    Korean Model Nahna

Hi Nahna it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hi everyone! I’m Nahna and I’m a model based in Boston, Massachusetts. I’m originally from South Korea, went to school in the UK and live in the USA now. I majored in English-Korean Translation and Interpretation, Counseling Psychology, and Korean Language, and I have a Korean Language Teacher’s Certificate issued by the Korean government. I’m also a 3rd-degree black belt in Taekwondo.

How will you describe your fashion style?

Very simple. “Whatever suits me” LOL. As I’m relatively curvy for an Asian, I usually wear clothes that are tight-fitting, because loose-fits make me look either too skinny or too big like the Michelin Tire character. I’m not afraid to try vibrant colors when styling too.

What is your beauty regime like?

I think the most important thing when it comes to “appearance” for Koreans, is the flawless glowing skin. I try to keep things simple when it comes to skincare routines, because for skin, less is more. Too much nutrients will just make the skin break out, so I only use 99% Aloe Vera gel and pure white Vaseline for skincare.

Are there any favorite quotes you have that you use in life?

“Hope for the best, plan for the worst.” I’m not sure whose quote it is but I first heard it from the movie “Bourne Ultimatum” and thought this is the way I should live my life. I also like “Give and forget, receive and remember.”

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?

11 to be honest LOL. I love food so much and literally, that’s the reason why I work out. I’m never on a diet, eat whatever I feel like eating, even though I’m not on the skinnier side for a model, because I cannot give up one of the biggest joys of my life!

If you could a superpower, what will it be and why?

I want to be able to read people’s minds. I’m pretty good at sympathizing with other as I majored Counseling Psychology, but I think it would be easier to heal the hearts of others if I have that power. It must be very stressful for me to have to hear the unfiltered “raw” thoughts of other people, but I think I can bare that if I can be helpful.

Which movie did you watch recently and was it any good?

I watched “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” a couple of days ago and I LOVED it! I’ve always liked any media that are not too mainstream.

What can a guy do to turn you off on a date?

Being stingy is a real turn-off. I’m pro gender-equality, so I don’t think it’s fair to make guys pay for everything, and I’m always ready to pay for me and my date, but, believe it or not, there really are guys who were born stingy, like trying not to give servers the adequate amount of tips for their service, just to save money. You don’t have to be generous, but being stingy is a complete different story and not that attractive.

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Nahna. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Being yourself and happy with that, for me is the definition of the word “sexy.” Thank you for this fun interview. Mwah!

  • Singer Songwriter Cathy Kim

    Singer Songwriter Cathy Kim

My name is Cathy Kim and I am 23 years old. I was born in Sydney, Australia, but moved to S. Korea a few months after I was born. When I was 6, I moved to Dallas, Texas, lived there for 10 years and now I’m in the best of the west, California. I just graduated from UCSB’ 14. Go Gauchos! I am a singer, songwriter at ST5A MRMG in Downtown LA. I am slowly transitioning into a music producer. I also do food blogging on the side, because I love to eat and cook!

Where does your inspiration in music come from?

I began to play the piano since the age of 4, which is a typical thing to do growing up in an Asian family. Playing the piano was something really special to me. I believe it was the only thing that I knew I was really good at and I also knew I had the talent to pursue my career somewhere in the music industry. I wasn’t confident in education, it wasn’t something that I felt comfortable in.

My parents were very strict about me listening to Non-Christian music. They were a very strong spiritual family. However, I have been rebellious since the day I was born. Secretly, I loved to listen to Korean Pop. When my parents were away, I’d sneak on the computer to listen to the latest Korean Ballads, and Pop music.

I took something that I was good at, which is playing the piano and improvising, and what I love to listen together in the beginning year of my college. I was more free since I was further away from my strict parents. I was able to listen to K-Pop whenever I wanted. My musical abilities, and my love for K-Pop definitely brought this whole thing together.

What are some of the challenges artistes face in the competitive K-Pop market?

Back in the days, maybe about 3-5 years ago, it was all about how pretty or good looking the “idols” were, and this is just my opinion, and anyone can disagree. Now currently, I feel as if the superficial aspects of K-Pop is diminishing and it’s more about having multiple talent, which for me, is great. K-Pop industry also wants younger generations as trainees. So, now the older idols are less accepted and they stress about what is stored in next for them in their career. To satisfy a K-Pop fan is tough I think. One has to really be able to execute everything. If you are a dancer, it is recommended that you know how to rap and sing, and vice versa for the vocalists. If you don’t have that, the artist has to know how to entertain. Overall, it’s getting harder to become a K-Pop artist, you have to know how to sing, rap, dance, and entertain.

If you could have the opportunity to collaborate with anyone past or present, who will it be?

My style of writing is transitioning. As a classical trained pianist, it was a lot easier for me to write top lines for Pop. But as I have been taking vocal lessons, and practicing more of new style, R&B and Hip-Hop I personally would love to collaborate with AOMG, ZICO, CRUSH, ZION T, and DEAN.

What’s the most expensive item you have splurged on?

Hm… I’m trying to remember. I rarely go out to shop for clothes or anything. Money never came easy for me. My family always had a hard time. I earned my money through teaching piano and teaching swimming as well. But yes, now I do remember. I saved up about $1500 to buy myself a laptop for college. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was able to download K-Pop music on to my computer and listen to it whenever I wanted.

Can you recommend some of the best spots to party in Seoul?

I can’t answer you this one because I haven’t gone out to party in Seoul, just yet. But I heard Octagon and Arena are poppin’ right now.

If you had the choice of any superpower, what will it be and why?

Teleportation for sure. I want to travel the world. Listen to each culture’s music. I took ethnomusicology classes back in college. I love all kinds of music. I want to just teleport to places and experience their music world.

Which Disney character best represents you?

Ariel. She was rebellious, she learns her lessons through mistakes. She was willing to lose her voice to become human. I’d do anything to stay with music.

What guilty indulgences do you have for food?

Oh dear Lord… I do blog about food. My Instagram is just photos of food. My mom’s a chef. I can’t stop eating. I love Korean food. It’s in my blood. I love garlic, onions, vinegar, kimchi and rice.

    Naughtiest thing you’ve done?

    I’m an angel though… O:)

    What’s sexy to you?

Confidence. I hear celebrities say this all the time, and I highly agree. If you are able to get past your insecurities and out of your comfort zone and accomplish what you want to do, that’s sexy in a woman.

  • Model Grace Lee Hyaeyoun

    Model Grace Lee Hyaeyoun

Hi Grace it is a pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy.  Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

Hello everyone! I’m Grace and I was actually born in S. Korea, but raised in North Carolina since 5. I’m all about exploring and seeing what this life has to offer! Modeling is a hobby, but business is my life.

How did you get started into modeling?

I actually had some photographers email me that they would be interested in shooting with me, due to my Instagram and it being on public, and one thing led to another!

Where do you get your motivation to exercise from?

I grew up exercising with my family and actually fell in love with powerlifting around 2014 and it has been one of my passion since. It’s all about you and your mentality; a time to get to know yourself.

What is the best compliment you have received?

    “You have a big heart”

What is the craziest thing you have ever done so far?

The craziest moment was when I had first gotten my Miata, and I was still getting use to the feel of the car. I had forgotten that the back wheels had balded pretty bad, and on a rainy day, accidently spun 360 in the middle of the street! First time I ever drifted, and oh boy was I scared. Was still fun though!

    Most memorable vacation to date?

Probably Hawaii with the family when I was younger. It’s a beautiful island with such gorgeous colors! Truly a nature’s work.

What song would you say best describes you?

Promiscuous Girl. If you just listen to the song, you will get it.

What do you find attractive in the opposite sex?

Usually, I like to notice both their physical appearance as well as their mind set. I do love a guy who has chest, arms, and a butt, but if they don’t have a good mentality, I see it as a turn off. (sorry!)

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Grace. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Sexy is what you make of it. It cannot be molded into a specific form. For me though, sexy would mean confidence. If you’re confidence shines through, others will view it in a positive way. Although there are some people who take it up to gloating which is a big no no!

  • Meet the beautiful Korean model Kelly Park from Toronto

Meet the beautiful Korean model Kelly Park from Toronto

Hi Kelly, it’s a great pleasure to feature you on SimplySxy. Please share with our readers a little about yourself and where you’re from?

My name is Kelly Park but sometimes I go by Kay Pii. I am 100% Korean nationality but born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I’m a dog lover, foodie, addicted to traveling, love Korean dramas, part sushi spot owner and a former banker. I dable in many different areas of work and left a 9 to 5 to live life to its full potential. I can be a bit silly at times and love to laugh!

    2

Where did your passion and interest for modeling come from?

Modeling was not what I started with. My passion was to get into the film and television industry but was introduced to modeling through the agency. That was when I realized how creative you can be with your photos. I love having control and the ability to change the vibrations of the photos that are shot.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a foodie are you?

I love food and find it very important to enjoy every meal with great choices. I would have to say I am an 8 out of 10.

    3

Where can we find you partying on weekends?

Although I do like to go party downtown sometimes, I hate driving downtown. So a lot of times I stick to my area in North York. My usual routine on a weekend would be round 1. Start with food and drinks at Nome Izakaya, then a few more at Hy lounge and then Studio lounge for karaoke and of course a few more drinks and then when things get to the YOLO level you will find me dancing the night away at club Oora. Lol

Are you more comfortable in lingerie or bikini?

I’m more comfortable in lingerie but people seem to be more comfortable when I’m in a bikini. 🙂

    4

Which are your best physical features?

LOL I love to Smile because it’s contagious and sharing is caring.

What can a guy do to get your attention?

Make me laugh, make me wonder or show me his dorky side.

    5

How will you describe a romantic date?

It could be anywhere and we can eat anything. I don’t think it matters as long as I’m with the person I want to be with. Romance is nice but being able to relax and chill out would probably be the best date.

    6

Thank you for taking your time to answer our questions on SimplySxy, Kelly. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Knowing who you are and being confident in yourself. Anyone can be “sexy” if they want to be.
