What It’s Like To Be A Trans Performer

For me, camming is a way for me to show off this body I’m proud of in a way that gives me control over my environment. I have fun with it whether I’m solo or not, and it can be very reaffirming sometimes.

What Performing On Cam Is Like

Make no mistake, this is a job. It’s fun, I set my own hours, and I can decide on what happens when, but there’s a lot more to it than sitting in front of a camera naked and having fun with yourself. Hours of work on make-up, hair, hygiene, and self promotion go into every show I do. A three hour show can wind up being 6-7 hours of work. Still, it’s better than retail.

Toughest Thing Being A Trans Performer

There’s actually a lot of trans performers out there, as many as cis performers; it can be difficult to stand out.

Favorite Scene To Perform

I like being topped by a cute femme (cis/trans) in a scene with impact; it’s something I enjoy off camera, so doing it on camera is just a bonus.

Misconceptions About Trans Performers

I find there’s an expectation to fit into a certain mold in both image and what kind of scenes I do. But transgender performers are as varied as cisgender performers; we’re not a catch all fetish category, and we don’t all look alike.

Tips For Aspiring Trans Performers

Do your research; don’t do anything you don’t want to do; be unique; be kind to yourself; take mental health breaks; most importantly, don’t isolate yourself.
