Houston Lifestyle & Travel Blogger Diana Bhatt

I am from Houston, TX. Being from the South Asian household, my first exposure to beauty was my mom’s kajal that I would put in my waterline. That was the only makeup I would wear in my adolescent. Growing up, I was a tomboy. I was not into fashion or makeup or even keeping up with the current trends. I was more focused in school and extracurricular activities such as Student Council, Poetry club, Art club and Debate club. After graduating from college and stepping into the corporate field, I became more interested in fashion/makeup as I was earning income to afford it.

Aside from blogging and sharing my favorite finds on Instagram, I do work full time as an HR consultant. Helping people grow and prosper in their career has always been a passion of mines.

Do you have any hobbies or interests?

I love traveling. My bio in my Instagram states “wanderlust”. My biggest advice I would give 20-year old’s is travel if you can. Clubbing/Partying is fun for a while, however, traveling creates memories. This world has a lot to offer. I have been to Miami, Saudi Arabia, New York, India, Las Vegas and Grand Canyon. I do have a bucket list of places I still would like to visit, however, due to covid it halted. I cannot wait to travel again and make more memories.

I also love running. It helps me clear my mind and helps with stress. I tend to overthink about things and I feel at peace after running few miles.

    What inspires your fashion style?

My fashion style is inspired by classy and chic looks. I admire former first lady Jacqueline O. Kennedy and Coco Chanel. I like outfits that can be versatile. I like to wear clothes that can be worn different ways and does not take long time to style. I love brands that offer variety of sizes because size “zero” does not fit all.

Before Covid, I would go into the office early morning and come up with outfits to wear for the week during on Sunday evening. My style I would can be worn by the busy mom, or the woman on the go.

Which is the best compliment you have received?

Beauty with brains. It meant a lot to me that I was noticed beyond my looks.

How will you describe a typical day like for yourself?

As I am working full time, I am currently balancing my life as a blogger/consultant. I currently work a hybrid model at work and the days I do go in the office, I do work 10 – 12 hours. Even working from home, I am committed to working long hours. However, during the weekend I like to plan my content. I am selective with the brands I work with as I do not have the bandwidth. Currently I create monthly content for Express and just started working with White House Black Market. My beautiful Mom takes my photos and loving I call her my “Momager”.

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but have yet to find the time for it?

I always wanted to fly off an airplane and go camping. I want to do something adventurous and exciting. I also want to drive an ATV through a desert. There are plenty of adventurous things I would love to do if I had the time.

Have you been in an embarrassing situation before that is funny now when looking back?

As we started working from home, we are relying on apps like Microsoft Teams to stay connected with our team members. I had two meetings at the same time n MS Teams. I was not required to attend one meeting, however, I was required to attend the other one. Anyways, I connect to the meeting I am not required to attend and started speaking about something different. Within a minute, I realized I was in the wrong meeting and excused myself to leave. It was so embarrassing! Thank god the management was forgiving! Anyways, this taught me to take a better look at the title.

What turns you off on a date?

It has to been when he is on the phone. Nothing irritates me more than when he is on his phone and I am trying to convey something to him. It is not only disrespectful when he is on the phone and providing his full attention to you, but also it is as if he is not interested in you.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Diana. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone is beautiful in his/her own way. Beauty will fade, however, what is on the inside stays for a life time. I personally believe being sexy is having a beautiful heart.

  • Italian Travel Blogger Greta Omoboni

    Italian Travel Blogger Greta Omoboni

Hi everyone! My name is Greta, I’m 24-years old, I’m Italian and I’m originally from Milan. I moved to London in 2012 for University and have been living there for the past six years.

When did your love for traveling start?

I’m lucky enough that my parents have always taken me on trips with them from when I was very young. My very first international trip was at the age of five when my dad took me to Disneyland in Paris. You can say that was the start of my love for travelling, once I had a taste of new and foreign cultures, I just couldn’t get enough!

Which 1-2 memorable travel experiences have you had so far that is unforgettable?

I try to find something memorable in all my travels, however if I had to pick one experience that I will always remember, it would be all the hikes we did in New Zealand when I was there in May. I spent one week road tripping with my best friends around the South Island of New Zealand, and every day we made sure to do at least one hike. My favorite but also the toughest was Roy’s Peak. This is a 16km return hike with a 1km incline. Reaching the top was extremely challenging but the feeling of exhilaration when we did, coupled with the stunning views of the snowy mountain tops peaking through the clouds, made for a truly unforgettable experience. Living it with my best friends made it even better.

What other hobbies or interests do you have?

I’m a huge fan of water sports. I’ve tried pretty much any form of sport that can be done in water, including swimming, surfing, sailing, synchronized swimming, water polo and windsurfing. Training in a pool isn’t particularly fun so I love travelling to beach destinations where I can try practicing these sports in the sea without the confines of a pool.

Have you been in an embarrassing moment before that is funny now when looking back?

Way too many to tell them all! Some still make me cringe more than laugh when I look back on them. Most recently, slipping on the sailing boat I was working on this summer just after having given the safety demonstration and whacking my head. Needless to say, on that day people did follow my advice and always held onto a railing.

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do or learn but haven’t had the time?

I would love to learn another language. I consider myself mother tongue in both English and Italian and I can make myself understood in Spanish, but I’d love to learn another language, especially a tough one like Arabic or Chinese. I even gave it a try at University and attended a language class that the Arabic society organized but it clashed with water polo training and I never had the time to pick it up again.

Some consider also coding and programming a language and I’d love to learn that too. I manage everything for my blog by myself which means very often I end up breaking something in the HTML coding and have to ask someone for help to get my site back up and running.

If you could time travel, where will you go?

I’ve always been a fan of fantasy and historical fiction books and movies so I like the idea of travelling back to before the Industrial Revolution, to Europe during the Middle Ages, Renaissance or the Age of Discovery. The idea of living in a time where there was still a whole world to discover excites me! Realistically though, I think I’m a bit too used to modern comforts to actually enjoy living in the past!

Which city or area do you feel is most romantic for a getaway?

It really depends on your idea of romantic! Some people find Paris romantic but the idea of a busy and chaotic street doesn’t appeal to me. I’d much rather go to a quiet beach destination where you can have a drink on the beach at sunset, undisturbed by the crowds.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Greta. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Confidence. To me when someone is comfortable in their own skin they appear “sexy”.

  • Travel Blogger & YouTuber Amelia Rose

Travel Blogger & YouTuber Amelia Rose

Hi! Well as you already know, my name is Amelia (or liarosealice on social media) which is a shorter version of my name, Amelia Rose Alice. I’m 23 and live in the midlands and I’m currently studying for my Master’s Degree in International Business. Although I’m a student, you’ll probably catch me on a plane travelling somewhere new or in my happy place, the gym.

What was the inspiration behind starting your website?

My love of travel. I’d post about my travels on Instagram and Youtube and receive so many questions and messages asking for advice and tips and I decided to start my own blog to help others and share my knowledge.

How is your fashion style like?

I’ve always struggled to define my style, but if I had to, I’d say timeless and simple. I love buying staple pieces for my wardrobe and I don’t buy into trends so much, I know what suits me and that could be a pair of Nike’s, Lululemon leggings and a sports top one day to a red summer dress the next.

Which is your most memorable life experience so far?

Travelling to New York City a few years ago most definitely. I’ve always wanted to live in the US and I’ve never felt so at home anywhere than in New York, it made me realise that a childhood dream is something I can most definitely achieve.

Where is your dream holiday destination?

Bali! I’ve never been but somewhere filled with beautiful nature, açaí bowls and infinity pools looks like heaven to me.

Do you have a sweet tooth?

More of a savoury one, but I definitely need dessert after dinner and have a constant need for cronuts.

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t had the time to do it?

Become fluent in German, I’m on the cusp but life gets in the way from taking that step. It’s easy to do when living in that country, but I haven’t had a few months spare to just live in Berlin yet unfortunately.

Funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

This may be lame or just super creepy, but a senior manager from the company I first worked for followed me around London after a training day once and kept insisting he showed me around although I knew it better than he did. I ended up being obnoxiously slow in Whole Foods when buying my breakfast for the next morning and he eventually left after I told him I didn’t want to go for dinner with him.

Another weird twist to the story is the waiter at Wagamama’s that night also tried to ask me out and drew a flower on my menu when I went to the bathroom and sat opposite me when I was eating. Moral of the story being, if you’re alone on a business trip you may experience some weirdness like this haha.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Amelia. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy to me is an attitude, knowing what you want and just going for it. There’s nothing better in my opinion than ambition and confidence, and I believe that both of them exude sexiness.

  • Travel Blogger Jessay

    Travel Blogger Jessay

Hi Jessay it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

I was born and raised on a little farm in the east of Germany and moved to Munich at just 18 years of age. For six years, I worked as a chef for a Bavarian star cook and another five years a a shop assistant in a well established Munich jeans store. At the moment I travel around the world. We just started in New Zealand, will go to Australia afterwards before exploring South East Asia.

What is your fashion style like?

Destroyed black jeans and oversized tanktops are my favs.

I also love the street style of boyfriend jeans combined with a nice blouse.

My must-have-item is always one of my extravagant leather jackets (and I have lots of them ;-))

Which is your most memorable travel experience so far?

Our trip to Bali was crazy with a beautiful villa, scooter cruises through the endless rice fields, the nice temples and the food was just amazing and I know what I’m taking about ;-). Another episode I will never forget was when, I woke up completely jet lagged at Jervis Bay in Australia about 5am and the whole porch of our house was full of little colorful birds, which even dared to eat from our hands.

Just today I am shortly before maybe one of the most exciting events in my life as we go on a whale-watching trip tomorrow. Whales are my absolutely favorite animals and have always been, so that will be very exciting and emotional for me to see one of these giants in free nature.

What are 3 essential tips that every traveler should follow?

Be open, honest and friendly and take the things and people as they come your way. The world wasn’t waiting for you to come along but if you treat it right, good things will happen to you. And never forget, always bring toilette paper.

Where did the inspiration to start your blog come from?

I started my blog on Instagram because a lot of my customers at the jeans store told me that they liked my style and how I helped them to find something that they liked for themselves. So I thought, why show and tell that to only 20 people a day, when I could easily reach a lot more and inspire their style. I wanted to show the whole world my idea of fashion and life style.

If you could have a superpower, which will it be?

To be able to never need to go pee when traveling 😉

Do you believe in any superstition?

    I believe in Karma.

What turns you off on a date?

    Smelly breath.

    Ugly teeth.

    Nose hair.

When he still lives with his parents.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Jessay. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is a person who has charm, humor and in best case is a surfer.
