Model & Fashion Design Student Lily Amancay Huaman

Hi 🙂 I’m Lily and I’m a 19 year old student and model. My name Amancay translates to Lily, so it has sort of become my unofficial name. I’m originally from Connecticut but I moved to NYC once I turned 18 to pursue my dreams of working in the fashion industry. I currently attend Parsons School of Design for a major in Fashion Design.

What inspires your fashion style?

I think I dress pretty casual and stick to the things that make me feel comfortable and cool. I wear lots of denim; in fact, I wear a jean jacket almost everyday with my sneakers or combat boots. I don’t really know if there’s an inspiration for my style, probably just the model off-duty look.

Are there any accessories you can’t live without?

I cannot live without my unicorn jewelry. I wear the same unicorn earrings and necklace everyday. I also always have a baby figurine in either my bag or jacket. I have a good collection of small baby figures, I just buy them when I come across them. They’re good luck!

Which is your most memorable photoshoot or modeling experience?

The one that stands out to me happened in 2017 during the winter. I was contacted by this amazing photographer (@johnkelseyphoto). He travels around and at the time he was living in a small sailboat. He invited me to shoot at a studio but I couldn’t make the time for that. Instead, I agreed to shoot outside on his boat with the Manhattan skyline in the background… wearing only lingerie! It was so cold (there was snow on the ground to put it into perspective) that afterwards I had cramps from my body tensing up due to the cold, but it was so worth it!

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do or experience but have yet to find the time for it?

I definitely want to travel more.

Have you been in an embarrassing situation that is funny now when looking back?

I embarrass myself a lot! And every time I look back on things I still cringe.

If you could collaborate or meet anyone past or present, who will it be?

Honestly, I would meet Kanye West. Like, have him over for dinner. He just seems like he has an opinion on everything and would be very entertaining to be around.

What do you not get about guys?

I don’t understand why most men don’t experiment with fashion more. It seems like a lot of them are afraid of coming off too “feminine”, but I personally think it’s attractive when a man doesn’t care and can be different.

Sexy is when you put on some makeup, do your hair, wear nice lingerie and heels, and make people realize that women are the most beautiful creatures in the world.

Philippines Model, Designer & Blogger Riccio Sandy

Hi there! Let’s start with what I do, I’m a Marketing strategist specializing on branding, a freelance model and an artist Manager for classical singers here in the Philippines. But the best part is, I’m a fashion design student from Manila.yes, I’m a working student. I have my own line of beach wedding gowns for the non-traditional brides which I’ll be expanding to local beach cover-ups made from abaca fabric. I was born and raised in the beautiful island of Palawan but moved to the city in time for college. And oh! I’m only 23 years old!

What is your proudest achievement so far?

Probably having my own line and branching out. The ocean has always been a part of me so it’s a dream come true to get inspiration from the sea and actualizing it.. waking up every morning going to school, getting crazy stress about school workloads and going home stressing about my personal workloads I consider an achievement as well.

Which is the best compliment you have received?

That I have a big heart that’s willing to help others anywhere, anytime

Is modeling on camera a lot harder than it looks?

Hmm. If you’re comfortable with the people you’re working with then it wouldn’t be as hard. Just play good music from your own playlist and have fun! I have a bad habit of checking every layout so I know what to change and make the photos come out better.

Are you more of a morning person or night owl?

I’m both! I love the sun. I’m obsessed with morning coffee and sunrise but my mind works best at midnight. I usually finish my workloads when it’s night time.

Do you have a sweet tooth?

Who doesn’t? Stopping myself from eating too much sweets is probably the hardest thing to do for me haha!

If you could have a superpower, what will it be?

Teleportation! I would love to see the world through my own eyes. <3

Funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?

There was this one time, I was out with my girls and then this guy came up to me and said, “Hey! it’s you! You stole my crackers when we were in pre-school! Don’t you remember? Wait, What’s your name again? That was so long ago!”

Just to start a conversation and I’ve never met him in my life! It was so funny we ended up being good friends until today.

Known as Mskuan too. Nineteen this year, from penang. Currently studying Fashion Design.

What is your fashion style like?

Classy. Trendy. Exotic. Girl next door. Punk. Sporty. Avant Garde.

Which items are a must have in your daily life?

Phone. Wet Tissue.

How much of a foodie are you?

I’ve got a bit of a foodie in me. I like to cook, bake and have a few cookbooks that I rely on. But, I’m not a snob about food and you don’t see anything wrong with ordering food from regular cafes. Sometimes, the long-standing dilemma.

Which is the best compliment you have received?

‘Wow, you are so young and famous. So proud of you!!”

If you could be a cartoon character, who will you choose to be?

Sam, from Totally Spies.

Which is the lamest pickup line or attempt a guy has tried to get to know you?

“Oh, or maybe I should get your number first?”

What is an ideal first date to you?

Something completely spontaneous. You will see each other’s reaction to a new experience and will have fun doing it. It will be a new experience for both of us which will make us step out of our comfort zone which is a good thing. Perfect first date involves deep conversations.

Mostly are unique garments or things that attract me at first sight. The word ‘SEXY’ literally comes out of my mouth and that’s how I define sexy.
