, I consider myself a food lover, so serve whatever and I’m sure I will eat it.

    How long would you survive a zombie apocalypse?

    I think I would survive as long as I don’t need to go out of my house lol, so it would be about a week? I’m a coward and I don’t know how to use any kind of weapons.

    Which is the sexiest item in your wardrobe?

    I think it’s a beautiful purple and black under breast corset I have, it’s goth and sexy and it makes my body look really nice!

    What is the lamest or funniest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Omg! There have been a lot of these lame attempts but the one I consider the lamest of all is the guys who use the excuse of being professional photographers (they usually aren’t good at all) to try to get to talk to a cosplayer, I can’t count the times that has happened to me already! It’s so obvious and lame haha.

    Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Catalina. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”? 

    I would define “sexy” as the perfect balance between sensuality and cuteness, to me, there is a very tiny line which separates sexy from vulgar. You definitely don’t need to show skin in every picture for it to be sexy, you just need to learn how to use every inch of your body to state the feeling or sensation you are trying to put in the picture.

    Been modeling for about five years, and just recently started adding cosplay to my work. Mostly I do adult model work and videos.  I’m from a smaller, rural town in Oregon. My passion is animals and art, although I do enjoy playing video and board games quite a bit.

    Where did your inspiration to become a model come from?

    I’ve always kind of liked dressing up and trying different looks, but I was even more influenced when I started watching TV and the internet showed me so much that I could try and learn.

    What is your most unforgettable photoshoot experience?

    I’d have to say my new Mandy Cosplay photoshoot. It was my first outdoor shoot not within my yard and we chose a spot that was next to the river. Wearing my Mandy wig got lots of odd looks. The first thing that happened when we got to our spot was the dog launching himself into the water.

    Do you have any guilty indulgences when it comes to food?

    Well I’m definitely a chocolate and banana fiend. However I’m also into some weird textures, like slimey. Always grosses others out.

    What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done or been up to?

    Ha, well I’ve done plenty of naughty things and almost up for anything. I’ve had public or outdoor sex, threesomes, not wearing panties and sneakily flashing my partner.

    Which is the sexiest item in your wardrobe?

    I’d have to say my micro-bikinis if not, some of my one-piece outfits.

    If you could be a cartoon or fictional character for real, who will you be?

    Well I’d rather be my own character, but if I had to choose; Mandy from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    “You look a lot like my future girlfriend.” I thought this was so funny! I’ve had plenty of lame attempts but I’d say the one time a guy tried drunkenly singing to me while I was with a group of friends.

    Feeling happy and sexual in your own skin, in your own way. It’s about the presence you surround yourself in, not always what you wear or don’t wear. Sexy is a mindset.
