    It’s an honor to be featured! A little about me: I’m 24 and have a 14-year-old dachshund and a one-year-old dachshund beagle mix. They’re my children, and they both have the sassiest personalities.

    I always have a hard time answering where I’m from. I moved to Starkville, MS from Cleveland, OH around the age of 9. I lived in Mississippi until I graduated high school. You could say I’m a mix of a northern and southern girl. From there, I’ve lived in Italy, Atlanta, GA, and as of this past year, I currently reside in Sacramento, CA.

    MY FASHION STYLE

    I only feel I have found my true fashion sense this year. Before I used to run with the trends and quickly got tired of pieces in my closet when the trend slowed down. In 2023, I’ve only been thrifting my clothes, and this has allowed me to be more creative and expressive with my style. I have been searching for and purchasing a lot of bohemian-style pieces. I love it when I find handmade, one-of-a kind-pieces.

    FOODIE FAVORITES

    I’m a huge foodie and have hundreds of food videos, mainly from Atlanta since Atlanta is such a great foodie city. My favorite food hands down is noodles. The thicker the noodle the better. Garlic noodles with a little spice is *chefs kiss*. I’m also a Mac and cheese and fries connoisseur. If the fries aren’t crispy, I don’t want them.

    HOBBIES / INTERESTS

    I’m a huge self-care enthusiast. I get the most happiness from traveling and trying new places, but I find the most fulfillment in the everyday slow living with my fiancé and dogs. I love practicing yoga, skincare, and mindful meditation.

    3 THINGS TO DO IN SACRAMENTO, CA

    1. Visit the California state capital and have a picnic.
    2. Take a stroll around old Sacramento and have a drink aboard the Delta King boat over the American River.
    3. Visit The Bank for a cocktail that has 100 years of rich history behind the beautiful architecture and downstairs vault and taproom.

    EMBARRASSING STORIES

    One of my most embarrassing now funny stories, has to be when I was 15/16, I was traveling with my mom. We were both giggly and sleep-deprived from traveling for a couple of days. The lights were off on the plane, everyone quietly sleeping, and I was just finishing eating my Subway tuna sandwich. I already knew these passengers were annoyed with me, then I decided to begin opening a box of rainbow nerds when the plane started experiencing turbulence. During this turbulence, my rainbow nerds rolled down the airplane walkway. All you could hear during this silent flight was my nerds tumbling.

    LEARN ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD

    Apart from learning as many languages as I can, I am in the process of learning to sew and hopefully create some amazing pieces! A goal of mine is to thrift items that would otherwise go to the landfill, and create elegant clothing that stays in circulation.

    GUYS, WHAT I DON’T GET ABOUT THEM

    Everything but one in particular thing I don’t get about guys is their obsession with sports. I say this as a football coach’s fiancé, I just don’t get the obsession. My fiancé could say the same thing about my obsession with Love Island.

    HOW I DEFINE SEXY

    I define sexy as being yourself. Someone is so sexy when they are themselves unapologetically. Authenticity goes a long way, and there’s something so sexy about it.

    I love dressing up! My sense of style when it comes to fashion is one of the aspects of my life that I am truly confident and proud of. I must say that my style evolved throughout the years. Right now, I dress up after comfort, and with many fashion trends nowadays, I tend to explore as well. I believe there is nothing wrong with dressing up beyond my comfort zone, as long as comfort and my personality is associated with what I am wearing.

    When it comes to shopping, I am a firm believer that style should never cost a huge dime. I hate fast fashion and believe me when I say that 95% of my wardrobe came from the thrift store, and I am not ashamed of it. Not majority of people is fascinated with thrift store and used clothing or other stuff, yet, for me, they provide the sense of uniqueness that I truly wanted to portray with my fashion style. Well, as thrift store patriots say, “Other’s old or used items can be someone’s gem.”.

    For me, at the end of the day, what truly inspires my fashion style is how I wanted to portray myself to others because I believe that dressing up is not only an extension of our personality and but also a form of art and expression as well.

    Do you have a lifestyle or fashion hack that you can’t live without?

    I have so many in mind, yet, the one that always stood out the most is simply being grateful. I always keep in mind that whatever I have in life, I should be grateful. Even on small things, I always say grace for it. Being grateful for whatever you have at the moment is simply being gracious with the blessings that you received.

    On the other hand, one fashion hack I cannot live without, when in doubt, just wear black. 

    Which 3 things do you enjoy doing most in the city you live in?

    I am always after chill moments, and what I enjoy doing most in the city I currently live in are the following: thrift stores, cafes, and its people. This city is little yet charming and quaint in its own way. People here are full of warmth and optimism.

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?

    I am a foodie all the way! A solid 10 for me. One thing my father taught me was to willingly spend on food. Food does not only fulfill our hunger, it goes deep into our soul feeding us nourishment, satisfaction, and incredible experience.

    If you can have a super power, what will it be?

    It has been one of my greatest heartbreak when my father passed away, and if ever superpowers simply exist, how I wish to have the ability to time travel. How I wish to travel back in those times where I can cherish again the moments with him.

    What kind of music are you into and do you have any favorite artists?

    Music is like a free therapy session. My taste for music depends on my mood, though I am leaning towards alternative, rock, RNB, and hip-hop. And if you will ask me about the artists that I can listen to for days, hands down, it will be the following:  Lorde, Paramore, Birdy, Taylor Swift, and Post Malone.

    What turns you off on a date?

    Unfortunately, I have never gone on so many dates, but the main red flag for me would be using phones during the date. Why not put the phones away and pretend it’s 1985? No distraction at all, just pure and genuine conversations.

    How long have you been a blogger and what made you decide to start your website?

    I started IreviewUread in 2012 while I was in studying for my diploma. With a forgiving curriculum, I decided to open a blog for me to review beauty products. Back then, my only idea of skincare products is pimple cream and moisturizer. I gathered various complimentary beauty samples and researched more about the subject before crafting the blog posts.

    Soon, companies started to endorse IreviewUread and the blog have been running ever since.

    What content do you usually love to share?

    When I first started, I focused on beauty products and services. Over the years, my interests broaden and I started reviewing lifestyle products and creating DIY tutorials. These days, I seemed to be going back to the basics of learning about my skin for I am simply obsessed with skincare products at this new age (the mid-twenties).

    Are there any life hacks you can’t live without?

    Create a skincare routine that you look forward to doing every day. Not only will the future you thank you, but it creates this important ‘me-time’ for you to take care of yourself daily before you rush off and hustle.

    If you could be a cartoon character for real, who will it be and why?

    I always wanted to be Clover from Totally Spies for she gets to hang out with her friends, go on these shopping trips around the world and try out these amazing gadgets. Of course, there’s the ‘risk your life against bad guys’ part but let’s be optimistic.

    However, the older I am, the more I see the light in being a lazy lasagna eating cat, Garfield.

    Would you rather be able to teleport or read minds?

    I would choose to teleport for that means I wouldn’t need to get on a plane to travel to another country. Being on a plane is not my favourite thing. I guess, all those plane crash movies must’ve gotten to me. Additionally, teleportation means I would never be late for anything ever again.

    On the other hand, reading minds may seem cool but do you really want to know what other people think about you all the time?

    Do you follow a strict beauty regime to look so fabulous?

    I do my skincare routine every day, twice a day. I remove all my makeup before I sleep. A tip for makeup users is to always remove your makeup from your eyes or you’ll get a stye.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    I don’t normally have lame moments with people I just met but I do have the weirdest moment:

    As a promoter back then, I encountered various unique individuals and one of them happens to be with another promoter.

    At first, we chatted to pass time but after he ended his shift, he came over to find me to exchange numbers. Since I had a pleasant time working with him, I thought why not. However, his next move made me regret my decision.

    He leaned towards me and tried to take a selfie of us together without my permission. I immediately stopped him and asked him what was he doing. He said he just wanted to take a photo to “remember this moment”.

    Despite how creepy it sounded, I agreed to the photo for I merely wanted to get back to work.

    After he left, he texted me telling me that he is a mutual friend. I then found out that he is in a relationship with my classmate’s good friend.

    It made me question two things:

    1. Why did he hit on me if he is in a relationship?

    2. Was he sent as a spy?

    Weirded out by the entire situation, I blocked him and never seen him again.

    I spoke to my classmate after blocking him to realise that she barely remembers him and he has always come off as creepy to her.

    With that experience, I learnt a valuable lesson: Stop giving out phone numbers to strangers.

    I link sexy to confidence. It’s not just about how one dress or how one’s body looks. Instead, it is how you carry yourself and how you present yourself to the world. I believe that a confident person is the sexiest person.

    Hi SimplySxy! Thank you for featuring me. I am from Sri Lanka currently living in Singapore. I would say that I have an outgoing, conservative personality. I worked in brand marketing communications previously and now I am a freelance artwork designer, product photographer, calligrapher, content creator and a blogger with an outgoing personality.

    What is your fashion style like and where do you draw inspiration from?

    I could say that my style is constantly evolving. However I feel like I am always drawn to boho aesthetic shades and styles. I do love trying out new fashion styles. My inspiration mostly comes from Pinterest.

    Do you follow a regular beauty regime?

    It usually starts with lighting a scented candle in the morning, a peaceful relaxed mind before anything else. I have been dealing with acne for the longest time so it has always been important for me to be consistent with three steps of cleansing, moisturizing and especially sun protection regardless of whether I’m indoors or outdoors.

    Which are your favorite types of food?

    I am a big fan of rice, so Sri Lankan rice and curry is a favourite of mine. I also love Mexican and Indian food. Lastly but surely, donuts and croissants!

    What are 3 sights you recommend to tourists to take in when visiting your country?

    If anyone ever visits Sri Lanka, there are many beautiful places to see. If I had to pick 3, definitely go to Ella, Arugam Bay and Mirissa.

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adrenaline junkie are you?

    I’d say a 5 but if anyone hypes me up, I’m down for it haha!

    Would you rather have the power to control objects or animals?

    I wouldn’t say power to “control”, but it would be amazing if I could have the power to communicate with animals because I love animals!

    What turns you off on a date?

    Disrespect, ego and arrogance.

    I am from Houston, TX. Being from the South Asian household, my first exposure to beauty was my mom’s kajal that I would put in my waterline. That was the only makeup I would wear in my adolescent. Growing up, I was a tomboy. I was not into fashion or makeup or even keeping up with the current trends. I was more focused in school and extracurricular activities such as Student Council, Poetry club, Art club and Debate club. After graduating from college and stepping into the corporate field, I became more interested in fashion/makeup as I was earning income to afford it.

    Aside from blogging and sharing my favorite finds on Instagram, I do work full time as an HR consultant. Helping people grow and prosper in their career has always been a passion of mines.

    Do you have any hobbies or interests?

    I love traveling. My bio in my Instagram states “wanderlust”. My biggest advice I would give 20-year old’s is travel if you can. Clubbing/Partying is fun for a while, however, traveling creates memories. This world has a lot to offer. I have been to Miami, Saudi Arabia, New York, India, Las Vegas and Grand Canyon. I do have a bucket list of places I still would like to visit, however, due to covid it halted. I cannot wait to travel again and make more memories.

    I also love running. It helps me clear my mind and helps with stress. I tend to overthink about things and I feel at peace after running few miles.

    What inspires your fashion style?

    My fashion style is inspired by classy and chic looks. I admire former first lady Jacqueline O. Kennedy and Coco Chanel. I like outfits that can be versatile. I like to wear clothes that can be worn different ways and does not take long time to style. I love brands that offer variety of sizes because size “zero” does not fit all.

    Before Covid, I would go into the office early morning and come up with outfits to wear for the week during on Sunday evening. My style I would can be worn by the busy mom, or the woman on the go.

    Which is the best compliment you have received?

    Beauty with brains. It meant a lot to me that I was noticed beyond my looks.

    How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?

    As I am working full time, I am currently balancing my life as a blogger/consultant. I currently work a hybrid model at work and the days I do go in the office, I do work 10 – 12 hours. Even working from home, I am committed to working long hours. However, during the weekend I like to plan my content. I am selective with the brands I work with as I do not have the bandwidth. Currently I create monthly content for Express and just started working with White House Black Market. My beautiful Mom takes my photos and loving I call her my “Momager”.

    Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?

    I always wanted to fly off an airplane and go camping. I want to do something adventurous and exciting. I also want to drive an ATV through a desert. There are plenty of adventurous things I would love to do if I had the time.

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?

    As we started working from home, we are relying on apps like Microsoft Teams to stay connected with our team members. I had two meetings at the same time n MS Teams. I was not required to attend one meeting, however, I was required to attend the other one. Anyways, I connect to the meeting I am not required to attend and started speaking about something different. Within a minute, I realized I was in the wrong meeting and excused myself to leave. It was so embarrassing! Thank god the management was forgiving! Anyways, this taught me to take a better look at the title.

    What turns you off on a date?

    It has to been when he is on the phone. Nothing irritates me more than when he is on his phone and I am trying to convey something to him. It is not only disrespectful when he is on the phone and providing his full attention to you, but also it is as if he is not interested in you.

    What inspires your fashion style and where do you love to shop from?

    I always believed that “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak”, therefore, I love exploring all kinds of different fashion trends and styles, and draw inspirations from them. I am very open when selecting brands as I focus more on the quality of the product instead of the name.

    How long have you been a blogger and what made you start?

    I always loved travelling and fashion, and that’s how I got started to share my styles on Instagram! I have been sharing my experiences on social media since eight years ago.

    Which 3 things do you enjoy doing most in the city you live in?

    Food always comes first! 😉 There are so many great restaurants and cafes in Toronto that are still on my bucket list for tasting! Another one would be shopping! As a natural habit, I cannot wait to fill my closet with some new styles when the shop doors are open! Last but not least, I love exploring local entertainment venues with my friends. You cannot believe how many hidden gems are in Toronto for Laser Tag, Karaoke, Escape Room and etc.!

    What type of content do you usually create for your follows?

    Currently my content is focused on fashion and lifestyle, I am hoping to create more travel related content once the pandemic ends.

    What is one lifestyle or beauty tip every lady must know?

    Put on sunscreen all the time!

    Would you rather have super sensitive taste or super sensitive hearing?

    Super sensitive taste! I never say no to food. 🙂

    What is a funny or weird attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    Tried to ask me questions in five different languages when I pretended that I don’t understand any.

    Fashion for me is all about how it feels and how I look in it. I can buy something for 10.00 from Walmart or 100.00 from a name brand but it’s all about how I pull it off. I am not one for name brands so I’ll wear anything if it feels right to me.

    Comfort and anything minimalist simple and classy are inspirations for my fashion. I follow a variety of fashion brands from Zara to the latest desi wear. 

    How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?

    There is no typical day with Covid anymore but I work remotely from home with a normal 8-5. I work out religiously and practice self care throughout the day. My self care can consist of my skin care routine to take breaks from social media and work to recharge.

    I also take time to be spiritual and stay close to my roots and family especially living physically far away from them it helps keep me grounded. 

    Do you follow a beauty regime strictly?

    For my beauty regime, I drink water and eat healthy food as much as possible. I believe I look and feel better when I’m watching what I put into my body. I also use cold water or ice on my face in the mornings to help with depuffing of the skin.

    During the night time, that is when I become extensive with my skin routine. I use my serums and oils recommended by my dermatologist and massage my face.

    Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?

    I would love to travel more, however I have not been able to due to Covid. As a Sagittarius, it is something I crave and I’m hoping to go back to doing so. I also would like to collaborate with more brands for my lifestyle page (such as skincare, beauty, fashion, etc).

    On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?

    I’m a true 9-10 on the adventure side.

    Would you rather have the ability to stop time or read minds?

    Neither, I would have the ability to take away people’s pain.

    What do you not get about guys?

    One thing I do not get about guys is their lack of communication (LOL).

    I do have a couple of inspiration about my fashion style. I usually browse Pinterest for some fashion ideas or save some photos of my favorite influencers and try to come up with my own version of that outfit. And my fashion style depends on my mood, sometimes I want to be a woman in heels or a woman in J’s (Air Jordan).

    In terms of shopping, I really patronize our local shops here in the Philippines, such as the online shops on Instagram, Shopee and Lazada. Since pandemic, I’ve been a fan of online shopping. But aside from my love for our local shops, I can’t deny my liking with this specific international brand that everyone is going crazy about it, and that’s Shein.

    I remember hoarding so many clothes from that brand since I went crazy with all their quality and unique products. But of course we are all looking forward that this pandemic will come to an end, and by then, I would love to buy some pieces from Zara, Mango and start investing on some designer clothes.

    Do you follow a regular workout or beauty regime?

    This is a very great question, I’m following this program of Pamela Reif, she is a worldwide fitness sensation, she uploads videos on YouTube for her subscribers to follow. And I’m currently following her program, it’s just been a week when I started working that’s why I haven’t seen the results yet physically, but I can say it helps me more with discipline and health.

    With beauty regime, I always make sure that I won’t skip my skincare routine at night and my sunscreen in the morning. In a day that I have a lot of time, I can do both of my skincare routine in the morning and at night. I always follow this sequence, ensure that I will be able to wash my face with my cleanser and water, apply the toner, then essential water or oil, moisturizer, sunscreen and serum. At night, I will just replace the sunscreen with sleeping mask and put on some eye cream. 

    How is a typical day like for you?

    Since I’m working in a corporate world, my weekdays revolve by working nine hours a day, cleaning my pad, taking care of my dog, squeeze in some workout and cook my own meal. So, I would start my day by making my chocolate drink, checking my emails and social media accounts and prepare food. Then workout for 20 to 30 minutes and prepare for going to work. After a long day at the office, I’ll finally go home and clean up my place, take my dog for a walk and take a rest for the entire night.

    If you could time travel, what will you like to witness or experience?

    If I will be given a chance to travel in the past, I would love to witness the untouched mountains, rivers, oceans, and lands here in the Philippines. I would love to go back to those days.

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?

    I remember way back in 2018, it was my first time working in the corporate world, and I was so nervous to the point that I was so anxious the night before my first day. So the next day while preparing for breakfast and, since it will be a long day for me, I made a coffee for my mother, my cousins and for me so we could talk about how nerve wracking it was for me that in a couple of hours I will be working in one of the biggest insurance company in the United States. So while making coffee for everyone, I put salt instead of sugar and all of us laughed when we had the first sip of our coffee.

    Would you rather be able to play every musical instrument or master every type of sport?

    I’m a musically inclined person so I would love to learn how to play every musical instrument. Especially the violin, harp, and piano. I would love to play these instruments in a recital. I think this will be an added asset for me since I can sing, so if I would know how to play these instruments, that would be a perfect talent for me, I guess. I’m also a member of a choir in our Parish, so if I will be able to play these instruments during our service, it will be an added harmony to our songs.

    What turns you off on a date?

    I don’t judge a man during the first date. I always give chances for him to show me what he’s got and what he can do for the relationship. There’s only one thing that would turn me off on a date and that’s if the man thinks so highly of himself, I really hate the type of personality that does the “all talk, no walk”.     To be honest, I’m the least person you can ever consult about fashion. LOL! I really have no signature look or style. One day, I can be the most sophisticated version of myself and the next day I’m the most ‘rugged’ person ever. And since I’m on a work from home setup for more than a year, I invested more on blazers that I can use during zoom meetings.

    Do you follow a regular beauty or exercise regime?

    I only use a St. Ives facial cleanser, toner, moisturizer and night cream. For exercise, I use my Nike Training Club app and follow Chloe Ting and @growingannanas on YT. I really love them!!!

    Is there any food or drink you absolutely don’t take?

    I’m not a fan of any food with big onion cuts. I also rarely drink softdrinks 🙂

    What hobbies or interests do you have?

    Cooking!!! Cooking keeps me sane from the stressful yet satisfying industry that I’m working with. I’m so happy watching cooking videos and cooking at all!!! Super love itttt!

    Pre pandemic, I really love traveling!

    I’m also an animal welfare advocate. Please please let’s be kind to animals! we don’t know their struggles, we don’t know how hard it is to be hungry and in pain but you have no idea how to say it.

    If you could choose to remove one misconception forever, what will it be?

    That once women are married, they should stay home, take care of everyone in the house and not work. Hell no! We are women, we are strong and can be anyone we want to be. Being married should not be a hindrance in achieving our growth and development in terms of career.

    Which flavor best describes you?

    Sweet and spicy LOL. Haha my sun is Gemini so people tend to see that I change my mood within a snap.

    What turns you off on a date?

    When my date disrespects the waiter, parking guy, utility guy or security guard.

    Hi everyone! I’m Lisa from Boston, MA. I actually just graduated and have decided to stay in Boston for work. I am currently working as a marketing specialist for a healthcare company.

    Most people online know me as Sehisa – a name I’ve created for myself years ago to use as a fun nickname and gamertag. I’ve always wanted to share my fashion, beauty, and lifestyle pics in general with the world but had wanted to remain anonymous back then, so when I first started my page, I used the name Sehisa instead of my real name and it has stuck around ever since.

    How is your fashion style like and where do you draw inspiration from?

    For the most part, my fashion style can be described as girly/cute aesthetic. I enjoy wearing vibrant and pastel colors, especially pinks and am always in dresses or skirts which you can see in most of my photos.

    At the same time, I also like to switch up my style often [off camera] based on how I’m feeling or what’s trending. I enjoy trying different aesthetics because it’s fun to try new looks. Some days, I’ll want to go for a classic elegant look in neutral colors and another day, I’ll want to go for a more baddie vibe with an all-black/streetwear outfit. I get most of my inspirations from Pinterest and other fashion influencers/accounts that I follow on Instagram.

    Do you have any favorite food or cuisine you can’t live without?

    I am a huge foodie and always love going on food adventures. The one type of food that is my favorite is hotpot! It’s always my go-to no matter what the weather is like or any time of the day. I love researching new hotpot places everywhere I go to try.

    As for drinks, I am obsessed with bubble tea and need to have at least one bubble tea drink every week! My favorite is the regular black milk tea with boba.

    Is there a beauty or exercise regime you follow regularly?

    I don’t have any specific beauty routine but the one thing that I have to use every day is moisturizer. It’s the one thing that I can’t live without. In the winter my skin is super dry and in the summer it’s oily, so I’ve been using a combo skin type moisturizer from Nature Republic that I discovered a few years ago and have been using ever since.

    If you could change one thing about the world, what will it be?

    I could talk about this topic all day but to keep it short: Racism. I know it’s a stretch as of right now but there’s nothing more that I want than for all of the racism in this world to stop. Especially ever since the pandemic hit, this problem has been at an all-time high – especially for Asians. I don’t understand why it still exists but I am all for doing anything I can to support those who are victims of racism or hate crimes.

    Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?

    I have been in so many situations like that I could list them for days! But I remember this one time back when I was in college, my friends and I were calling an Uber to go to a rave and we ended up getting into a random stranger’s car by accident thinking it was our Uber because the cars look exactly the same. It was so embarrassing but funny now that I think about it.

    Which flavor best describes you?

    I would say strawberry. It is usually represented as a cute pink color and I think it fits my aesthetic the most hahah. Also, strawberry is usually my go-to flavor for everything – especially strawberry ice cream.

    What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

    I think the funniest attempt that a guy has ever tried to know me was by sending me food pictures on snap hoping that I would be interested because he knew that I liked going out to eat often and trying new types of food.
