When I first started camming, I didn’t fully realize the potential of this industry. I felt excited, ashamed, and nervous all at the same time. I have become fully self sufficient, I pay all of the bills on my house that I paid for with cash, I support my family, and I do it from the privacy, and comfort of my own home. The only regret I have is that I didn’t start camming sooner.
How I Started Camming
I was at a low point in my life when I decided to start camming. I had just left my home state, and moved to another with my boyfriend, and we were living in a small trailer with his mom. I worked in the morning while everyone else went to work at a restaurant down the road, where my boyfriend was only making about $60 a week. Things quickly changed though, and as I figured out the basics of camming, I quickly realized that I would be making twice as much a day as my boyfriend did, and it would actually cost us money for him to keep working at the restaurant.
Challenges Faced
When I first started camming, I dealt with a lot of different problems. Trying to explain to people that I have a job, but I don’t ever leave the house was a major one. I’ve learned that it’s better to just avoid the question, “I’m not at liberty to discuss my work with you” or “I’m not really supposed to talk about it” sounds much more official than,” I work online”, or “I’m a cam model”.
Things You Should Know Before Starting!
Camgirls are considered self employed! This means that your site isn’t going to take taxes out of your pay check, you have to file, and pay the taxes owed yourself. This is simple to do if you use a tax software, but it can be very confusing if you’re trying to keep your job title a secret from your family. Be smart, do some research on how to file self employment taxes, be prepared to talk to the IRS, and don’t be afraid, this is your business.
Common Misconceptions About Camgirls
I hear a lot that I should have went to college, or that I’m only a camgirl because I didn’t go to college. However, I am 22 years old, I have a house that is completely paid off, I pay all my bills on time, and I have a lot of downtime to pursue other hobbies/things that I really love to do.
My sister is 8 years older than me, she graduated from college and owes a very large amount of money to that college. She is still renting, and will probably have no other choice but to rent for quite a while; she works 5/6 days a week, and has very little downtime. You tell me who’s happier.
