María Jímenez

María JiménezMaría Jímenez has a undergraduate degree in Psychology by the University of Valencia (Spain) and a master’s degree in Sexual Health and Clinical Sexology by UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia) in collaboration with the Institute of Psychology, Sexology and Sexual Medicine (ESPILL), with specializing in Reproductive Psychology.

Personally, Ms. Jímenez is inclined to the topic of assisted reproduction. That can be seen as much in her formation as in her professional life. She complemented her specialization by participating in a course of Applied Psychology in the Assisted Reproduction held by IPEM (Instituto de Postgrado de Estudios de Medicina y Salud) in collaboration with the prestigious Valencian Institute of Infertility (IVI), and she had the opportunity of realizing assignments proper to Applied Psychology of Infertility in the psychological center Libertad Calles de Madrid (Spain).

Ms. Jímenez is also the author of the scientific article “Tener, o no tener; esa es la cuestión” (“To have, or not to have; that’s the question”), a study that provides a current view of maternity and paternity, that was published in the scientific journal Desexología (www.desexologia.com). It was represented in the Third International Congress of Sexology UNED-ESPILL and received the ESPILL 2013 award, that is endorsed by the Association of Specialists on Sexology AES and the Spanish Academy of Sexology and Sexual Medicine AESMS.

After participating in a morning radio program directed to promoting sexual health, Ms. Jímenez now collaborates with different journals as editor for these topics.

In future, she would like to help and counsel couples as much psychologically as sexologically, who are turning to assisted reproduction, and she also would like to go on cooperating in different investigations about this subject.
