    Malaysian Model & Blogger, Yana

Hi Yana it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

I am a writer, blogger, designer, model and a dancer. I love to multitask basically, despite the fact that I get overwhelmed constantly. Hahaha I am a KL person through and through.

How will you describe your fashion style?

Very Kpop-ish. I basically got my ‘ fashion look’ when I was 18 because that was the time that I got to know of Hyuna and other Kpop idols. Before that I was just very ‘unripe’.

Which is the best compliment you have received?

“Your eyes could kill my soul over and over again, and I will still stare at it”

    Do you have any hobbies?

Would you believe me if I said all my professions are my hobby? Writing and dancing are my top favourite hobbies.

Which is the funniest thing you have witnessed or happened to you?

Trying to throw a joke at my sister. She wouldn’t even have to reply anything but I will be out of breath and in tears when I am trying to tell her the joke.

If you could change one thing about the world, what will it be?

Negative jealousy. There are way too many people who get easily jealous and they tend to try and sabotage others. It would be better if they were positively jealous so that it becomes their fuel to achieve their own dreams.

Where is your dream holiday destination?

    Japan.

What is your worst date experience ever?

There is none…hahaha I am probably lucky in this department.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Yana. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

When a person exudes an aura that is irresistible and gets onlookers to turn their heads. Regardless of whatever he/she is wearing.

    Cosplayer Meepy Sheepy From Florida

Hi Meepy it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hi there! I’m a Floridian cosplayer who started in 2010. I’m a Ravenclaw, and an all around creative person.  I also have 5 cats!

Photo: Papanotzzi , Character: Android 18

How did you get started into cosplaying?

Back when I was in middle school, a couple of my friends showed me what manga was and I became obsessed. I then quickly became the library nerd who was there all the time. Soon after, they mentioned a convention called Megacon and told me to go. While I was there I saw so many characters I recognized and I thought it was the coolest thing. I knew immediately it was something I wanted to do.

What is your most memorable cosplay experience so far?

Seeing Matthew Wood (voice of General Grievous) while I was cosplaying his character was definitely very memorable for me. He’s my favorite Star Wars character and this was a costume I really wanted to bring to life. Matthew even signed my helmet and gave me a sticker of authentication on it!

    Photo: Papanotzzi, Character: Valor

Which character are you looking forward to cosplaying next?

I really look forward to making my Sugar Plum Sylvanas. Sylvanas from W0W is a character I’ve always loved and I’m making this skin so I can have an awesome character for an awesome convention called Holiday Matsuri.

How much of a party animal are you?

I’m not really a party person to be honest. I’m the type to sit back and people watch. I’ve recently wanted to go to more parties though, so I can hang out with people I don’t really get to see during the day. I only really go to parties at conventions.

    Photo: Papanotzzi, Character: Twitch

If you could travel to anywhere in the world for a vacation, where will it be?

I’ve never really cared too much for wanting to travel, but if I had to choose I guess I would say Germany. I’ve always been very proud of my German side.

Which was the last movie you watched and was it any good?

The last movie I watched was 47 Meters Down. It was okay, but I think the movie needed to add a little more story.

Photo: Callus Heart Photography, Character: Red Arkana

What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Once when I was at a Pokemon TCG tournament, a guy came up to me in-between matches and told me I had nice kneecaps and tried to have a conversation with me. I thought he was just trying to mess with me, but I later found out he was serious.

    Photo: Papanotzzi, Character: Virgin Killer

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Meepy. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

I think sexy is like another way of saying hot or attractive. I don’t really think an amount of clothing determines sexiness, but more so the vibe of the person/object.

  • DJ Cindy From Indonesia

    DJ Cindy From Indonesia

How did the inspiration to be a DJ start?

The most influential inspiration came from my father. He used to work in the music industry for 20 years. Thus, I was exposed to music a lot. Watching singers, composers and producers work made me realize that I wanted to pursue this industry. In early 2015 I found my passion as a DJ, followed by the growth of electronic dance music, I decided learn more and finally here I am!

What is your proudest achievement so far?

One of my proudest achievement will definitely be being recognize internationally. Last month I played in Altimate Singapore. Secondly, being contacted by you guys for an interview is certainly up there!

Which is the best compliment you have received?

Best compliment I ever received so far comes from my Manager, BILLY, who is also a DJ and my mentor, who told me that my performance so far is making him very proud and I am ready for something bigger.

Is there a misconception about DJs that you commonly hear?

OF COURSE! Especially us female DJs. And being in an old fashion country like Indonesia doesn’t help. Most people think we female DJs only sell our looks and not our skills. However as time goes on, I am used to the criticism and just trying my best to prove other people wrong.

If you could be a cartoon character, who will you be?

If I can be a cartoon character, I will choose to be Tinkerbell 😉

How do you spend your free time?

I spend my free time with A DATE WITH NETFLIX AND PIZZA!

What is the lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Lamest guy’s attempt? To be honest I can’t even remember when was the last time a guy tried to flirt with me LOL. But there was this one time, a guy asked me the title of the song that was playing. It was Closer from The Chainsmokers. Everybody knows that song, right? I was just smiling and tell him that he can use Shazam ;p

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Cindy. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is when you can truly embrace yourself with all the goods and the bads.  Nothing is sexier than loving yourself!

  • Malaysian TV Host Azura Zainal

    Malaysian TV Host Azura Zainal

Hi Azura it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hi!! First of all thank you so much for having me! I truly appreciate the feature.

Well, my name is Azura Zainal and I am from Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. I come from a very big and tight knit family. There are 7 of us and I am the middle child. Majority of my siblings are engineers and a pilot. It’s just my eldest sister and I decided to take on a more adventurous route! Hehehe. I have been in the entertainment industry for 18 years where I started my career as a TV presenter for Walt Disney Television Pte Ltd way back in 1999 for a flagship show on the channel called Disney Buzz.

It was the best 7 years of my working life, working for the mouse where I learnt so much about TV presenting and production. Working with all types of nationality from different countries really opened my eyes on how important it is to have an open mind if you really want to learn. After being with the channel for 7 years, I came back to Malaysia and started doing TV programs for local productions. I hosted all kinds/genre of shows like kids, reality, game-show, lifestyle, sports and adventure and then eventually branded myself as a Sports/Travel and Adventure TV Host. Currently I have a show called X-plorasi on TV1 which airs every Saturday at 2pm (travel/adventure) and soon to air a Scuba Diving program in its 3rd season called 13 Hari Kota Kinabalu-Labuan. (you can find it on YouTube 😛 for earlier seasons).

Besides TV Hosting, I also do a lot of emcee gigs which is also something I love doing and I also had the opportunity to try my hands on radio where I started on HITZ.FM in 2007 and later 2012 was radio announcing for RED FM.   I also have acted in a few dramas and just recently was in a feature film called Temuan Takdir, which won a number of awards internationally.  You must be thinking…GOSH! What else does she do?? Well, I was also one of the main actress (Lorell Robinson) on a stage show for BROADWAY: DREAMGIRLS the Musical which was staged at Istana Budaya in 2012. So…yeah, I love to entertain and challenge myself in every way possible.

What is your proudest achievement so far?

My proudest achievement would have to be being chosen out of thousands of hopeful candidates to be the TV Presenter for Walt Disney TV Pte Ltd, and also being nominated for Best Light Entertainment Presenter/Performer in 2002 and 2004 in the Asian Television Awards!

How do you constantly motivate and inspire yourself?

In everything that I do, I am always out to seek knowledge. So, whenever I am assigned to work on something, I will make sure I do my best to convey messages and useful information and also putting smiles on peoples’ faces. So it is not a one-way communication but knowing that the audience is able to take something home with them. THAT, motivates and inspires me.

If you can have a superpower, which will you choose to have?

If I can have a superpower it would have to be the power to fly, so I can fly to any destination and spread knowledge to the children all over the world.

Do you have any guilty pleasures when it comes to food?

Oooo… but of course!! I LOVE ICE CREAM!! I can eat ice cream anytime, anywhere, any day! I can finish a whole tub in 45 minutes!

How will you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is pretty laid back and sporty on a daily basis. I am always in my Nike gears and trainers because I am also known as an active person who likes to work out and do adventurous activities. But there are times when I do love to play dress up and dress my age! (Hehehehe if you are wondering, I am 36 years young) I like to call myself a chameleon when it comes to fashion style. I have made people do a double take when they see me all dressed up.

Which was the last movie you watched and was it any good?

Oh wow! If I am not mistaken it was Dark Tower. It wasn’t the best movie I saw…quite a let down for me. But Idris Alba is HAWT!

What is your idea of an ideal first date?

My ideal first date would be a dinner, nothing too fancy, followed by hours in the arcade and then taking a drive to unfamiliar places.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Azura. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Hmmm how do I define sexy…well, someone who is knowledgeable and willing to share the knowledge with others, and always have a positive outlook in life.

Thank you so much for having me! It has been awesome!

  • Photographer, Visual Artist & Model Elena Ohlander From Florida

Photographer, Visual Artist & Model Elena Ohlander From Florida

Hi Elena thank you for taking the time to answer our questions on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

My name is Elena Ohlander and I am a visual artist and freelance hair/beauty model. I grew up and reside in Jacksonville, Florida. No matter where I have travelled to in the world, Jacksonville feels like home. I call it the biggest small town in Florida because it has a nice balance of city/suburban lifestyle with access to beaches and springs. I spend most of my time making art, going to gallery exhibitions and spending time with my daughter. I am also a big foodie and huge supporter of local businesses. My favorite food, hands down, is Ramen.

When did your interest in photography begin?

My interest in photography began back in 2008 when I took a trip to Japan for five weeks. I bought a DSLR camera so I could really document my trip with higher quality and in the process of doing so, realized I enjoyed candid, photojournalistic or documentary style of photography. It wasn’t enough to just learn on the fly, I wanted to be academically rooted in my work and got my BFA in photography. Although I have been an artist all my life, working in the medium of watercolor, oil, and mixed-media. I have returned to my roots since graduating in 2014 and find myself somewhat of an emerging artist. You can view my portfolio of current work on my website: www.elenaohlander.com or my personal Instagram @elena_honey.

Which is your most memorable photoshoot experience so far?

Within the photographic medium I work in conceptual self-portraiture, which is an interesting experience in and of itself. Often I work in solitude, just me, my camera and tripod with a remote shutter release. However, some of my photographer friends will assist me when I work within a wider frame in natural environments.

My most memorable experience, up until now is when I took a trip to Norway to connect with family I had never met and work on an explorative series about identity. Much to my surprise, I found out that one of my mothers’ cousins had been a professional photographer all of his life and even opened The Norwegian School of Photography (or Norsk Fotofagskole) in Trondheim. We really bonded as he assisted me in my series called, Lost in Translation and he taught me so much in his critiques and feedback on my work. I miss him dearly and hope to visit him again soon, or vice versa.

Being a photographer yourself, are you more critical when you get photos taken of yourself?

Being a photographer and photographing myself gained me some attention to my likeness. I was always more of a “behind-the-lens” kind of person so it has been an interesting and insightful journey to model. Modeling began as a way to help my friends test shoot prior to a client, whether that is lighting or a new technique. Eventually I started working professionally as a model for hairstylist competitions which turned into modeling for hair companies such as Toni & Guy, Paul Mitchell, Aveda, Matrix, and other smaller hair extension companies. I am definitely more critical of the end-result because of my knowledge in photography but have learned a lot about the dynamic in working with a creative team from multiple perspectives and I am more cognizant of my approach to modeling. You can view my modeling portfolio on Instagram @elenaohlander.

Is there something in life you can’t get enough of?

I cannot get enough time in my studio. When I am in my studio, it’s like all time has stopped and I spend hours there, totally zoned into my work. Another thing I cannot get enough of is time with my daughter. She is currently seven going on eight and I do my best to savor every single moment with her. Time really is an elusive thing.

If you can have a superpower, what will it be?

If I could have a super power, it would be to freeze time so I could get more work done. I think life is too short not to experience all that life has to offer.

Have you ever been in a funny or embarrassing situation before?

I cannot recall such an experience as it is difficult for me to feel embarrassed. I embrace any and all of my imperfections.

Have you had a bad date experience ever?

I have only been in long-term relationships and therefore have never really “dated” someone.

It is a pleasure to feature you Elena. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me beyond the photographs of me, I am both honored and delighted. To me, the most attractive quality in a person is their intellect. There is nothing more “sexy” than someone who has depth beyond their physical appearance.

  • Cosplayer & Model, Sai

    Cosplayer & Model, Sai

Hi Sai it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

It is a pleasure to be here, I will keep the introduction as compact as possible for your readers. Hello everyone! My name is Sai, in Japan and I am 23 years old. I am a Caucasian girl with DNA from Belgium and Holland and a whole lot of unknown mixes. I have been a model since I was six years old and I was discovered by the cosplay and anime companies in Tokyo that eventually hired me to work as a fulltime cosplayer and idol in Tokyo. I am registered as the first “white” girl (Or “European” girl as some media has decided to call me) to have become a full-time cosplayer in Japan. However, I honestly don’t like categorizing people because of their DNA . I am just a regular girl in Japan with Japanese nationality living her life, and working hard for my career.

    What inspired you to cosplay?

My mom has kind of pushed me in the modeling business since when I was 6 years old, even forcing me to travel all the way to France to follow a modeling school all alone for an entire season to get a French Modeling Degree (which is considered high value in Japan). And I have been growing from being a child model to a fashion model, But I disliked being a fashion model. It was not fun, you had to reduce yourself to zero. You had to practice puking your food out, having a zombie expressionless look on your face, and you had to do your best to be nothing so that the clothes would shine out.

It was very much a lot of work and it was very degrading. And it was never good enough. The only one proud of it, was my mom. I was lonely as well. Never had friends. People at school bullied me for being a “ghost”. Eventually something snapped in me and I stopped modelling. I was rebelling. I started to go against my parents, started to eat what I wanted and finally I started to get some friends and they took me to concerts, we also cosplayed while watching anime together and eventually they invited me to my first anime convention. We were going to meet at the convention. When we met, I was surprised that they all were cosplayed. I was in just a red Lolita dress.

We walked around at the con and I was introduced to a lot of other cosplayers, it was so fun. It seemed they all thought I was cosplaying Misa Amane from Death Note. So I played along and made tails in my hair. It was a quick solution for fitting in their pictures more, these new friends were talking about going to a big convention together and having a sleepover at someones’ house near the convention. I never had friends before and I really wanted the affection a lot, I never had so much fun in my life so when they asked me to join them I was so happy.

We had a sleepover and prepared for the convention when we noticed my cosplay was a mess! It was no good ! So a friend offered me one of her old cosplays to wear at the convention to match her outfit. Best solution ever! I was so happy to have a friend with matching outfits! It became an addiction to go with these cosplayers to conventions, get photos taken together, make nice memories and get a lot of affection of everyone. I started to grow a fanbase without realising it. Eventually I was discovered and asked to join up into a more serious cosplay career. I accepted, wanting to make my friends proud. I worked hard. My first inspiration was my friends, then it also became my fans. I am addicted to all the love and cheering on!

Which characters have you loved cosplaying most so far?

I loved cosplaying Chii of Chobits, it was the first character that was discovered by the talent hunters. They even thought I was a life size doll in the convention when I was sitting. People started to take photos with me not realizing I was a real human being. It was funny how people jumped when I moved so eventually I stopped moving so people lined up to take photos with the lifesize doll, was less awkward while resting my feet than to constantly correct people that I was actually a human being. I wonder how many people have photos of me thinking I was a doll that day!

What are some of the challenges you face when creating a costume?

I barely create costumes anymore because we have to rehearse our characters personalities, and the costumes are from the official anime companies. Every day we have a different character, sometimes even 2-3 characters a day that we have to do in Akihabara and cons! So it is impossible to do! Also we are not even allowed to use our own costumes, it has to be official costumes by the anime company itself.  But back in the day when I sometimes created my own costumes, the biggest issues were finding the right material, sometimes drawing things on pattern, cutting it out, sewing it, all going well, last minute finding out the size is wrong or something else went wrong. Always a horror if you then were on a deadline!

Have you experienced a funny or embarrassing cosplay moment before?

Haven’t we all? As I mentioned before, when I was resting my feet in a chair, people thought I was a doll and started lining up to take photos with me, it was too awkward to correct everyone the entire time , especially since the first ones I corrected had nearly a heart attack! A lot of these kind of things happened in my career !

I guess the weirdest / creepiest thing that happened was this guy cosplaying this creepy character Jason from Friday the 13th, he was following me all over the convention. With his creepy mask! I didn’t mind it, it happens often enough that people follow. But, when my shift was over and I was returning home, I took the train home and saw he was still following. I walked to a friends home. Even now, years later, my friend still tells me about the days a man with a mask staring through the living room windows at night.

The most embarrassing thing that happened, was that I was for cleanup duty and I decided to quickly buy some kitchen cleaning paper in the convenient store, I opened the package in the office saying I took the liberty to buy kitchen paper, while opening it we all realized at the same time I accidentally bought toilet paper. The logo of the brand was covering the package on just the right spot so it wasn’t noticed until opened. I was so embarrassed!

A colleague of mine had an even worse embarrassing moment, she had to do a character with large boobs for one of the cosplay assignments. She used pads and when she was jumping they started to escape , some fell on the floor and more started escaping and falling out when she bent to pick them up from the floor. I tried to help her by distracting the people by giving them an “accident” panty shot.

If you can travel anywhere in this world, where will you go?

Anywhere ? Like, without obligations or anything to worry about ? I think Ikea after closing time, there are so many soft beds and stuff!

What do you find attractive in the opposite sex?

    Loyalty, courage, knows etiquette, confidence.

Lamest or weirdest attempt a guy has hit on you?

A lot of guys in Japan that are of older age and older generation believe that a woman is still lesser than a man. Often, a 60 year old man walks up to a 20 year old woman and if they find out that the young woman is still single, they demand a date or even marriage. Even a “no” seems to be very hard for them to understand out of a woman’s mouth. So it is one of the lamest attempts I experience on a weekly based 1-3 times averagely.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Sai. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

“Sexually attractive or exciting”, brought to you by Oxford dictionaries.

  • New Jersey Style Blogger, Valerie LaBarbera

New Jersey Style Blogger, Valerie LaBarbera

Hi Valerie it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hello Everyone! I am a New Jersey native and have lived here for most of my life.  My life revolves around family, friends, fashion and makeup. People might view fashion and beauty as shallow but it has been my creative outlet and an opportunity to express myself. I have met many amazing people on this journey and they have taught me everything I know which I am ready to share with all of you!

Where did the inspiration to create beauty videos come from?

Growing up I was a competitive dancer, and as young girls, we had to learn how to do our own makeup before competitions. I was able to experiment and have fun with makeup looks. This passion stuck with me and I wanted to be able to share my knowledge of makeup and beauty with the world. I absolutely love having the opportunity to teach others, while still continually learning new makeup trends everyday.

What makeup and beauty accessories are a must have for every lady?

Every lady must have a great moisturizer for her face and body. If you want beautiful, flawless makeup then you need to take care of your skin and nourish it. I also cannot live without skincare masks. As much as I love makeup, I know how crucial the right skincare products are. Also, cannot live without my trusty Beauty Blender!

Which is your proudest achievement so far?

This is more of a personal and emotional achievement. I am proud of the major career change that I recently made. I have worked in corporate for many years while pursuing my passions as hobbies. About four months ago I finally decided to make a major career change to fashion. I am currently working as a personal stylist and going back to school for visual merchandising. This achievement has truly changed my life.

How will you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style has a mind of it’s own. I dress based on how I feel and I gather inspiration from all around me. My style always has a minimalistic touch to it, but the trends are ever changing.

Are there any misconceptions about beauty and makeup that you commonly hear?

I guess the only misconception I hear about beauty and makeup is more aligned with people judging it as a high-maintenance aspect of a person. Personally, beauty and makeup have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I began using makeup on a theatrical level and it grew to makeup artistry. I also needed makeup when my acne was extremely bad and it gave me a sense of hope and comfort. People should realize there is an art, high level of creativity and attention to detail to makeup artistry.

What flavor would you say best describes you?

I would probably have to say salted caramel because I have an incredibly sweet side but I can also add a little kick to things.

Funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Well one time a guy thought it would be a good idea to Snapchat me every second of the day to try and talk to me instead of just asking for my number and having a normal conversation. And he would send a Snapchat picture every five seconds showing me every single thing he was doing, needless to say it was just lame and went nowhere.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Valerie. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Being authentic to who you are. Always own who you are and embrace every aspect of your being. That will exude and attract the right people, places and things into your life. You will emulate sexiness.

  • Filipina British Actress Sara Beatriz

    Filipina British Actress Sara Beatriz

It is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy, Sara.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

For me that’s a super complicated question! I’m half Filipina/half British and was born in Hong Kong. I spent my childhood there then lived in India, Turkey and Oxford before reading History at University in London. But home is where the heart is – and that’s in the Philippines 🙂

What inspired you to be an actress?

When I was younger I always dreamt about being an actress but never voiced it out loud because I thought it was crazy. I still don’t feel comfortable saying it. Then when I focused on my future, all the career advice I heard was rooted to following your passion (kind of like how in love you should follow your heart) and that’s when I knew I would move to LA from London.

Do you have a memorable acting experience you can share with us?

A memorable acting experience was my first short film I did (that’s so cutely titled Bubble) where I had to get out of my car distressed and confront a guy I was obsessed with in front of the notorious Paul Smith pink wall on Melrose Avenue in front of around 30 people watching… all with a knife in hand!

How did the idea of KAYA essentials come about?

I attended a talk on how a Filipino organisation (Gawad Kalinga) was cultivating social businesses in the Philippines and how doing business with a heart could alleviate poverty. I had no background in business but had the heart for KAYA and took it from there. I loved sharing the fact that Philippines produced a lot of the world’s coconut oil and when I learnt how many Filipino coconut farmers remain in poverty (the statistics are staggering) I knew I had to do something with coconut oil – plus it’s my number one beauty secret for my hair.

Tell us more about your charity work and how KAYA is involved!

For every KAYA lip balm, a meal is provided to a Filipino child in need through a local feeding programme called Kusina ng Kalinga. The programme feeds up to 20,000 public school and street children every day. And just as how KAYA wants customers to purchase with a purpose, where possible the ingredients are purchased from Filipino family and social businesses and farmers cooperatives.

Is there something you have achieved so far that you are most proud of?

I would have to say KAYA is a major achievement. But also perfecting my roast chicken and being a dog mama.

Have you done something embarrassing before that seems funny now?

In school I joined MUN… model united nations… because I thought it was an after school activity on modelling. I was so confused why it was held in the computer lab and why my brother was there too. Oops.

Which is the funniest or lamest way a guy has tried to know you?

One guy had a ‘getting to know each other’ game that had too many complicated rules for a first date or even just in general. I kept thinking, why don’t we just have a conversation?

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Sara. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Confidence with nice lip balm on your lips 😉

  • Model & Actress Maria Perez

    Model & Actress Maria Perez

Hi Maria it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Well, I am from a small town called Masaya near the capital of the country Nicaragua. A little about myself, I have been pretty independent ever since I was a teenager. I have always had a passion for fashion and modeling so I moved to NY at a very young age to pursue my dream. I started out as a scout and booker, but eventually was able to get into modeling.

I love the arts too; I enjoy drawing anime style sketches and enjoy a good flick. I just recently moved to LA from my home country again to concentrate full time on modeling. I have worked with and met some great people already and I am just getting started.

What is your proudest achievement so far?

My proudest achievement is my independence at an early age and my hard work as a model. I have been lucky enough to work with great people and brands as a model. I used to be kind of over-weight but I have pushed myself to get in shape and it has helped me out a lot. I’m never done either. I work out hard, try to maintain a healthy diet, and just live a good lifestyle. Still, I hope my proudest achievements are yet to come.

Which is the best compliment you have received?

Definitely that I can go far and be something special. Also being told I am easy to work with and very professional.

How will you describe your fashion style?

My style is classy but a little sexy too. I like to follow recent trends in fashion and put my own touch on things. I also like to dress casual style because I have that kind of relaxed vibe.

What is the funniest thing you have witnessed or happened to you?

I once ended up sleeping in the sand of a random beach sharing a blanket with my two best friends. It was ridiculous how we ended up there in the first place but it happened and we always laugh about it.

If you could be a fictional character, who will you be?

Hua Mulan. She was unselfish, a risk taker, and a fighter. She goes beyond just a Disney movie. She is worth looking up to.

Which genre of movies do you enjoy most?

    Definitely horror/psychological thrillers!

What is your worst date experience ever?

My worst date was with a guy who invited me to dinner. It was weird and we barely spoke to each other. Then he asked me if we could go to his place and he wanted me to pay the bill too. That was pretty bad haha!

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Maria. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

“Sexy” to me is confidence in one self. Being cultured and having a good fashion sense is important too. Vulgarity is not sexy in my opinion; you don’t have to look so provocative to be sexy.
