Burlesque Performer, Model & Cosplayer Ruby Rapture

Hi Ruby it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy. Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

I’m Ruby Rapture, a Burlesque perfomer, cosplayer, and model based out of Florida. I lived in California until I was 8, but I love Florida, and the friends I’ve made here, although the humidity is awful!

How did your interest in cosplay develop?

I was actually cosplaying before I knew what cosplay was! When I was 15, my school held a costume contest. I was obsessed with this manga called Di Gi Charat so I decided to dress as Rabi en Rose for the contest. My mother helped me make the costume. No one knew who I was but I still came in 2^nd place to a kid dressed as Jesus.

What challenges do cosplayers face that is not usually known?

For me, as a female cosplayer, I see a lot of the creepier side of cosplay. There’s a line between appreciation and degradation. Cosplayers put their hearts and souls into their work, we love these characters and just want to share that love with others. Regardless of what someone is wearing, they should be treated with respect.

Is there an experience everyone should try at least once in their life?

Burlesque! I think everyone has the right to feel sexy and awesome and burlesque is such a fun way to channel that.

You have a passion for burlesque dancing too. What do you love about it?

I love everything about burlesque, the lights, the crowd, the routines, but most of all I love the feeling of performing burlesque. It’s so empowering. I had a lot of body issues as a breast cancer survivor; performing made me feel beautiful and confident. My burlesque family is amazing, too. I manage Shaken not Stirred Burlesque, and the girls in my troupe are really supportive.

What motto or quotes do you live by?

I think the thing I say the most is “everything is fine,” but my motto is glitter and be great . Or ROADHOUSE!

If you could describe yourself as a flavor, what will it be?

Ruby Red Raspberry!

What exciting projects can we see you in the coming months?

I have a lot of awesome stuff going on over the next few months. I’m performing with Shaken not Stirred Burlesque at Epicon on August 19^th , then catch me and few of the girls at Space Coast Comic con September 8^th and 9^th, and at the end of September I’m starring in a short film that I wrote with my best friend. Confidence, Charisma, and being comfortable enough to be your own damn self. That’s sexy, own it.

Cosplayer & Performer Kayt Supple

Hi Kayt it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy. Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

I’m 28 years old, living in New Jersey (right outside of NYC). I’m currently in school getting my RN and for work, I’m a nanny to two boys. I also work in nightlife in NYC with a performance team as a dancer and circus performer.

What do you love about cosplay?

I love being able to transform into my favorite characters. I got my first bachelors degree in theater, so performance of any kind has always been something I enjoyed. Cosplay allows me to take skills from all performance aspects that I’ve been fortunate enough to learn and create my own art. I have also been incredibly lucky to find some of my best friends through cosplay and the only thing that makes a hobby more enjoyable is when you are doing that hobby with friends.

Which is your most memorable cosplay experience to date?

I think New York Comic Con 2016 was my most memorable cosplay experience. I had just debuted my first Gwenom cosplay in the tunnel (where most photographers set up and all of the cosplayers met for photos) and I received such an overwhelming response from everyone. This was also my big “coming out” in the cosplay world after taking a very long break. I received some of the most amazing photos back from the first day and I made a ton of connections with people I now work with throughout the year in NYC.

Is there an experience everyone should try at least once in their life?

I am firm believer that everyone should travel as much as they can. I work full time and go to school, so I understand the struggle for money and the struggle of just taking time for yourself. Before I went back to school for nursing, I took a few years just working and performing. I was fortunate enough to travel for performances. I got to perform in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Austin, Maryland, and Barbados all within the same year. I met so many amazing people and learned so much about myself in that time traveling. Not only did I get to see these amazing places, but I got to work at music festivals and events where I met other performers and musicians that I had looked up to. It’s very humbling getting to see that someone you idolize is just as human as you.

Which fictional character do you wish was real?

I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan. So if Harry could be real, or any of them really, then it would confirm my belief that my Hogwarts letter was really lost after all.

What motto do you live by?

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”

When people tell you that you go through a ton of changes throughout your 20s, they aren’t lying. The older I get, the more comfortable I am in my skin. The older I get, I realize it doesn’t matter if my stomach isn’t perfectly flat in every photo or if my face doesn’t look “modely” enough. The more I do the things I love, I don’t feel like I’m missing out on things I see that other people are doing. The more I surround myself with the people that support me (no matter how weird I can be at times), the fuller my heart feels and the more I’m assured I am right where I belong.

If you could describe yourself as a flavor, what will it be?

I don’t really know what flavor I would be. Maybe something sweet. But then maybe something a little more sour at times. Depends on the day 😛

What do you find attractive in the opposite sex?

Sense of humor is number one. Laughter truly is the best medicine and with the stress of school and work, sometimes I REALLY need to laugh. Next is confidence. There is nothing more attractive than someone who is confident with who they are and (to take my number one into account) can laugh at themselves. (Because, let’s face it, none of us are perfect.)

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Kayt. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

My answer is going to sound redundant, but sexy to me is someone confident enough to laugh at themselves and make other people laugh. Someone who can leave an impression on a room full of people that they have never met before is so incredibly sexy and someone who understands the importance of honesty and respect. (Whether within a sexual relationship or just a friendship.)

Nashville Model Danielle Gibson

Hi Danielle it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy. Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hello SimplySxy and thank you so much, I am flattered to have been considered! Let’s see, so a little about myself.. I am based in Nashville, TN where I am a full time freelance model. I am also a hula hoop dancer and fire spinner and perform some on the side with that as well. I enjoy traveling, urban exploration, being in nature, and coffee is my life savior. I am very compassionate for animals and have two cats of my own that are my world. Eventually I would love to be able to work both in front and behind the camera and broaden my creativity with photography.

What do you love about modeling?

There is so much that I love about modeling really! The boost of confidence it gives me is pretty nice I must say, there is not a lot that does that for me in the way it does. I love being able to create awesome art with so many different talented people, and no day is ever the same. I have met so many great people along the way who are so talented that I really admire and am happy to have met. Travel is a nice perk to the job as well, although I can’t say I have gotten to venture out as much as I want to but I am hoping to change that in 2017. Working for myself as a freelance artist is pretty satisfying; I guess there’s not a lot that I really dislike about the industry!

What’s your favorite personality trait you like about yourself?

Wow, this is actually a pretty hard question for me. I guess I would have to say not being judgemental. I like to think that I am pretty good at trying to always look into a situation without passing judgment on others and understand why people would do the things they do that maybe isn’t so understandable to most. People aren’t perfect and everyone is going through some type of battle and I just always try to keep that in mind.

Which is the most expensive item you have splurged on?

This will probably sound crazy but as far as things go that aren’t a need but a want more so, I have probably spent the most money on my LED hula hoops. I am also a hoop/fire dancer and have LED hula hoops that are pretty epic if I must say so myself.

Is there a musical artiste or band you wish to see live but haven’t done so?

I have been fortunate enough to see a lot of artist over the years and I guess Jimi Hendrix probably wouldn’t count, so as cheesy as this may sound, it has always been a dream of mine to be able to go to a Stevie Nicks concert and take my Mom with me. She’s her favorite artist but has never been able to see her live and I have always thought that would be the coolest thing to do with her.

How long do you think you can survive a zombie apocalypse?

I didn’t see that one coming, too funny! I think I’d make it a pretty good while though. I mean I may not be the strongest or most brutal person but in a situation like that, game on!

Do you believe in love at first sight?

I don’t know if I believe in love at first sight exactly but I do believe that there are energies certain people are strongly connected to each other by and that is something you can feel upon first meeting a person and it’s those feelings in that moment you don’t ever forget about them.

What’s the lamest pickup attempt a guy has tried on you?

It may not be the lamest but this is definitely a very overused and petty attempt, when I am driving down the road or at a stop light and someone is in the car beside me trying to yell at me “where is your boyfriend?” or “do you have a man?” or something along those lines and next being “well do you want a new one?” I mean seriously, this is almost an everyday thing. I will never understand this method, and guys like that wonder why they are single.

I feel when I see something as sexy it gives me that stop in your tracks, take a second to take it all in as much as you can, breathtaking moment. It can be the way someone walks into the room and catches your attention, or the way they look at you. I feel the “real” sexy is never tried and is something that just happens.

Vivien Chua loves her Lingerie

Looking at the sizzling Singaporean model Vivien Chua will set your pulses racing. Being comfortable in lingerie and having a strong passion in performing, Vivien is one name to take note of in the coming years.

SimplySxy: Hi Vivien, it’s a great pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy. Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Vivien: Hi! Thank for the feature! I’m from Singapore, have been in the modeling and dancing scene since I was 19. And lately just started getting into filming works. Guess I’m passionate about performing arts 🙂

SimplySxy: How did your interest in modelling begin?

Vivien: It all started with a photoshoot for a certain club and slowly grew my interest in it. Creating beautiful images is really satisfying, especially when you look at the end product and realize the hard work is worth it.

SimplySxy: Can you tell us 3 fun facts about yourself?

Vivien: I’m an extreme snapback lover, I’ve over 30 snapbacks in my collection. Huge fan of buffets, I can eat continously for 5 hours.. Haha! Lover of leopard prints designs.

SimplySxy: Are there any items in your wardrobe you simply can’t live without?

Vivien: It would definitely be lingerie! I do mainly lingerie photo shoots.

SimplySxy: What is the naughtiest thing you have ever done and not regret?

Vivien: For me to know and for you to find out :p

SimplySxy: Your favourite alcoholic drink is?

Vivien: I’m no doubt, a beer lover.

SimplySxy: Do you prefer being in lingerie or bikini?

Vivien: That’s a tough one, because I love to chill out at beach bars and beach parties!

SimplySxy: Which is your favourite body part?

Vivien: My eyes.
