I was considering the adult services industry for a while because of its desirable freedom. I hadn’t actually pursued the course until I met a wonderful provider who helped guide me. She is a wonderful person for helping me without asking anything in return. During our talks, she told me of the best places to advertise, how to properly screen clients, and just the basic of how to get started. Within a few weeks, I decided to take the plunge!
Were You Prepared?
I jumped right in and learned along the way. I feel now, I have grown into my own as a provider, and realized how I want to conduct my business.
Challenges I Faced When Starting Out
A lot of people will take advantage of your new status and try to cross boundaries. I wish I had been stricter and more firm during my first year but, as with anything in life, you must learn from your past and continue forward. There are definitely things I would love to have done differently but alas, I cannot change the past or what choices were made then. I can only do the best for me in my future decisions.
One of the biggest marketing mistakes I made in the beginning was to try and emulate another woman’s business. But we’re all different from each other and what makes us a unique provider. While making changes to the structure of your business is extremely stressful because you’re not sure what will happen but for my own personal sanity, I made mine and I couldn’t be happier with the pursuance of them!
How To Be Unique & Stand Out
I believe you have to choose who you want to be as a provider and stay firm with it. Some women choose to be themselves, while others choose to be a fantasy of their own. What is most comfortable for you will be what works best for your business. If you’re not into your persona and business 100%, it will show and it may cause a drawback because people are relatively easy to read.
Advice For New Escorts
Considering myself still “new” in this industry, I think the best advice I could give is, “stay true to your mental health.” We cannot let clients take us past our comfort zones. What other people may be fine with, may not be for you. THAT’S OK. Business will be there for you, regardless. The provider who helped me begin my business had been providing for a while and she had one piece of advice from her years of experience, which really stuck with me, “there will always be a client for you.”
Of course, it is definitely disheartening when business is slower than usual but remember to plan accordingly for a “rainy month.” Last but most importantly, we must not forget that we made the choice to be in this industry, we have to have fun with it!
