Engineer & Model Angela Zhang

I am originally born and raised in Tucson Arizona (a desert baby!), but moved to Beijing, China when I was 13. I lived in China for 6 years before attending University in Southern California. I am a full time engineer now but in my free time I love modeling and creating art with other talented photographers.

Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?

Growing up, watching America’s Next Top Model definitely inspired me. I love how one girl can pull off multiple looks catering to different audiences. I never really thought of doing it myself much because I was so focused on my engineering path, but after moving to LA for college, the community and culture shaped my fashion sense today. From shopping on Melrose Ave to following fashion icons like Aimee Song, I eventually discovered my own multifaceted looks.

Which is a memorable photoshoot experience you have had before?

I didn’t start working with photographers till the end of my college career back in 2019, but since then, I have had the pleasure to work with multiple talented photographers in multiple cities. Just to name a few, I did a Mulan Cosplay shoot in Oregon with Samuel, a group portrait shoot in an Urban Jungle studio, and a shoot in Beijing’s famous DaShiLan Night Market.

But my most memorable shoot would have to be at Joshua Tree. This was one of my first shoots back in Jan 2019, and it was for a makeup artist’s portfolio. Her makeup was inspired by my face, and it was my first time seeing myself pull off such an editorial look. We shot multiple makeup looks in one night, and more the next day. I’ve never had more fun. This experience piqued my curiosity to further explore my passion for modeling and photography.

Do you have any other hobbies and interests?

Since moving to Arizona, I’ve been learning golf weekly and have found it to be both calming and stimulating. I also like to make and edit videos in my free time (travel, makeup, etc.). My most recent work was a music video for a friend’s new EDM mashup. In addition, I like to paint, climb, and trade.

Is there any cuisine you particularly like or can’t live without?

GOOD FOOD, doesn’t matter what cuisine. After a night out, post 2am, I could be craving pizza or kimchee jigae soup . I have phases of what I crave, but general rule of thumb is as long as it’s good. I grew up eating Chinese food at home, so if I had to choose a cuisine I can’t live without, it would probably be Chinese – no matter where I am in the world, it will remind me of home.

Which city or country is on your bucket list to visit in the near future?

People who know me know that I love to travel, I have travelled to 28 countries so far and have a long list of destinations I want to visit in the near future. But the next place on my bucket list would probably be Canada (starting close first.). I can’t believe living in the US for this long, that I still haven’t visited Canada. I look forward to experiencing the food, nature, and people!

If you can have a super power, what will it be?

Teleportation, definitely teleportation. Besides being able to travel to more places around the world, imagine all the time it would save! We waste way too much time in transit every day if I could teleport from point A to B, I would be able to do so many more things!

American Cosplayer & Artist Stitched Spade

Hello! I’m a 22 year old cosplayer from the USA. I love rainy days, yoga, and binge watching anime.

How long have you been cosplaying and why do you love it?

I’ve been cosplaying since I was a freshman in high school so it’s been about eight years. I’ve only recently started cosplaying more seriously though. It’s been about two years since I’ve made it my main hobby. I love cosplaying because you get to transform into whoever you want! I love who I already am, but pretending to be characters you admire is really cool to me.

Which characters have you enjoyed cosplaying most so far?

One of my all time favorite characters to cosplay is the Klaxosaur Princess from Darling in the Franxx. Her character design is gorgeous and I just feel so BA when I have that costume on because of the fake nails and the giant horned crown. Another one of my all time favorites is Ryuko Matoi from Kill la Kill! Ryuko is just such a powerful female character that has her flaws but still keeps going with a goal in mind despite everything trying to bring her down. She is a bit rough around the edges, but still down to earth. And also, my cosplay of her seems to be what got me noticed and Ryuko will always have a special place in my heart because of that.

Is cosplaying a lot harder than it looks?

That depends on who you’re cosplaying and how close to the source material you wanna be! Cosplaying actual people is very hard because there’s not much room for leniency when trying to mimic their design. But when being an anime character, you can use a certain artistic interpretation when creating your look.

What is a typical day like for you?

Well, on a free day, I’ll wake up and catch up on whatever ongoing anime I’m watching at the time. Then I’ll typically do a makeup test for whichever character I’m working on cosplaying at the time. If the costume is ready, then I’ll take some pics in cosplay for my Patreon and other social media. After that I’ll either play some video games or draw something before dinner. That’s a typical chill day for me!

On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?

Honestly, probably about a 4. I’m very introverted and the most adventurous thing I’ve done is explore the basement of an old Victorian hotel. It was pretty spooky down there! I had this eerie feeling my friend and I weren’t alone too.

If you could learn anything in this world, what will it be?

Probably Japanese cause I wanna be able to watch anime without subtitles lol.

What is a funny or awkward attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Oh jeez, I wish I could just post all the screenshots I’ve gotten haha. But there was one time I was at a convention at some hotel and I went into an elevator to go back up to my room for the night and some guy jumped into the elevator after me. I had seen him a few times around the Con but didn’t know him very well. He ended up getting off at my floor and following me as I walked to my room so I stopped and asked him what room number he was in.

He just said he wanted to walk me back and when I said, “No thank you” he was understanding at least. But before he left he said, “I’m going to be a little flirty.” He kissed his finger and booped my nose with it and just walked away. I was just relieved he was leaving but also in shock from what just happened LMAO. That is probably the most awkward IRL flirting thing that has happened to me.

Hmmm I guess I define sexy as having a confident mindset and looking alluring. Confidence is definitely sexy to me! As long as it’s not pretentious haha.

Hey everyone! My name is Lois, I hail from Jersey and I have been modeling for about 2 ½ years now. I’m a Leo, I love the beach, being an artist and I’m a very organized person.

What do you enjoy about being a model?

I enjoy the artistic expression element. Whether it be through posing, facial expressions or what have you, I love being able to express my passion through art, specifically modeling.

Is there anything you wish the modeling industry can be better in?

Diversity and inclusiveness. I’m happy that big strides have been made over the last 20 years but we still have a long way to go. My biggest issue is that there are no short models. I’m 5’2 and know how to make myself look 5’10.

Which is a memorable or unforgettable photoshoot you have been in before?

One random day in the winter, it had been in the teens all month and this reservoir in my area had completely frozen over. I was able to walk out nearly 50 feet before I got nervous haha. The photographer and I that day captured some of my favorite and most memorable shots. It was worth having freezing toes. On that specific day, the temperature jumped up to 50 degrees, so we took advantage of the random warmer day to shoot outdoors.

What hobbies or interests are you into?

Movies and TV are my next passion in life. If I wasn’t modeling, I’d either be voice acting or become a movie critic. I love running, I did track and cross country for six years competitively and I’ve been an athlete my whole life. I love the beach, waves and being in the water.

Traveling is another favorite along with trying new foods in each respective area I’ve traveled too.

Which is the sexiest thing in your wardrobe?

Tough question, I own a lot of sexy lingerie and apparel with being a model. Probably my sheer robes, I love the details and how sexy it can be while still being covered.

Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?

Who hasn’t! I can’t tell you how many times I read things too quickly and not realize I completely misinterpreted what I just read. I’m a fast paced person so that can be my downfall from time to time.

What turns you off on a date?

Arrogance and ignorance. We’re grown ups, act like one.

I define sexy as a matter of perspective. What I find sexy, many others do not. But for me personally, sexy is someone who has the confidence to be who they are unapologetically while still maintaining a sense of humility and empathy in life.

What inspired you to get into cosplay?

I always loved a reason to dress up; cosplaying was a fun and artistic way to become characters I loved.

What is the most challenging character you have ever cosplayed before?

I would definitely have to say Katarina from LOL. Even though it seems simple, I was wearing two swords on my back, one in the belt, tons of knives on my thighs, and pvc arm and leg guards. It was very hard to walk, not to mention the six inch platforms!

Which is a memorable cosplaying experience you had that you can share with us?

Someone once told me that I had inspired them to get into cosplay. They told me that they could see the joy I had in it and wanted to experience it too. They still cosplay today!

What is a typical day like for yourself?

I spend a lot of my time imagining what I want to eat. Then I spend a lot of my time eating. Then I think about the food I ate. The rest of my time I’m editing photos.

If you could time travel, where will you go?

Probably an hour ahead of whatever time it is now. Maybe that would actually make me on time for something.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?

Probably an 8. Take -2 out for laziness.

What is a lame or awkward attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Someone told me that they saw me walking around for a while, but were too afraid to say hi. You can just say hi to me instead of telling me you watched me.

My name is Olga. I am from Ukraine. I am an abstract artist; I make paintings for interior design. I’ve lived in Dubai for two years, and am now living in Bali.

I like traveling and get my inspiration from all around the world. I like art, fashion, beauty, creativity, meeting new people and share experience.

How will you describe your fashion style?

I like the smart casual and sophisticated style. I like to look elegant and striking and presentable without being overly stuffy. It can be a silk dress with the leather jacket and peep toe, or a white blouse with a-line skirt and gladiator boots. My favorite colors usually are black and white, and I like to add gold or silver accessories. And I am a fan of high heels and glasses, I think every woman should have them a lot.

Do you follow a strict beauty regime regularly?

Every morning I wash my face, use the toner, serum and moisturizer with SPF.

In the evening I remove my makeup, use micellar water, nighttime moisturizer and eye cream. I do facial masks 2-3 times per week. And every month I go to a beauty salon to see my cosmetologist.

Which is the best compliment you have received?

Best compliment was about my eyes – they are unique, big and green. And that it’s only 2% in the world people who have a green eyes.

Is there any food or drink you don’t take?

I don’t like fast-food, and everything fried. Also no sugar. I prefer to have a healthy lifestyle. My favorite is the avocado salad with quinoa and prawns, and salmon or tuna ceviche.

What hobbies and interests do you have?

I like playing tennis or going to the gym when I have the time.

Also, I like traveling, reading, cooking, shopping, exploring art galleries and nice rooftops. Enjoying the beauty of every day.

If you can drop everything and go on the road trip, where will be your destination?

I would like to have a trip and explore all of Spain, France and Italy. I like architecture, exploring new cities, culture, food, art, going to restaurants with a nice view, enjoying fresh seafood and a glass of wine.

What is the funniest or awkward attempt a guy has tried to know you?

I was with my boyfriend and friends in a restaurant. In one moment, I felt like somebody was staring at me. After some time, when I went to the lady’s room, one guy was waiting to ask my number. It was awkward and a little bit funny.

Hello, the pleasure is all mine! My name is Anna, but on social media everyone knows me as Annie Lolla! I am an artistic soul and I enjoy doing things that make my soul happy.

I sing, draw, do makeup (sometimes even professionally), and work in the video industry. I am obsessed with fashion and everything related to beauty. I was born in Serbia, but I have spent some years growing up in Greece. I speak seven languages, and currently learning the eighth, and it seems I can’t stop!

Cooking has become one of my obsessions in the past few years, and I love to make new recipes for friends or family. If you’d guys like I’ll bake you some cookies

I have a cat, he is very cuddly and cute. I enjoy reading books and watching horror movies.

What is your fashion style like?

My fashion style is actually very diverse; most of the time I enjoy wearing casual clothes, street style kind. Vans, jeans, a plain T-shirt and some cool bomber jacket. But there are days where I have the need to be absolutely girlie and cute and then I pull out my more “stylish” outfits. I rarely wear heels because I am too tall in them, but I must admit I own like 12 pairs of heel shoes/sandals (I am a girl after all, I can’t help it haha).

I do not necessarily like to follow trends, for me it’s more what I enjoy wearing and styling and what I find interesting for my own stylish expression.

The only thing I would never wear is real fur.

Which makeup accessories should every lady own?

Ladies, pay attention and memorize this important fact:

Less is more!

I hate when my makeup looks cakey, so I always tend to apply my makeup as light as possible, even if it’s for special occasions.

And as it comes to makeup accessories every lady should own, I would have to say eyebrow pencil, highlighter (I love a good highlight on the cheekbones), concealer, bronzer or blush and some good mascara. That is all a woman needs to accentuate her own beauty.

As a makeup artist I advise women and especially young girls not to use too much makeup, and to pay attention to their skin first. Always use SPF to protect your skin from aging prematurely.

Do you have any other hobbies?

I do! I keep adding more and more hobbies to my life because I believe they stimulate the brain. I sing, edit videos, exercise, learn languages and recently I have been wanting to try doing pottery. I think it will be fun, I can’t wait!

Is there a drink you can’t live without?

Just plain ol’ water. I drink tons of it everyday to hydrate my body. I also love authentic Japanese matcha tea.

If you could learn anything in this world, what will it be?

I would want to learn to be more forgiving with myself and let myself make mistakes, because it is the best way to learn things in life. Learn that if something fails it’s not the end of the world, and I should just keep going and fight for what I believe. I need to learn to rely only on myself and to trust only me.

What flavor best describes you?

Matcha green tea or pistachios.

What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

I will not mention any lame attempts because they occur too often and are just cringy. But the funniest was probably when one guy tried to teach me some martial arts skills just so he could kiss me.

What is a typical day like for you?

I wake up like at 9am, after making me beautiful, I go to take a fresh juice in the same place every morning and have breakfast. My favourite part of the day are mornings, and I like to enjoy it by walking, after painting before evenings, and listening to good music. Then have some meetings, dinner and sleep..not later than 12.

Is there a food or drink you can’t live without?

I don’t think so..I adapt easy to everything.

Mmm, I was in porn 4 years ago and it was a lot of embarrassing situations but I won all of them.

If you had the opportunity to learn anything in this world, what will it be?

I will learn who really I am, and discover how to use all the potential of this.

I’m not a fan of clothes, I find much more sexiness in a naked body, but in this days we are slaves of clothes and if you take out them, you are already an exhibitionist crazy person or bitch or any of those social definitions.

Respect for others, even ill-wishers. Independence. Inner strength. Wisdom

Hi Tiffany it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy. Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hey everyone! I am a 23 year old model and artist in Tampa, Florida. I was born in California. I have been modeling for about 3 years now and am always striving to learn more and get better.

What inspired you to be a model?

A friend of mine asked me to do a photoshoot with her. As soon as I was in front of the camera I was hooked. It’s funny too because my family used to tell me I should model when I was younger, and never did till later on.

Which is your favorite genre of modeling?

I love fashion modeling. I like to model work from different designers, whether it be bathing suits or dresses or accessories. I also enjoy being outdoors.

What are some of the challenges you face during a photoshoot?

1. Afternoon sun. My eyes are light blue and it’s challenging not to squint my eyes.

2. As much as I love to be outside, I am not a bug person. So when I’m posing and a critter comes out, I’m not really happy to see them.

Have you experienced a funny or embarrassing moment before during one?

I was on a pier with a photographer posing, when a huge wave just soaked me in water…It was kinda cold out that day too.

If you can travel anywhere in this world, where will you go?

There are a few places. Australia, Amsterdam, and Bahamas.

What do you find attractive in the opposite sex?

I like long hair on men, always have. My boyfriend has long hair and it is what initially attracted me to him.

Lamest or weirdest attempt a guy has hit on you?

It’s a little weird, but funny.

One message I got was him proposing that we getaway together and act like Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp in Blow. It was a little more descriptive than that but I laughed really hard at that one.
