Travel Enthusiast Meika From Hong Kong
I am born and raised in Hong Kong. I am a part time accountant as well as a freelance dance tutor, especially for children. I am a travel enthusiast so I started an Instagram travel account last year and have been a travel blogger for these two years.
What hobbies and interests do you have?

I love traveling, dancing, hiking and singing. I am a budget traveler and I really enjoy hiking, and taking dance classes in different countries. I always prefer nature and mountains! I love learning new things so I have started learning the ukulele last month during the third wave of COVID 19 in Hong Kong.

How is a typical day like for yourself?

Before the coronavirus, I used to have a busy schedule. I work as an accountant in the morning and as a dance tutor in the afternoon and evening. Besides, I go for dance classes regularly. I use my freelancing to fund my travelling. My dream is to be a traveling freelancer!

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?

1. I am not a foodie. I sometimes eat one meal per day when traveling alone in order to save money. XD

What are 3 fun things you like to do in the city you live in?

1. Dancing for sure!

2. Hiking. There are many amazing hiking trails in Hong Kong.

Traveling is one of greatest things that you should do in your life. It gives me such a true happiness because during travelling, I get the total freedom of myself and continue living without any pressure or stress. I gain new experiences, insights and challenge my boundaries. It helps me to get know myself. I appreciate my time even more and be grateful for this.

Most Memorable Travel Experience

The most memorable travel experience was when I got lost in the mountains (It sounds silly). I had been climbing up and down alone for almost an hour just to find a way out from this place which I thought I was on the right path as I followed the signs. There was nobody and I was not panicked in that moment, probably because I enjoyed the weather and nature’s air until the more that I climbed, I got frustrated and worried.

Luckily, I saw someone a few steps in front of me. I was thinking, “oh man, at least there is somebody there“. Actually he also got lost. On the way when we were looking for a way out together, we discovered a number of beautiful views although we were tired. It was a great experience and I didn’t regret that I got lost. Otherwise, I would not be able to enjoy the beautiful views.

Learning From An Unfortunate Experience

There was once when me and my friends were crossing the road to buy some bread, when suddenly there were two people running towards us and snatched my friends’ phone. We tried our best to get back my friends’ phone and protect our own belongings. We shouted but nobody was helping, and we fought with them.

This incident happened in Europe, and as we know Europe has a lot of pick pockets and there was no use for making a police report. From there, I learnt to be more careful with my belongings, carrying them close to me. Don’t use a backpack if possible, but if needed, then carry it in front of you. Keep close to your belongings and hold your bag when you are taking the lift with a bunch of people.

Must Have Items For Any Traveler

If you ask me what items are a must have in any traveler, I will have a long list to list out. HAHAHA. As a girl, I have quite a lot of items to bring. It’s not that I overpack but I think that it is quite essential to have and it’s there when you need it urgently. Here is the list:
- Skin care, sunscreen, make up (for girl, YES)
- Sunglasses, hat, eye drop
- Toiletry
- Inflatable neck pillow, power bank, headphone (especially in the plane)
- Tripod, Camera
- Phone Charger
- Water Bottles
- Day Bag / Carry on Bag
- Tissue, Wet Tissue
- Packing Cubes
- Universal Travel Adaptor
- Medicine
- Comfortable shoes and essential clothes
Travel Must Do’s For Myself

Yes, it’s I definitely have some must do’s. You must try their local food. If there are certain food that you are picky on, at least try a bit and get the experience. Eat like a local and enjoy the food.

Go to restaurant that you like and research on the recommended food to eat.

Do not miss out on the sightseeing part and attractions especially those must visit and iconic places. Spend some time in nature. Record the memories and take photos of it.

Hop on to local markets and shops. It is the opportunity to scoop up special items that will serve as a memento for your journey. Buy something that you like and cherish for years.

Last but not least, check out their night life!

Tips For First Time Travelers

The first thing is, please be careful with your belongings regardless of where you go, and even in the hotel as well. Lock your luggage if you feel uncomfortable. There are pick pockets and scammers are anywhere.

Don’t be afraid to be an adventurer, explore as much as you can. The world is beautiful.

Always check the weather before you travel and download offline maps. Be polite and respect their culture even if they don’t understand you due to the communication barrier.

Be smart and flexible on your itinerary, it’s the best way to adapt.

The 3 things that can’t missing in my closet are: dresses, bags and heels.

How do you like to spend your weekends?

I like to use weekends to travel and see new places and cultures together with my better half.

Which is your most exotic travel experience so far?

The most exciting and wild travel I’ve ever done was a few years ago in Mexico that has remained in my heart and I would very much like to see it again. But this year I am planning another three beautiful trips: Cappadocia in Turkey, Maldives and Dell India tours. I’m very excited and can’t wait to leave.

What is the best compliment you have received?

The best compliment that I’ve received is regarding my beautiful smile that they say conveys joy, my sunshine and kindness. I grew up following the footsteps of my grandfather who I always saw as friendly and smiling with everyone even though he had many problems, always helping others as soon as he had the opportunity.

Do you have any other hobbies and interests?

My passion is: travel, fashion, nature, animals and read book and write on my social profile.

What do you not get about the opposite sex?

On the other sex I do not get friendship in the sense that unfortunately you cannot cultivate a pure and simple friendship with the other sex because it always springs from another and there is always a hidden purpose.

Fitness Enthusiast & Bikini Competitor Quinn O’Connell

It is an honor to be featured on SimplySxy! My name is Quinn O’Connell. I am a 22 year old recent grad from Massachusetts who has a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Fashion Merchandising.

How did you get started into fitness and being a bikini competitor?

I have always been pretty athletic. Name a sport and I probably played it once in my day. I ended up continuing my basketball career at the collegiate level, but once I graduated I knew I had to find something else that would keep me motivated, in a set routine, and physically and mentally in check.

I have been watching a family friend, who is now my recent coach, compete for years and I was always so intrigued by the sport but never thought I would have enough confidence or self-discipline to compete but I mustered up the courage to give it a shot and I never looked back!

What is your workout regime like?

My coach implements my workout regiment every four weeks. So every new month I am sent a new workout protocol. As of right now, since I am in off-season, I am looking to build a ton of muscle. Which means my workouts are currently consisting of heavy weight lifts and less cardio.

Do you follow a strict diet and avoid any particular food?

When on prep I follow a very strict diet and only eat certain foods and switch them up in a number of ways. During off-season I am still very aware of what I am consuming, but more than following a “strict diet”, I try to count my macros and hit them as accurately as I can.

What other hobbies or interests are you into?

As for other interests besides fitness, I would say my number one interest is traveling. Nothing makes me happier than getting away (specifically by myself), and meeting new people while exploring and experiencing new cultures/areas. I have been to over ten other countries so far and would love to expand my list far beyond this number.

If you could learn anything in this world, what will it be?

There are a ton of things I would like to learn, some of which I am in the process of being certified in. I think on top of those things, I would love to be fluent in another language.

Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now when you look back?

Oh gosh, there are way too many stories for this question I couldn’t even fit it on the page. Embarrassing myself is a daily occurrence!

What turns you off on a date and have you had a bad date experience?

I think what turns me off the most on a date in cockiness. I am all for someone carrying themselves with confidence, but arrogance is a completely different story. To be honest, I haven’t been on many “dates.” So I haven’t had a terrible experience…YET.

My definition of sexy would be, simply put, confidence. There is nothing more attractive than someone who can completely be themselves in any atmosphere and embrace their inner selves without trying to conform to something they’re not. Loving yourself and not being embarrassed by others opinions has certainly changed my life and I love to see it in others!

What inspires you?

People, places, culture, technology, traveling and helping others inspires me. I love interacting with humans and listening to their untold stories. I enjoy visiting places that have a rich history and learning about cultural differences. Seeing how technology evolves and allows humans to interact better is incredible. Traveling to new destinations and helping others gives me joy. I love learning and growing! All of these things are constantly inspiring me!

Was the moving and settling in Madrid harder than you thought even though you had studied there before?

Yes, moving to Madrid has been more challenging this time around because when I studied abroad there three years ago, most of the paperwork was taken care of by my Universities and the host family I lived with. This time around, it has been me doing everything 100% but that is okay because this is what I wanted. I studied abroad in Madrid for five months and loved it so much, I had to find a way back…so to me, it has been worth it because I get to be back in the city I once fell in love with.

If you had to choose 3 things you love more than others in Spain, what will they be?

American banks, American clothing stores, and American restaurants. These three have faster service than Spain’s does. I miss the speed of being attended to in the States. However, at the same time, I love how Spain’s culture is much more relaxed and they are not in a rush to get you in and out of places.

Which is your most memorable travel experience so far?

Gosh, this is hard to answer because I’ve had some really incredible travel experiences so far. But if I were to choose one, I would have to say visiting one of my best friends in Lisbon, Portugal when she was also studying abroad in Europe during the same time I was. I booked a weekend trip from Madrid to Lisbon and stayed in a hostel. She was dating a Portuguese tour guide at the time who was so sweet and drove us around beautiful Lisbon, took us to the Sintra Castle, and then wine & chocolate tasting, all while telling us the history of his country.

We rode tuk tuk’s together (small little vehicles) and enjoyed bar hopping on the crowded streets at night. When I returned to the hostel after such a great day of exploring, I came back to someone sleeping in my assigned bed! This was kind of wild because the rest of the other 8 beds in my room were also taken… which makes me conclude that my life is simply like a novela (a Spanish soap opera)and I just knew something like this would happen to me.

When I told the front desk person, they were super apologetic and didn’t know how some random person snuck into my bed but I told them not to worry because I didn’t want to wake up the sleepy snorlax who snatched my bed. I ended up sleeping on the communal hostel sofa instead and got reimbursed. LOL, good times! But as the Spanish say, “no pasa nada,” aka it’s all good!

Have you ever been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now when you look back?

Too many to count! In fact, I’ve had so many embarrassing moments that I’ve learned how to blow them off and play it cool as if nothing has ever happened ;). The most recent embarrassing moment has been when I said a Spanish phrase wrong and learned the meaning behind it… I said “Estoy caliente” which I thought meant, I’m hot due to the weather but it means “I’m turned on.”

The proper way to say it is “Hace calor” or “tengo calor.” The most embarrassing part was, I said it to my host Mom when we recently met for her birthday dinner and she told me to never say that out loud, especially if there are men around. OOPS.

If you could collaborate or meet with anyone past or present, who will it be?

I would love to collaborate with @Jamienkidd one day! Jamie and her husband are so adorable and create the most amazing fashion, lifestyle and travel content on instagram! They are both so sweet and humble too! Wow, she’s my mega inspiration.

Which is the funniest or worst attempt a guy has tried to know you?

Oh… so I met a guy at a hostel on a random solo weekend getaway I did to Alicante, Spain. I met him with a few others in a group setting and we all agreed to do another group getaway a month later in Cadiz, Spain. I was having a great time and we all booked a shared room in a hostel together. Halfway into our trip, I realized he was starting to get closer and closer to me, until finally he tried to kiss me goodnight before I hopped into bed and I was like “Woah! What are you doing!?”

I think I scared him more with that response than he scared me with his attempted kiss. I’m not sure but the weirdest part was we had one more day to spend together so I kept my distance but also tried to act like nothing happened the entire day. Meanwhile, I was thinking we were just friends the entire time. So that escalated pretty quickly!

Hello! Thank you for featuring me! I was born and raised in sunny Los Angeles, CA. I graduated from the University of San Francisco and lived there for three years. One of my major hobbies includes traveling to various countries and practicing Bikram yoga.

What is your proudest achievement so far?

My proudest achievement so far has to be sticking to my nutritional regime for the past five years. It has changed my life for the better and I feel great.

Which is the best compliment you have received?

The best compliment I have ever received from anyone was, “You are a very funny and charismatic person with a good heart.”

Do you have a very strict fitness regime?

I wouldn’t consider my regime VERY strict, but I do go to the gym at least three times a week and take hot yoga classes during the weekends. I find my regime to be the ultimate stress reliever and I never regret a workout.

Is there a food or drink you can’t live without?

One drink I can’t live without (besides water) would be ICED COFFEE with a splash of half and half and no sweetener. As for food, I’m Californian so obviously AVOCADO TOAST and SUSHI.

Are you more of a morning person or night owl?

Definitely more of a morning person (I get more done :D).

If you could have a superpower, which will it be?

The ability to teleport! I would save a bundle on airline tickets!

What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

I received a call from a guy who had gotten my number from a mutual friend. He left a voicemail indicating the reason why he was calling. He basically wanted to get to know me and thought I was interesting. He then ends his message with, “I’m also really rich now and have LOADS of money. I don’t need to work a day in my life anymore. I can buy you anything you want.”

A person who needs to indicate their worth by flaunting their wealth is a total deal breaker for me.

Hi everyone. My name is Molly and I’m from Bangkok, Thailand. I’m a proud mother of two boys. I have a strong interest for fashion, travel and blogging. I’m a true fashion addict and constantly on the lookout for the latest trends but the fashion of mine doesn’t mean it has to be always expensive, if you know how to mix and match, and make all those outfits suit with your character. When and where did the inspiration to starting your website/blog come about?

My website and blogging were inspired by my Instagram followers/friends. I have had my IG account for quite some time but only since recently I have been very active. I have met many people through this platform who have been an inspiration to me. My decision to start a website and writing blogs also comes from my desire to show more of myself than just pictures.

Where do you usually shop from?

Good question! To be honest I don’t have a particular shop that I always go to. Sometimes I also buy them online and made so many mistakes on it. Typically, I stumble upon a good outfit. Bangkok is located in Central Asia, and therefore very famous for tourists and businessmen. I’ll try to summarize the highlights for bangkok
1. I would recommend to see the beautiful temples that Bangkok has to offer.
2. Floating markets are very famous and should definitely be on your list.
3. And the last but not least is our night life. Bangkok is famous for its exquisite nightlife scene (as an extra I would like to promote the street food with all its variety of flavors and spices).
Are there any hidden gems in Thailand you can recommend for a getaway that most tourists don’t know about?

Thailand has many, many beautiful places and of course, many are very touristic. We have many small (nearly) un-touched islands that are breathtaking, and very quiet. If you want to leave the tourist areas and discover the real Thailand, then do some investigation and you’ll be amazed with what you might find!

What beauty tips can you share to looking so fantastic?

Thank you so much for such a great compliment, you can’t see but I’m blushing at the moment. I use certain products on a daily basis, particularly for my skin and my hair. I’m very proud of my hair as it’s very healthy. Other than that, I try to work out a few times a week to retain my health.

If you could have a superpower, what will you choose to have?

Hmmm… I would like to have a super mum power who can fly everywhere and who can lift heavy things up so I can lift up my children and fly to school to avoid the traffic in Bangkok.

Do you have any hobbies?

This might sound cliché, but as my social media takes up a lot of time, plus I enjoy doing it, you could say that is one of my hobbies. I enjoy shopping on some of Bangkok’s local market. I love cooking and I love to spend time with my friends and family.

Sexy Travel: 5 Great Countries Where Hiring an Escort Is Legal

Many people get really excited when planning a trip. What will the food be like? Which sites should I see? Where can I find an escort to really spice up my trip?

Okay, so the last question certainly isn’t on the mind of every traveler but it is a valid one. Every country around the world has its own unique laws regarding sex workers and while most of those laws are in place to prevent exploitation and human trafficking, other aspects of the laws actually help women (and men in some cases) work safely as an escort if they choose to.

Other aspects of these laws relate to promotion. In most of the countries where it is legal promoting it illegally by outside parties is not, so it’s wise to keep this in mind when you’re on a travel high and looking to hire an escort for the night (or two).

1. Great Britain

5. Spain

Spain is one of the most beautiful and most visited countries in Europe, but it’s not always for the wine and tapas. Spain’s sex business is booming as people from all over the world come to meet with some of the country’s most beautiful women.

The legality of sex work in Spain is somewhat muddled, but the escorts or their clients are rarely bothered by law enforcement, who instead focus on those that illegally promote these services. Apart from that I’ve been modelling part time for about 7 years now and have been very blessed to appear in several local and international magazines such as FHM, CLEO, Debonair and even commercials for brands like Johnnie Walker and Axe. I’m also a freelance travel writer for Leisure Travel Magazine and I do emceeing and event management occasionally.

Tell us more about Urban Niche and how you started it.

I started Urban Niche in 2013. I decided to do it as I’ve always been very passionate about fashion and the latest clothing trends. My focus for the brand has mostly been swimwear as I find that in KL there is sometimes very limited choices when it comes to finding a perfect bikini design that suits your body type. Being a bikini model for so many years, I’ve been truly blessed to meet so many people in the industry including photographers, models and makeup artists, some of whom I’ve become very good friends with. Everyone was so supportive when I decided to start the brand and I got so much help and support with all the photoshoots and fashion shows that it started to escalate really well. I now have a pretty decent following on Facebook and Instagram as well as a store in Paradigm Mall called Red’s Revenge where my merchandise is sold. I’ve also branched out into dresses and gymwear. I find the gymwear doing particularly well this year as there are more and more women getting into health and fitness these days. I’m actually considering venturing into a lingerie line as well next year if all goes well.

What types of bikini should every lady own?

Well to me the most important thing when it comes to wearing a bikini is that a woman should feel comfortable and confident in it. If you feel sexy on the inside you will automatically portray that on the outside as well. Of course one should know their body type while choosing a bikini so that they know what design will fall best on them. I find that a lot of women like the monokinis that are the one piece swimsuits as it gives more coverage in certain areas to cover body parts that they might feel insecure about. Some ladies who are bolder and more daring like the bikinis which come in several types of designs such as bikini thongs, bandage bikinis, tanga bikinis, bandeau bikinis and even Brazillian bikinis. If a woman is keen on getting a perfect even tan, then I would definitely recommend the bikinis with less coverage to achieve that.

Do you have any hobbies?

Yes I certainly do! I got very into health and fitness about two years back. I try to hit the gym at least 2-3 times a week. I also enjoy yoga and swimming as I find it very relaxing. I used to be a figure skater when I was younger but unfortunately I had a terrible knee injury and had to stop. I still do enjoy skating but can’t do it at such an intense pace as I used to before. For leisure, I enjoy shopping and watching movies during the weekend. I can also play a pretty wicked game of pool if anyone is up for it!

Which is one memorable travel encounter you have experienced so far?

I would have to say my recent trip to Japan just last month was one of the most interesting and beautiful places I’ve ever been to. I was actually there for work to cover a few specific places for the travel magazine that I write for. It was truly a different experience for me as the whole history, culture and beauty of Japan was absolutely intriguing. I was in Osaka for a couple of days, and I really liked the winter fashion for women over there which I found super cute. The food was amazing as well and was definitely one of the highlights of the trip as I’ve always been a huge fan of Japanese cuisine. Apart from that, another memorable encounter was probably my trip to LA a few years ago. I was there as Miss Eaglerider Malaysia at the Long Beach Grand Prix which was so much fun! I definitely dig the Hollywood vibe and I just love the style and fashion over there. Everyone looks like they just stepped out of a movie or a magazine!

Where do you usually shop?

I absolutely love H&M! I don’t think I’ve ever walked in there without buying something! Lol. Their recent collaboration HM X Balmain was so gorgeous but unfortunately most of the stuff was sold out by the time I got there. Apart from that, I like Miss Selfridge, Bebe, Zara, MNG and Topshop. I’m really into highstreet fashion and the urban look. For lingerie I like Lasenza and Victoria’s Secret as they always have really nice cuttings and cute designs. For shoes, I usually head to Charles & Keith, Aldo, Guess or Vincci. When it comes to makeup, I usually stick to brands that I’m comfortable with like MAC, Sephora, Bobbi Brown and Urban Decay.

What is the most expensive item you have ever splurged on?

The most expensive item I ever splurged on was probably my Burberry Bag. It was a rather ridiculous price for it but it was so lovely I just couldn’t help myself! Lol.

Which is your favorite body part?

I like my eyes. I like the way they’re shaped and I’ve been told by several people I have very feline like features. I think your eyes are the window to your soul and you can always read a person a little bit better by looking directly into their eyes. Plus which man can’t be disarmed with a sexy glance? 😉

I think sexy is more of an attitude. It is a confidence with a touch of class. Of course I think every woman should groom themselves and make sure they look great for their man and even occasionally surprise him with some sexy lingerie after he comes back from a long day at work. However, it is not necessarily always related to physical appearances but can also sometimes be more of a mental connection you have with someone. To me, being sexy is being ambitious and independent because I think a woman should believe in herself first before trying to impress anyone else.

Who is Ms Dimples?

My real name is Amal. It’s an Arabic name which means hope. I was born in Saudi Arabia, grew up in the Philippines and currently living in Vancouver, Canada. Hmm… I love colorful clothes. I tend toward looking casual, yet pretty. Most of my clothes can go from day to night.
