Singaporean Fashionista Si Hui

Hi! Thanks for featuring me. I’m Si Hui from Singapore. You can also call me Sherena. My friends know me as someone who’s energetic, enthusiastic and efficient. I find that life’s all about balance, so I try my best to maintain a good balance with my health, growth, career, family, relationships and putting myself out there. It’s a lot to handle, but so very worth it. I’m currently working in Facebook and posting snippets of my life on Instagram (@lookitsloke).

What is your fashion style like and where do you love to shop from?

Functional, simple and sleek. I really like sleek silhouettes and keeping things classy. Instead of following fashion icons, I think it’s important to wear what’s comfortable and what fits well. When I find something that suits me, I stick to it. It’s also why 70% of my wardrobe is made up of bodycon dresses – it’s so versatile and flattering. I shop from anywhere – online and offline. If I see something that I like and foresee myself wearing, I’d get it.

Do you have any fashion accessories that you cannot live without?

A watch. I’m chill on the accessories front and sometimes I find that the less is more. But I can’t live without a watch because it helps me to keep track of time!

Which 3 things do you enjoy doing most in the city you live in?

I enjoy going to the beach with my friends to catch up over food and drinks, and some casual volleyball. I also like to keep active and go hiking or to the gym. I enjoy café/bar hopping as well.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of an adventurer are you?

I’d say it’s a 6. I like to push boundaries, but I’ll need to find intrinsic value in things I do. Life’s an adventure and there’s always a destination.

If you could time travel, where will you like to travel to?

The future! I’m really curious about how the world will look like 10-15 years later with all the tech development. It’ll be cool to see the world inching closer to smart cities and smart nations. 

Would you rather have super sensitive taste or super sensitive hearing?

Taste. I enjoy cooking and baking, and café hopping. Having super sensitive taste might help me to reverse engineer some of the nice foods I’ve had so that I can recreate it at home!

What turns you off on a date?

I get really turned off when people are rude, entitled, arrogant and sloppy. On the other hand, I appreciate people who are genuine, kind, patient, intellectual, clean-cut and humble. In short, I like it when a guy is being a gentleman – because they are, and not because they’re trying to impress anyone. 

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Si Hui. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”? 

“Sexy” is more than skin deep or what you wear. It’s poise, confidence, wit and grace. It’s about being in love with life, loving and believing in yourself, and living up to the standards you set yourself up for!
