What Does Kelly Want To Change About The World?

Who is Kelly He?

Hi, thank you for reaching out! I’m a student who is currently studying economics at a Canadian university, and am subsequently planning to obtain a MBA degree in the United States. I want to pursue a career in management consulting, but am also passionate about academia. Some of my favourite things include: shopping, eating, travelling, and going out in general! I love exploring new places, and am definitely a fan of having nights I can’t completely remember. What I strongly believe in is living your life to the fullest – which means having an optimistic outlook, taking on new opportunities, and being adventurous.

How will you describe your fashion style?

I’m very open to most styles, but if I had to specify, then I’d say an alternation between classic and casual. I’m a huge fan of blouses and heels, and love leather gloves with a neutral woven coat (paired with red lipstick, of course). At the same time, my everyday go-to outfit typically includes high-waisted jeans and a jacket or sweater. I plan on continuing to explore new trends in the months to come!

Is there an interesting story behind one of your cool tattoos?

Well, you see, I fell in love with the idea of being inked a few years ago when I was 17. My first experience at a tattoo parlor was a quick 10-minute session which led to the two Chinese words on my back. Last year, I decided to be a bit more daring – after winning a few hundred dollars from a business competition, I impulsively decided to spend the money on more tattoos.

This time, I added a phoenix and a string of roses to complement the pre-existing words. I could write an entire essay on why I chose each design, but instead, I want to leave the meanings behind them open for your interpretation. After all, the beauty of art lies in its subjectivity and ambiguity. I will say, however, that the words “恒心” mean “perseverance” in Chinese. As for the rest… what do you think?

Which is your preferred side when taking selfies?

Definitely my left side (or your right). I have tons of earrings there for a reason!

Do you have any favorite quotes you live by?

I actually have two top sayings that I always tell myself: “It’s never too late to start”, and “Have no regrets”.

These just mean that I should always try my best, and make the most of what I can do. The second quote also means that no matter what, I should never waste time regretting my choices – I should learn from my mistakes and move on, since the past can’t be changed.

How picky are you when it comes to food?

Not picky at all! I love food (a bit too much), and the thought of trying new dishes excites me a lot. Usually, I don’t even mind eating leftovers. I’ve even started to really enjoy cooking, and am trying to learn how to make new meals. One of my goals is to visit as many different restaurants as possible.

If you had the opportunity to change one thing in the world, what will it be?

I would make “sharing” easier. And by this I mean not only sharing resources such as food, shelter, and clothing; but also sharing knowledge, opportunities, and power. I would encourage people to want to share what they have, and help foster a more equitable world.

What is the lamest attempt a guy has tried to know or hit on you?

Haha, too many to list… To be honest, I think lame attempts are hilarious. I mean, pick-up lines don’t work on me, but they do make me laugh and make me more willing to talk to that person – as long as they’re nice! What I don’t like is if the guy tries to follow me around or if they can’t take a hint. Once, someone went to my badminton practice (I used to be on the school team), sat on the bench, and just watched me there for almost the entire time! That’s just weird.

Thank you for taking your time to answer our questions on SimplySxy. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?

Your sexiness is completely defined by you. I don’t think that the notion of being “sexy” should be restricted to a specific body type or to the amount of skin you show. Someone who is curvy can be just as sexy as someone who is slim; someone modelling for intimate apparel can be just as sexy as someone bundled up for the winter. In fact, being “sexy” can be a matter of personality, a facial expression, a tone of voice – it’s whatever you set it as, and everyone is able to be as “sexy” as they wish.
