Fashion & Lifestyle Influencer, Christine Vu

I love mixing it up my fashion style all the time, but I do prefer the soft girl look which is made up of mini-dresses, skater skirts, and girly accessories like pastel hair clips. Besides that, I like dressing down simple as well, such as oversized t-shirts and comfy sweaters.

Brand names don’t matter too much to me because I love a good sale and thrift shopping, but you can never go wrong with a nice handbag. I’m usually inspired by the latest trends on social media or by icons such as Ariana Grande and Madison Beer.

Do you have any quotes or mottos you like to use in life?

“I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you’ve actually left them.”

Yes, this is from The Office. I think it’s important to appreciate the good in the “now” of things instead of looking for the negatives to complain about. I really try to live life in the most positive, carefree attitude I can.

Is there something in life you can’t get enough of?

The time I have left with my best friend. She’s a 12 year old Dachshund and it doesn’t matter how much time out of the day I spend playing with her, it’s just not enough.

Which 3 things do you enjoy doing most in the city you live in?

Hitting the malls with my girl friends is one of my favorite things to do. I also enjoy discovering small bakeries and cafes to satisfy my sweet tooth. At night, hitting the popular bars and clubs are a must, but that’s on hold right now for the pandemic. I can’t wait to return to the nightlife scene.

If you could change or improve one thing about the world, what will it be?

A big problem I want to change is discrimination. We are the same people at the end of the day regardless of how we look on the outside, who we’re attracted to, and how we identify ourselves. Having respect for one another is a large step towards a greater future..

Would you rather invent a new gadget or discover a new species?

A new gadget, of course! I would patent that gadget, collect my check, then leave. Adios!

Does chivalry still exist today?

I hear a lot of arguments about this between my friends. Yes, it does exist, but you can’t expect it from every man. It’s similar to how men can’t expect every girl he meets to be genuinely sweet. When chivalry is found, it is absolutely appreciated.

Sexy to me is being confident and bold. Sexy is being able to walk into a room, knowing what is yours, and being able to take it. Sexy is the eye contact you give when heading in their direction. Sexy doesn’t mean you have to show off your skin, it’s your attitude.

I think beauty is taking care of yourself, a total care of your body from inside out. Beauty is not just outside, you have to take care of the inside as well. Are you taking care of your organs? Are your cholesterol numbers of good? How’s the blood pressure? Your heart rate? and how is your eating habit? Is it balance and healthy?

So, I think beauty is combing you appearances, your QI, your lifestyle and eating habits are extremely important to express the BEAUTY OF YOU to people.

Unfortunately most people don’t care too much and don’t know how to eat healthy.

My Beauty Regime

I have been taking traditional Chinese ginseng as my inner beauty body regime to keep me energetic and rejuvenated in every way.

I like to use Monat skincare as my go to beauty skincare, it’s vegan and no animal testing, and also antiaging.

I use ELF for makeup often, will always love to discover more vegan, cruelty free makeup products in the future.

How Important Is Skin Care?

I would say there are two parts that are very important; what we use from outside is for cleaning skin purposes, and the product you choose can be environmentally friendly, no animal testing and naturally vegan. I think that will be the best to the human race and to our beautiful earth.

Does Good Fashion Sense Help?

I think yes, a good fashion sense can help you a lot in your daily life, for example a job interview, meeting new friends, going to a party or business seminar. A good fashion sense can help you lots for networking and first impression for business purposes.

3 Essential Items In My Wardrobe

Modern chic, cool, edgy, casual smart comfortable, and sometimes sporty

Three things in my wardrobe:

Important Tips Every Lady Should Follow!

Here are some important tips I think is very important to follow and need to be taking care of:

Your lifestyle (fitness, sleep, mood, stress)

Your eating habits (healthy, skin glow, your hair, your body fat)

Skincare (vegan, cruelty free, contains no chemicals)

Nutrients (what is your body missing, this effects your QI)

Fashion sense (your appearance)

A good heart (do good to help others)

In order to have a beautiful body (glowing skin, beautiful hair, healthy body, good shape and body weights of your body, what you wear when you go out, your true age, you can look much younger if you are taking really good care of your body)

It is extremely important to take care of all these parts!

What It’s Like To Be A Nail Artist

My personal views towards beauty and fashion:

This circle called ‘fashion and beauty’ always develops, including how we put our clothes and put our makeup on, how we dress ourselves. People’s views about beauty and fashion are always shifting over time. In the past, they have many or certain standards to be declared beautiful or fashionable. As time goes by, people’s perspectives are changing (the beauty and fashion world evolved very fast). Therefore many new ideas are born, so they begin to accept that beauty and fashion are unique in many ways.

I believe that beauty and fashion trends will continue to expand themselves to be more amazing than then and now.

I think a more expansive world has arrived where ‘we are all beautiful‘ in our own style (if we can rock it well).

What Got Me Started As A Nail Artist

I’m obsessed with nails, nail arts and all things nails from senior high, but not the ‘gel’ nail polish , it’s the basic nail polish. I got my first ‘nail gel’ done during the last semester of college (I took faculty of interior design). I think ‘nail gel’ is amazing, they are really durable, very shiny and beautiful, even just the basic one color gel, or just glitter gel (they are already perfect).

After three times of doing the nail gel, I decided to learn how to make it because it’s hard to achieve the design that I want it to be, because I majored in design and I love art from elementary school, so it’s easier for me when I am studying about nail art or nail design. After learning and studying nail gel for four months, (and finished my college) I started working in an interior design office as an interior designer, at the same time I also started the profession as a nail artist (August 2018).

What I Love About Being A Nail Artist

I love doing nails, exploring many nail designs, and how to make nails to become more beautiful in any shape, even the short ones. I don’t want people to think that short nails are ugly, I want people to know that all forms of nails can be beautiful. I love to treat my customers’ nails, I love seeing them happy to have their nails done. I have joy when I’m doing nails, and I also got lots of friends from being a nail artist.

I learned that small things matter in many ways (in life, even when I decorate my customer nails) , and if you care about your nails, I think you are the people who have high consideration for anything, because you care about nails, even though they are small.

I also can meet a lot of new people. I’ve also made nails for Miss Earth Indonesia 2019 and Putri Pariwisata Indonesia 2019.

Is It Difficult To Be A Nail Artist?

It all depends. You have to be diligent, every time you make nails you need to study their nails, each customer’s nails have their own challenge. You need to practice, so you will get better over time , don’t forget that practice makes you perfect .

Take a few nail classes, so you can upgrade your skills. Look for references too.

Keeping In Touch With Latest Fashion Trends

It’s really important to search for new trends in nails.

In magazines (there are so many nail magazines that teach about nails and discuss the latest trends) or in other alternatives like Pinterest, Instagram, the internet. The change of seasons also influences nail trends. If winter comes, they want their nails to have hand painted snowflakes, or a Christmas vibe on their nails. If spring comes they want flowers, or sakura nails. it all depends. But as a nail artist we can give them ideas, choices or options and which design that suits their nails.

Advice For Aspiring Nail Artists

Don’t be afraid to start new things, just do it 🙂

Do it with heart, it will be reflected in the nails you made. Our work is work that sells a service, so we must have a sincere heart to serve. So we can see the smile of our client and customers.

Do it with joy, and learn from mistakes, keep learning everyday, and learn to always follow the latest trends.

It’s hard to remember, but of all compliments. Which beauty products should every lady own?

The first thing ever to all women is with regard to the face, is to cleanse well the face and use a cream specific based on the skin type on the face, neck and décolleté … use a good make up corrective. With regards to the body, always use creams that feed on the skin and critical points of the abdomen, buttocks and thighs with products such as cellulite and wraps sludge thermal … of course you should always make a bit of physical activity …

Is there any item in your wardrobe that is a must have?

I love a lot of the fur and obviously use those ecological ones which I like a lot. Am a lover of bags and accessories, which can enhance the most of the heads that I wear … .adore shoes with rhinestones, lace and applications …

If you could change one thing about the world, what will it be?

If I could change something, cambierei many things … there are many things you should not be well … the power on the other and violence towards people and corruption are the things that make me indignano, I’m scared, and I addolorano in this today’s society … because I realize that we are so strong and so fragile, I hope in ogniuno of US prevail always justice and knowing how to evaluate things and the others for what they are and not for what it takes to believe to be.

Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now when you look back?

Embarrassing was the first time that I had to sing … my professor from guitar high school had organized an essay at the year-end and made me sing a song of Celine Dion – “My Heart Will Go On” … Music is my passion that I brought forward for several years between lessons of singing and playing the piano, is a passion that unfortunately, I could not to realize in it seriously.

What turns you off on a date and have you had a bad date experience?

The negative experiences always teaches something, perhaps even more so than those positive. The important thing is to admit that you are wrong and go ahead in your passion and believe in yourself.

Another thing which is very important, but you remain yourself and understand what are your limits is that you cannot be perfect on all, but once you’ve found defects you should try to improve, both aesthetically that mentally.

Sexy is something you can become, but to be really sexy, you must treat before the aesthetics otherwise, a woman wearing only heads of intimacy, you can not define sexy. I mean that wear heads of intimate and have a physical inadequate, face struccato and hair in disorder is not sexy … in fact it’s quite unpleasant agl’occhi of the viewer … okay the “woman curvy”, but must wear clothes adequate to their physical, every day girls which are curvy publish photos on Instagram, in my opinion is indecent, because if you have fat and cellulite you may not post photos in costume or with undergarments … is vulgar … and especially not be nice to see … because in this way we only show defects …

I’m Caterina, a fashion and beauty influencer living in the United Kingdom, Portsmouth but I’m originally from Avellino, Italy! I’m extroverted, curious, easy-going and passionate in whatever I do! I first began my Instagram experience in 2012 and it’s now 6 years and I keep sharing my passions with my audience! I use social networks as a place to spread positivity and the message that anything is possible if you want it to be!

What is your fashion style like?

It is always difficult to give a label to my personal style but if I would have to find three words, I would use feminine, casual and chic. Not that colorfully – but I love playing with colors! Also love to share contents about the latest fashion trends and create different fashion looks! There are different fashion styles which I keep changing according to the latest trends or just according to my mood at the moment!

Do you have a beauty regime you follow strictly?

I have a beauty regime but I don’t necessarily follow it strictly! One of the most important things while following a daily beauty regime is that we should take care of our entire body and not just our face. My skin care routine consists of cleansing, toning and moisturizing along with weekly exfoliation!

Which accessories are a must have in your wardrobe?

A nice bag to complete every outfit.

A good watch ( I guess it actually helps make any look seem more elevated and seamless!).

Scarves to add some colours or patterns to every look.

And sunglasses. I believe that different sunglasses will give you different looks!

Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now?

It was one of my first job interviews in the UK and I remember my interviewer asked for my documents. I was rifling though my handbag and ..taah daah, out drops a tampon, starting to roll away. Ahhaha it’s been so embarrassing and I couldn’t even pretend it wasn’t mine! Argh!

If you had the opportunity to learn anything in this world, what will it be?

How to meditate! I’m always on the move and it’s important to teach myself how to make a pause!

Would you rather go bungee jumping or sky diving?

I rather go bungee jumping! It’s something I will do 100%.

What turns you off on a date?

A huge turn off for me is men talking about himself too much or being set about his body, muscles and gym.

Hi Lucy it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy. Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hi guys! For the past 2 months I’ve been building an Instagram page dedicated to three major themes: Fashion, Makeup, Beauty. Although I’m fairly new to this, the publicity and attention I’m getting are unexpectedly a lot. Instagram is a great platform to start beauty blogging. I’m from New York and honestly, I haven’t gotten to know this city much until I started this page. New York is top-notch for photography and modeling around.

What perks do you love about modeling?

Opportunities. I’ve received many offers from companies with paid photoshoots and product promotion so not only am I enjoying the hobby I’ve picked up, I can also build a career off of it. I also love dressing up and finding new fashion or makeup trends to indulge in.

What do you usually do during your free time?

Besides taking selfies or surfing the web for beauty updates? Not much. Just kidding, I also enjoy a variety of other things besides beauty such as reading the news, cooking, online gaming, etc. I think it’s important to have a good balance of doing various activities other than focus on one thing in life.

How much of a party animal are you?

Haha, I’m a natural party animal. I love going out once in a while to enjoy the New York nightlife. It’s important to loosen up every now and then to break away from work and for me, partying is one way to do that.

Which is your proudest achievement so far?

My proudest achievement would have to be when I turned being laid off from a 5 year job to starting a photography blog and finding an even better job than I had before. Although I work hard on my Instagram page, I also spend much of my time working for my current full-time job to build an additional stable career path for myself. People are multi-talented by nature and one should always utilize their potential to the max.

Are you more of a bikini or lingerie babe?

I actually don’t do both since I’m more of a “casual-clothing” model hah. But if I had to choose, I’d be a bikini model. I enjoy outdoor scenery for my pictures and my favorite season is the summer.

If you could describe yourself as a flavor, what will it be?

Sweet. I’d like to describe myself as happy, optimistic, loving, friendly—everything that describes a sweet person. Oh, and I love desserts…which are sweet.

What is the lamest attempt a guy has tried to hit on you?

One time, a guy and I were flirting and he was talking about how the touch of his magic hands can make boobs bigger and I told him no wayyyyyyy. Well he’s my current boyfriend now. Lame.

I love sexy. Sexy is always fun to be and sexy is in anyone who wants to believe it. Sexy is when you dress how you want despite societal judgment. How did your interest in makeup and beauty begin?

I always love anything that’s related to beauty since I was young. I took makeup courses as a hobby and slowly made it as my full time job now and I love it !

I always love to look different but my favourite style would be gothic!

What beauty products do you recommend for Asian skin?

There are many choices out there but I’m currently using Bioderma and it’s suitable for all skin types!

Which is the best compliment you have received?

When my clients are happy with the makeup look I did for them?

If you could learn any skill in this world, what will it be?

An impossible or possible skill? If it’s an impossible skill, I would love to fly so I could travel the world or even to heaven. Haha.

What do you find most attractive about the opposite sex?

Tall.. Must be tall even though I’m small.

What is an ideal first date to you?

Aww.. Well.. I personally love surprises.. So if the guy bothers to put effort into planning a sweet surprise, I’m happy enough! Hehe

Hello readers! OMG it’s my greatest honor to be featured by SimplySxy! Well, my name is Chelsea Ng and I’m from Malaysia! I was born and raised in a beautiful town, Kuantan where the Lynas are located at (and I’m thankful that I’m still alive, damn). Just completed my two year degree in Victoria University months ago and that’s the world welcoming me to the adult life!! Hahahahaa.

How will you describe your fashion style?

Honest speaking I don’t really have a specific style for myself though. It pretty much depends on my “mood of the day”. But one fact about my style is white. I am a forever #whiteaddiction, I don’t know why, it’s just like the world has only offered me one colour which is sadly white that I can’t even look into any other colour that fits me better than this loll.

Where do you usually shop and what are your preferred brands?

Oh well, this is the toughest question out of all LOL. Hmm.. I’m such an indecisive person. I don’t have a favorite brand. Actually I probably do, I love Forever21. I can’t really pick favorites because I’m just so indecisive.

Which is the most expensive item you have ever splurged on?

(*evil laugh*) I would say… lipsticks! I cry a little looking at the amount of money I have spent on lipsticks in the past couple of weeks.

What is your beauty regime like to looking so gorgeous?

I’m just gonna say, I’d never own myself any beauty product or skincare to sustain a flawless skin, yes not even a sunblock LOL. I often get scolded by my beautician but I’m just lazy to put on so many shit on my face. (I know I’m terrible). My basic essential is just, cleanser and toner, that is all.

How much of a foodie are you?

I don’t know if this question is asking about how much I can eat or how much knowledge I have about food. Well let me answer both. I enjoy food a lot, I love good food (I mean who doesn’t love foods???) but wait, one thing you gotta know about me is I LOVE BELGIUM WAFFLES super a lottttt, I gotta specifically state that because I honestly do love waffles a lot and even considered myself a waffle freak!

I hunt for good waffles very often. Do question me if you wanna know some great café for waffles! … (Yummm) Anyways, there’s still a long way to go before I can start calling myself a foodie because honestly I need to brush up a lot on my food knowledge.

What hobbies do you have?

DEFINITELY TRAVEL!

If you had the chance to travel to anywhere in the world, where will it be and why?

If I can travel to any country, I would easily go to America. I love America so much, there are still so many different places that I wanna see. I wanna go Florida, I wanna go DC and I wanna go back to Las Vegas so badddd. It was literally the most beautiful places that I have ever visited in my lifetime and yes, please take me back to Vegassss. Anyway, I have never been to Japan, it is also one of my very top wish list. It would be my next long vacay for sure.

Hi Aldora thank you for taking the time to answer our questions on SimplySxy. Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hola! I am Aldora and I’m from the sunny island – Singapore. I am a freelance Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle blogger and an avid instagramer for @Aldora_Muses.

Aldora means “Noble” in English and “Winged Gift” in Greek. I believe that I exist for the noble purpose to be a winged gift in everybody’s life – shedding light to the doubtful and showering joy to those who are down. Oh by the way, I am also nicknamed “Rabbit” as that is my zodiac sign.

When did you start blogging and made you do it?

I started my blog “Musings of a Rabbit” (now rebranded as “Aldora Muses” for a more personal touch) about 3 years ago when I was still dating my fiancé (now husband).

We were always exploring new dining places during our dates and I thought it would be interesting if I were to share my experiences with others via my blog. I established my presence in the blogging industry as a Food Blogger but am shifting my focus to Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle over the years.

In addition to that, I am fond of taking photos and my blog is the perfect platform for me to showcase my photos.

Is there a particular fashion or style trend in Singapore?

I would say that a comfy tee paired with shorts/jeans and flip-flops would be our favorite casual weekend style. Singaporeans tend to be easygoing when it comes to dressing in view of the humid weather here.

Name one instance of a fashion catastrophe you have witnessed?

I prefer not to highlight anything too negative here but my pet peeve will be sighting butt cracks with low-waisted jeans that are too loose. If I must list an instance.

What other hobbies do you have?

I enjoy online shopping, shooting OOTDs, café hopping, singing and watching the television whenever I am free.

If you could have one chance to learn something about the future, what will it be?

I would love to learn more about the upcoming opportunities available for grabs so that I will be prepared to seize hold of every opportunity that comes my way immediately. Think of it as investing on something that is guaranteed to make you handsome profits – how exciting!

What is an ideal first date to you?

My ideal first date would be a romantic candlelit dinner at an exquisite restaurant followed by an awesome musical. Sounds posh but in reality, my first date was nowhere like that *HAHA*

What do you find most attractive about the opposite sex?

I find witty and charismatic guys most attractive. Having that said, I wouldn’t resist humorous ones though.

It’s a pleasure to feature you Aldora. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Thanks for granting me the feature. To me, “sexy” means being comfortable under your own skin and having the sense of empowerment to influence others. It can be difficult at times because we tend to be self-conscious but I think it is important that we must accept ourselves first in order to feel sexy and convince others that we ARE indeed sexy.

Hong Kong Makeup Artist Kary Wong

Hi Kary thank you for taking the time to answer our questions on SimplySxy. Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

I am born and raised in Hong Kong. I’m passionate about every beautiful thing. Now I mainly focus my career in bridal make-up and I love it! At my free time, I also enjoy sharing beauty tips on beauty platforms.

How did your interest in beauty and career in makeup begin?

As a young girl, I have always been interested in fashion and colors. As I grew older, I realised that make-up is my strength and it is the greatest accomplishment when my bride is looking stunning and make everyone goes “wow” on her big day!

Which makeup products do you recommend that every lady owns?

I believe setting a good base and foundation is the basic and most important part of your make-up. No matter if you prefer a matte or dewy look, choosing the right foundation for yourself is essential. I recommend Giorgio Armani.

Do you have any hobbies?

My hobby is to learn and study the new trends in make-up and beauty. The internet is my best friend nowadays, I enjoy watching make-up and hair tutorial videos and try to add my personal twist to it to my clients.

How much of a foodie are you and what are your favourites?

I enjoy digging new and authentic local cuisine. There are so many delicious local delicacies in HK and whenever I have a day off I will go on a little food adventure with my friends to try out all of them!

If you could have a super power, what will it be?

I wish I had a magic make-up brush, and every beautiful bride that I do make-up with will be happily ever after.

What do you find most attractive about the opposite sex?

I think a guy with good manners is very attractive. A guy who knows how to respect women and everyone around.

How will you describe an ideal first date?

Take me to a nice restaurant with great food!
