    Hi I’m Angela Kim, a 33 year old Filipina living in South Korea. I am also a mom of two, a 15 months old baby girl and five year old boy. I graduated from my Masters Degree in Nursing here in Korea at Inha University. Currently I am working as an English guide at one of the biggest steelworks in the world, POSCO.

    How is your fashion style like and where do you draw inspiration from?

    Mainly feminine chic style like flowy dresses and skirts. But depending on my mood, I can also do street style like rugged jeans with a nice black blazer. I really like the Korean style so I get inspiration from K-pop and actresses or even sometimes Koreans I see on public transportation/ restaurants basically everywhere. Haha.

    Do you have any favorite food or cuisine?

    Korean food definitely coz it’s very healthy. Can’t decide which specifically coz there’s just too many but spicy kkalbijim (korean braised beef) is a mood uplifter. Haha.

    What is it like living in Korea and what do you love about it?

    TOXIC! Haha life in Korea is very fast paced and there are so many pressures. Work is a priority more than family, Koreans especially at work are very perfectionist, you always need to follow the latest trend or you’ll be considered different/ possibly discriminated.

    However, Korea is amazingly advanced in their technology so everything is very convenient from daily life transactions, public transportation and so on. Health benefits are great as well.

    If you could change one thing about the world, what will it be?

    I guess discrimination/bullying. I just hope that everyone can receive fair and equal treatment. Everybody deserves to be loved and to be given chances.

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?

    I first got pregnant when I was 28 years old. At that time I was riding a subway and since I am a student doing my masters degree  I was wearing a backpack and reading my Korean book preparing for my final exam. Sitting beside me were three Filipino men and suddenly one of them spoke in Tagalog telling the others how ‘malandi’ (flirt, idk the exact translation) I was for being pregnant at such a young age. I was so shocked and just froze at that time. I don’t know if I should say that I am already 28 and that I am a Filipino who understood what he said, but instead I just pretended I didn’t understand. hahaha probably I felt happy than angry for being mistaken very young ^^.

    Would you rather be able to taste colors or see smells?

    This is difficult, but I guess taste colors coz there’s just so many of them. I’m curious how a rainbow would taste.

    What turns you off on a date?

    Poor conversationalist. Hahaha I love having a really good conversation with people. Someone who can give me amazing insights on different topics.

    What inspires your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?

    There’s a lot but mostly vintage clothing or say the retro look, after all, old is the new trend! And of course comfortness and budget too.

    I love to shop from Zara, H&M, Forever 21, Vero Moda, Roadster.

    And also from Westside, FBB, Pantaloons, Max – quite budget friendly.

    Do you have any hobbies or interests?

    A little bit of everything from painting to stitching, from cooking to singing, from dancing to writing, from photography to editing.

    How is a typical day like for yourself?

    Shoot, edit and submit, really enjoying my work and then again a little chilling out with my cousins.

    What have you always wanted to do or learn but have yet to find the time for it?

    I really want to learn playing the guitar ever since my teenage years and couldn’t get time so far. And the language Turk as I love Turkish dramas. Am a big fan of Hande Erçel and Birce Akalay but sadly very few are dubbed in English or Hindi, so yeah!

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?

    I brought my phone in my school mistakenly and got caught at assembly in front of the whole school. The whole day, students were coming to ask me about it, so embarrassing a day it was. Haha, now it seems funny though.

    Would you rather be able to play every musical instrument or master every type of sport?

    I am too lazy to play sports since my childhood, so definitely would rather be able to play every musical instrument.

    What do you not get about guys?

    How are they blessed with the natural straighten silky hair, shaped eyebrows and thick eyelashes? Really jealous! Can’t god see us? LOL!

    For me the definition of “sexy” is the confidence, the self-assurance and the inner beauty.

    I’m 21, born and raised in Alabama! A little bit about me… I honestly hate this question cause I never know what to say LOL. I’m kind of boring, I don’t do much but work, and doing my best to consistently chase my dream of making modeling a career.

    What inspired you to be a model?

    What inspired me to be a model was growing up and being teased in school for being darker than the other kids. I felt so ugly, my self-esteem was low and I had zero confidence. I actually hated taking pictures when I was younger but as I got older, I started to realize that I am beautiful and that I have the power to inspire other little girls who look like the that. You are beautiful no matter what nobody has to say, and I’m striving to show the world that black is beautiful.

    How will you describe your fashion style?

    My fashion style is really anything I feel like wearing at that moment, I wear whatever makes me feel good. Despite being a model and being sent a lot of nice fancy clothing, I prefer sweats and a T-shirt so I guess you can say comfortable LOL.

    Do you have any quotes or mottos you like to use in life?

    I don’t have any specific quotes, anything out of the Bible, having faith in God is what keeps me going.

    Is there something you can’t get enough of?

    At this point in my life, sleep! I’m working so hard to chase my dreams, sleep is definitely something I wish I could get more of.

    If you could change or improve one thing about the world, what will it be?

    If I could change one thing about the world… It would probably be the hourly wages that jobs pay us…the pay is just enough to get by but I feel in my heart, if they could, they could make sure everybody had the ability to live comfortably in life.

    How do you like to spend your free time?

    My free time is usually spent chilling in my house if I’m not hanging out with family or friends.

    What do you not get about guys?

    I don’t understand anything about this new generation of men honestly…. but one thing would be why is it so hard for men to communicate?

    For me, fashion and beauty are hard to put into words as there are no correct answers. But I believe fashion and beauty are how you express yourself and define your own identity. 

    Fashion and beauty in the public’s eye are constantly changing, but it is up to your own personal interpretation that makes it truly “yours”.

    My Fashion Style

    My fashion style I would say, is more minimalistic. I like to mix and match casual pieces with a twist of trendy and bold accessories. I like to stay up to date with the latest styles through social media platforms like Instagram and Pinterest. I also stay up to date with runway looks as well.

    Do You Post Specific Photos On Social Media?

    There’s not a specific type of photo I post on Instagram, however, I do enjoy sharing moments of my life with my friends, outfits, selfies and etc. I would usually take a lot of photos and look through them and see which ones I like the most.

    Getting Inspiration To Start My YouTube Channel

    During March this year, the pandemic hit New York very hard, and we were all forced to go into mandatory quarantine. I wanted to do something meaningful for myself while staying home. I hope to use YouTube as a tool to record my life and share my growth.

    Deciding The Type Of Content To Create

    I usually keep a list on my phone and I will just write down topic ideas when I feel inspired. There is so much time and work that goes into making one video. My first video took me more than two weeks.

    I usually start with writing down a draft and go into filming after. Filming can often times take more than two hours. Editing is the most complicated part as there are lots to consider such as subtitles and effects. So I would say, to perfect a video, it usually can take up to one week.

    Misconceptions About Instagrammers & YouTubers

    People would think Instagrammers and YouTubers and making “easy money”. After entering the YouTube field, I found out how much hard work goes into it, especially when you are in a beginning phase.

    Sharon Tao – I was born in Los Angeles, California. I grew up in Taiwan, and I decided to move to New York City to pursue my dream for fashion and marketing. I always enjoyed watching YouTube videos growing up. I love to sharing my life with people on social media which is why I started my own YouTube channel.     Thank you so much for having me here. I’m Carla Navarro and I live in Antipolo City. Just a fun fact about myself, I spent the first 10 years of my life in Nigeria (Africa). I graduated from UST and I’ve been working as a Cabin Crew for 3 years.

    What is your fashion style like and where do you love to shop from?

    Honestly, I don’t have a specific fashion style – I just wear clothes that make me feel comfortable. I love keeping everything simple – shorts/pants/leggings paired with plain shirts/crop tops and sneakers (dresses for special occasions). I usually shop in bazaars, H&M, Cotton On, Uniqlo, and Forever21.

    Do you have a strict beauty regime to look so fabulous?

    My skin care is pretty normal – facial wash, toner, sunscreen, moisturizer, and brightening serum. Before going to bed, I always make sure that I wash and clean my face thoroughly (especially after putting on heavy make-up). Aside from my skincare routine, I workout 4-5 times a week to keep myself healthy. Having proper sleep is also important!

    Is there something you have always wanted to learn or do but haven’t had the time?

    I always wanted to learn how to play the guitar since I love doing covers. Aside from that, I also want to learn how to speak fluently in different languages like Mandarin and French because I think that it would be a great advantage – especially in my line of work.

    What food or cuisine do you enjoy most?

    I love seafood! Oysters, crabs, and shrimp. If I were to choose a cuisine that I enjoy the most, I would choose Japanese, Chinese and Korean cuisine since I love ramen, sushi, dumplings and samgyeopsal!

    If you could be a superhero or villain, who will you be?

    If I could be a superhero, I would choose to be Wonder Woman. I love her compassion and kindness and how she hates and fights against injustice. She’s a brave woman who wants to make this world a better place.

    Would you rather stay in or go out for a date?

    If it’s my first time to meet a guy, I’d prefer to go out for a date. But once I’m comfortable being around him, that’s when I’d prefer staying at home and spending quality time with him. Nothing beats relaxing at the comfort of your home while watching your favorite movies with someone special.

    What do you not get about guys?

    I don’t understand why some guys tend to bottle up their emotions. I don’t get why they think that showing their ‘soft side’ is considered a weakness. They don’t feel comfortable sharing their problems or feelings – they just keep it to themselves. I just think that showing and expressing how you truly feel doesn’t make you any less of a man.

    In my opinion, being sexy is not just limited to the physical attributes of a person. I have always admired women who are focused on their goals without depending on anyone. For me, intelligence and confidence is sexy.

    For me, fashion is being comfortable on the clothes you are wearing and not by just following the trends. For inspiration I’m more on street wear. 

    Do you have any hobbies or interests?

    My hobbies changes from time to time, now I’m more interested on watching K-dramas plus lately I’ve been really fan-girling to the max over a K-pop boy group named Astro! Yes check them out. Haha! 

    Which food or cuisine do you love most?

    I’ve tried different cuisines but in the end I would still pick Filipino cuisine. Nothing beats Sinigang, Kare Kare and our fresh seafood recipes here in the Philippines! 

    If you could time travel, where will you like to go and witness?

    It’s a bit personal but If I could, I will go way back when my dad was still alive to witness and appreciate more of his love for our family and also his hard work.  

    What 3 things do you enjoy doing most in the city you live in?

    First, I LOVE eating at small restaurants around here. Second, hanging out with my friends because we all live near each other here (of course we can’t hang out too often these days because of COVID) and the third one would probably be visiting the nearby malls to shop for food or other stuff. 

    Would you rather be completely invisible for one day or be able to fly for one day?

    I would rather fly so I could go to different places that I want to go quickly and to appreciate the nature’s beauty up above.  

    What do you not get about the opposite sex?

    I’m not sure if this is the answer to this question. But what I don’t get about the opposite sex is why do they have to be so obsessed with their ego? I’m not generalizing though, but most of them I think strongly value it and sometimes it becomes a big conflict on relationships/friendships.

    And lastly, why do some men think that when a woman glams up, it’s about trying to impress them, which is clearly FALSE. We glam up for ourselves only. Sorry boys.

    Hello kittens. My name is Alice. I come from a far distant Russia, where people drink vodka Bearback. I’m a cosplayer, blogger and even a Tiktoker, no matter how scary the last paragraph sounds, I’m not afraid to admit it.

    By profession, I am a mobile app designer and I love everything related to design and drawing. I also love games and I have my own small channel on YouTube, where I talk about games and everything that is connected with them.. 

    How did your interest in cosplaying come about?

    When I was in the last grade of school, my friends got a game on PSP bleach. We spent a lot of time playing it during lessons LOL. At some point, I wanted to take top billing and I began to watch this anime to understand who was the coolest. And I didn’t notice how I liked the anime itself, and a little later after watching a couple of hundred animes, I realized that I wanted to translate the characters I liked in real life.

    Which was your most challenging cosplay character you have done so far?

    This is definitely Raftalia from the Rice of the Shield Hero. I had to sew the cloth part of the costume and at the same time, find a 3D designer who can make her sword only from anime frames and approximate sizes. Since then, I prefer not to make characters from ongoings.

    What is a typical day like for you?

    I get up quite late, usually around 10 in the morning. I reply to work mail and comments on social networks. Sometimes I go to the office, but I prefer to work remotely. If I have time, I can play a little or retouch the photos. Most often, of course I work until 6pm and drawing layouts in Figma.

    In the evening, I prefer to meet friends or watch anime in good company. Unfortunately, the life of the cosplayer is not as interesting as many people think.

    If you could be an anime or cartoon character for real, who will you be?

    I think I would definitely be Chokola from Nekopara. I’m the same fidget and love to eat.

     

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?

    I think 10. I really like to eat very tasty food. As Kojima used to say, what’s the point of living if you don’t eat deliciously? Or did Chuck Norris say it?

    Would you rather have the ability to stop time or talk to animals?

    I’m calling a Khajiit, and it means that of being here and thinking of nothing. Of course, to stop time, so I can rob any bank.

     

    What is a funny or lame attempt a guy has tried to know you before?

    One dude jokingly offered me $500 if I answered him, I wrote to him that I’m not such a girl, but $500 is $500. I really love people with a good sense of humor.

    Best compliment I have ever received has been people telling me how much of a great soul I have and how much I inspire them.

    How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?

    A typical day for me is being booked at least twice for the day with a clothing brand or music video, meeting new people and networking.

    Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?

    I have done a few acting gigs like comedy skits and a few commercials, but I would actually love to start in a movie and take some acting classes.

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?

    I had a magazine shoot for the first time and I usually don’t wear fake nails so I went to the beauty supply and got myself the ones you press on and OMG, every time I pose, one of the nails would fall off haha. Totally embarrassing at the moment.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Lamest attempt would have been trying to make me believe that we know each other already to make a whole dialogue.

    We had a team building at the beach and my workmates hitched a ride on me, and we have this new workmate who left his phone in the car. He asked our team leader to contact me and meet me to get his phone. When he got his phone, he thanked me a lot, apologized for the trouble and asked me for a date. LOL.

    My name is Lauren Burch, and I am an 18 year old model and YouTuber. I have a twin sister named Julia Burch, and I danced competitively for six years growing up. I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. However it is my dream to move to Los Angeles, California as soon as possible.

    Where did your inspiration to be a model come from?

    My inspiration to become a model definitely came from my twin sister, Julia Burch. She got into the industry a few months before I did, and after awhile, I became interested in pursuing the same kind of work as she was. It was definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made.

    What is your most fun or memorable modeling experience so far?

    My most memorable modelling experience was definitely both times I travelled to Los Angeles, California to shoot with my agent. LA is definitely my favourite place to be, so being able to model there was the best.

    If you could improve one thing about the modeling industry, what will it be?

    The modelling industry has come a long way when it comes to accepting all body types into the industry, however it still has a long way to go. Before I began modelling, I was still interested in that type of work. However, I always thought that I was too short to be a model. Luckily I was able to model despite my height. But I definitely hope that the modelling industry continues to become more open about accepting any and all body types.

    How do you like to spend your free time?

    I definitely love to spend my time either hanging out with friends, partying, and just being outside. Although I am very shy, I love to be out and doing things. I am a very active person and I love to be out and have fun!

    What have you always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?

    I really want to start going to the gym more. I am already really proud of my body, but I would love to go to the gym more, just to tone my body a little bit more, and because working out is very good for mental health. I have a gym membership, but I just need to find some time to actually go!

    Would you rather be able to mind read or teleport?

    Definitely teleport. Just because reading someone’s mind would be really interesting, but it could have some negative outcomes from it as well. Such as hearing someone’s negative thoughts about you. But being able to teleport would be amazing because travel would be free, easy, and you would never have to buy a car or board a plane. Just lots of travel!

    What is a funny or awkward attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    There are too many to count hahah. But there was this one guy who offered me $2000 in cash just to go on a date with him. I said no lol.

    I think that “sexy” is completely relative to the person. It is impossible to define a word that changes per person. For example, some person might find slim thick sexy, whereas another person may specifically only enjoy tall slim girls. So I think that any body can be sexy. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, and anyone can be sexy.
