    Cosplayer & Music Producer Lena

Hey! My name is Lena aka Lalena, or Lalenabee, I’m a 24-year-old cosplayer/music producer, I’m half Thai, half German, born in Germany and currently live in the Netherlands.

When did you first start to cosplay?

I don’t know the exact date and time, but officially only since the start of 2019, although I went to Cons before ever since I was 15 (especially Gamescom) and I had several costumes before, just rarely shared the pictures or made an official cosplay account.

Which characters have you enjoyed cosplaying most so far?

That’s difficult to say, but if I had to choose I’d say D.Va. I’ve walked past a father with his two daughters and the daughters started screaming “D.VA! Dad, there’s D.Va!” They ran to me and we took pictures and they were doing all the D.VA poses, they were so excited it almost brought tears to my eyes.

Do you have any other hobbies or interests?

I think my three biggest interests next to cosplaying are definitely gaming, music, and fashion. I have a big heart for Eastern Asian fashion. I like to mix up some of the characters I cosplay with casual outfit ideas for them. I think of outfits that fit them, so I like to be up to date with fashion.

As for games, I love to play competitive games like LoL or Overwatch, but also just games with a good story like Life Is Strange. As for music, I love to write songs, just improvise on my keyboard, or dig through music I’ve never heard before. I’m very open to all kinds of music genres.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a superstitious person are you?

I would like to say a 1, but since my mother is a strict Buddhist I guess it transferred over to me a little, so I guess it would be 6. I think twice before I kill a scary spider on my wall, at least if it’s not a terrifying big one. I guess the concept of Karma will always stick with me.

What is the best compliment you have received?

It’s hard to pick the best one, but I think when I get told that I inspire someone, those are the best compliments.

If you could learn anything in this world, what will it be?

I would love to become a better dancer, so if I could choose I would like to learn dancing, like the background dancer pros in K-Pop videos.

What is a funny or lame attempt a guy has tried to know you?

I hope the guy won’t read this. But someone once wrote me a message after a convention, saying that he was too shy to walk up to me to ask for a hug or a picture and that he was searching through the conventions Hashtag on Instagram all day to find me (by looking for a picture of me).

I said that I only went there for one day (which was a Wednesday, but I didn’t tell him) and that’s when he told me he also only went on Thursday, which wasn’t even the day I was there, it was just the date I uploaded the picture. He blocked me, I guess because he knew that I knew that he was probably not even at the convention.

    Nice try though!

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Lena. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is when someone is confident enough to get the best out of what their mothers gave them.

  • Thai DJ & Producer Yukie From Bangkok

Thai DJ & Producer Yukie From Bangkok

Thank you for having me, My name is DJ Yukie from Bangkok, Thailand. I’ve been in the music industry for about 10 years now performing in clubs around the world, from America to Australia to Switzerland to France and throughout Asia.

What inspired you to be a DJ?

I’ve loved music since I was really young. My whole family is involved in music as well so it was an easy transition for me. I guess the first time I every really wanted to DJ was when my dad show me his vinyl collection and then I headed over to YouTube. That’s when I stumbled upon some DJ performance videos. I can’t remember who it was but it really sparked my interest and from there, the rest is history.

Is it tough being a DJ and performing in front of crowds?

I would say that it is just hard in the beginning but as you gain experience, it becomes second nature.

What kind of music are you into?

My favorite genre would for sure be hip hop and rap but actually, I am really into everything from bass house to dubstep, it really depends on the day. Some artists I think I couldn’t live without though would be rappers like J. Cole, Guru and Jazzmatazz. Jazzy music that is about life and staying motivated.

Which is your go to drink you’ll always order at a club?

I don’t drink often but if I had to say my go to would definitely have to be Vodka & Redbull. Have to keep the energy up.

Do you have a beauty regime to look so fabulous?

Yea of course. I exercise everyday, especially my abs to stay fit and firm. I also love to use waist trainer belts. Other than that I just make sure I always eat healthy and get lots of rest which is hard with the traveling nightlife schedule.

Where can we catch you performing most of the time?

I am always traveling and performing in different cities but my base would be in clubs around Bangkok. My IG @DJYukieMusic always has my updated schedule.

What is a funny or lame attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Haha funny question. Let me think. Mostly it comes in the form of texts. So many flirty and weird ones. Also people love to fight to get in the front row at my shows to try and get my attention while I’m performing. One moment that really sticks out was when a guy tried to climb the speakers yelling my name. Security handled that one real fast.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions DJ Yukie. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

I would define sexy as confidence. Being fierce, from the way you walk to the way you talk, having confidence and pride in yourself is what makes you fabulous.

  • LA Music Producer & DJ, Marzia D’orlando

LA Music Producer & DJ, Marzia D’orlando

Hi guys! Thank you for having me. I was born and raised in Milan. I’m a DJ and a music producer and I moved to LA about 6 years ago. I started DJ-ing in 2008. I like traveling, exercising, going to amusement parks and hanging with friends. But mostly you can find me in the studio making my own beats.

Where and when did your inspiration for music start from?

My passion for music definitely started on my teenage years when I was a GoGo dancer. I was always around great DJs and music. I remember I was so passionate about it that I started making CDs for all my friends, but it was in 2008 that I decided that I wanted to be a DJ myself after watching “Berlin Callin”,  a documentary about the life of DJ Paul Kalkbrenner, who is my favorite DJ and guru indeed.

What other hobbies do you have?

I love spinning, boot camps, cooking and shopping.

How is your fashion style like?

Definitely trend driven. I love to follow fashion and play dress up. I have an expensive taste for shoes, Louboutins are my favorite. I’m also obsessed with sportswear (Nike and Adidas are my favs) and lingerie. Love taking pictures of myself with some agent provocateur on.

If you could collaborate with anyone past or present, who will it be?

There’s so many artistes I admire but my favorite from the present are Moby, Daft Punk, The Weekend and Lana del Ray. It would be amazing making a song with all of them. From the past, my favorite is Bob Marley. He was a poet and a genius, his songs will always be legendary.

    Which is your favorite drink?

I love apple Martinis and smoothies, I can’t live without it.

What is the sexiest item in your wardrobe?

Everything in my wardrobe is sexy. I love to show some skin, which recently put me in trouble. I was fired from being too sexy at a show!

Which is the lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

I have a large following on social media, so sometimes guys send pictures of their junk, not only lame…it’s also disgusting. If you are a guy and you are reading this…it’s not too late to stop being lame!

Thank you for taking your time to answer our questions on SimplySxy, Marzia. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

For me, sexy is confidence. Also, sexy is being your true self without care for what people or society thinks. Sexy is doing whatever you want with your life and being happy.

  • DJ & Music Producer Darling Sabrina

DJ & Music Producer Darling Sabrina

Hi Darling Sabrina, thank you for taking the time to answer our questions on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hi SimplySxy, it’s definitely my honor to be featured here, thanks.

I’m Darling Sabrina, a Professional DJ since 2009, a Music Producer, a Drummer, also a Dreamer of course.

    3

How did you get into DJing?

To be honest, I had never thought of becoming a DJ, I just simply love MUSIC, since I was 5. Mom told me that I used to run around the house singing and dancing, especially when there were some guests visiting us, I wasn’t shy at all. I have always wanted to become a singer and a song writer, I picked up several instruments at school and I can still play them pretty well. Well, for some personal reasons, I didn’t make it to continue my studies to be a song writer, neither a singer. I started working in a law firm after I came back from Singapore, I was very young and I did not know where to go, I was kinda lost.

    5

One day, I was randomly drinking with a friend at the bar, he told me that he was a freelance DJ and he showed me how fun it was to become a DJ. I tried to find out more about DJing, turned out it’s really fun! Initially, I started playing for fun, and I eventually made it as my full-time job SOMEHOW. In 2010, I decided to leave my hometown – Ipoh to the big city – Kuala Lumpur for a proper DJ course and for a bigger chance to expand my career as a DJ. I started all over again by learning with turntables at Royale DJ Academy.

    8

Do you feel that the crowd is able to appreciate the difficulties of DJing if they don’t know what is happening behind the decks, or are they just there to enjoy the music?

Well, it depends. Some think that we DJs are just pressing buttons and it seems like a super easy job for them, haha. Some will appreciate everything I do behind the decks, they will love every track I play or they are just very educated in music.

    4

What is one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you hear it?

Oh, there are a lot. Hmmmmm, if I have to pick one, it will be – Solarstone & Clare Stagg – Jewel (Solarstone Pure Mix). I even cry sometimes when I listen to it, it’s so beautiful.

    7A

How do you see the balance between giving the crowd what they want and treating them to something new?

I will ALWAYS give the crowd what they want, but never forget to play what I love and what I want to show them too. For example, if I am going to play 60 tracks for a show, I will probably play 30 tracks of what everyone may like and another 30 tracks that most of them might not know or might not have heard before. It’s kinda like a music education, of course I will also have to play by ear, it has to be flexible and go along with their reaction. Besides, Interaction plays a crucial role too. My job is to make sure everyone is happy at the end of the night and it’s fair enough!

    6

Does being a DJ make it easier to model as you are already used to the spotlight?

Nothing is easier or harder. I take pride in whatever I do, I do whatever I love, and I love making my passion my profession, my career. I am a typical Sagi, it’s always like this, either I do my best or I won’t even start. I believe if I was not a DJ today, I’ll still steal the spotlight with whatever I do.

    9A

What is the longest you have gone without any sleep?

You mean the longest trip or performance? If it’s performance, my record is to spin a 6-hour set NONSTOP. If it’s referred to a trip, I think the most insane one is my first DJ Tour to China. My Emcee and I travelled 5 different cities in 5 days, 3 epic shows and we only had 8 hours (or maybe lesser) of sleep in total of 5 days! But it ended very well and we definitely put on our best show.

    15A

Describe the perfect party to you.

I would love to organize my own PRIVATE rave, probably something like A State of Trance? From sunrise to sunset, playing the music genre that I love the most – Trance, for all the people I love, including my family and friends. It might be on my wedding day, so wait for it!

    11A

It’s a pleasure to feature you Darling Sabrina. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is an ATTITUDE, it’s all about how you present yourself. For example, I can be sexy with my pyjamas on, even the way I flip my hair can be sexy too, I don’t have to wear a bikini or undress myself for anyone to define how sexy I am. Sexy is also when a person is being SMART, INDEPENDENT, ADVENTUROUS,

SELF-ASSURED, SOPHISTICATED, and with a sense of HUMOR.
